    Very quick five for Wednesday:

    1. Seeing a group of friends I hadn't seen in a while.

    2. Getting a necessary work-related short course completed today so now I can box-tick that it's been done.

    3. Making friends with the sweetest baby goat imaginable. :D

    4. Getting an unexpected payment of over £60 into my bank account.

    5. Surviving driving some pretty long distances in a very busy day, but the weather was mostly dry and the evening was beautiful. Have still got to go and collect DS1 from the coach station and he phoned earlier to say he was stuck in traffic jams so it may be even later than planned. It will be a pleasure to get that last journey done and put myself to bed.

    Sweet dreams everyone
    B x

    edited to add:

    6. Just got back from collecting DS1 and a large roe deer ran out in front of my car on a country road on the way back home. Both the deer and I were very startled but I managed to avoid it and no other cars were around thank goodness. It disappeared over onto safe fields and woodlands on the other side of the road. I am so pleased that I didn't hurt it - it was beautiful - and that we didn't have an accident. Today has been bizarre from start to finish and I'm glad it's over! Night night.

Have had a busy few days and haven't managed to post so here are some from the last couple of days.

    1. DS1 is home for the summer - but so are the arguments between DS1 &DS2!!

    2. My review at work was good and with easily achieved objectives for the year. Ones that will take a long time to complete but with little effort.

    3. Washing drying on the line and most of it has been done on economy 7.

    4. HM bobotie last night which I stretched so there is enough left to freeze.

    5. Taken lunch to work this week.

    6. Lovely walks with my dog and chats with friends while walking.

    7. NSD

    8. Seeing another hot air balloon.

hello! Thursday teatime here, starting to get dark & rather chilly!

1.OH took DD's to school which gave me an extra 20 minutes! I dropped DS off en route to work. He had 2 exams today....1 better than the other! More tomorrow!

2.good,positive day at work! I started 4 weeks ago today & now feel confident at what I'm doing and look forward to it instead of anxiously wondering if I was doing the right thing!
I am trying to share my Scottish culture & language & teach my colleagues new words! Like bahooki (your backside!) awa'anbileyerheid....(probably ...get lost! or I don't believe you!)

    3.Finished on time....I'm usually running late :(

4.Picked son up on way home & then met DD1 on way to supermarket. Got bargains galore! Reduced croissants (which will get sliced, bagged & go in freezer, for easy pack lunches) reduced flowers, reduced yoghurt (very expensive here) reduced doughnuts ....then just as we were almost done ,over the tannoy.....fill a bag of fruit & veg for $2. OMG ,it was a scrum of people! However, with sharpened elbows I went in & came out with 3 bags! These are large bags & I got loads of apples, pears, oranges, kiwi fruit. 3 bunches of coriander,1/2 red cabbage, loads of small turnips, red onions, peppers,a button squash. So I was most chuffed with my bargains. Plenty fruit for weekend and lots of veggies for soups/ casseroles!

5.Nice to be in for the evening! I am planning on getting bathrooms cleaned when I step away from computer!

Hope you have a good day!

    Evening all.

Thanks for all your get well wishes - they seem to be working as my cold hasn't got any worse. It looks like it will be a minor case of sniffles rather than one of the heavy, flu-y colds I'm rather prone to, which is a relief. :)

I've had One Of Those Days today - the kind where everything that can fight back has done so, from the cat doing a wee on the kitchen floor to a busy lizzie plant falling over three times in a row while I was trying to re-pot it. That's where this thread is particularly helpful, though, as it makes me think about nice things rather than how much the world seems to hate me. ;)

    1) A lie-in this morning, although it ended rather abruptly when my DM texted me - she'd obviously forgotten I wasn't at work and wouldn't be up at my normal time. :(

    2) After a gloomy start it's been a nice, if rather breezy, day.

    3) Potted up my busy lizzies, and found I had five free ones as several pots had more than one plant in.

    4) Going out with friends to a pub quiz tonight. I just hope the Revenge of Inanimate Objects doesn't continue with me knocking someone's drink over.

    5) Changed the bed so I've got nice clean sheets to sleep on.

I might pop in tomorrow before I go on holiday - I'm not sure if I'll have time before picking my sister up from the station (the chances of her letting me know which train she's catching before she's actually on it are fairly minimal, sadly ;)). If not, I'll see you all when I get back. :D
Back after a very long break!

    Evening everyone,

I had a bit of a yuck start to the day and haven't really gotten over it. I was on the way to work and the car in front of me hit a little dog. The poor little mite was running round in circles yelping so I slammed on the brakes and hopped out. The other driver then decided to stop (about 100m down the road... I don't think she would have stopped if I hadn't). Anyway I scooped the dog up and called to ask if it was hers (our old one used to leap out of moving cars). She said it wasn't so I said I would take it to the vet. Unfortuately the poor little thing died on the during the 5 minute drive.

    1) I was able to give comfort to the dying animal and stopped it being abandoned on the side of the road.
    2) As a result of all the blood I had to take the car to get valeted. Its the cleanest my car has been in years.
    3) The presentation went well - though there is still a lot of work to be done.
    4) Went to see a supplier in the afternoon and came away with some a box of really yummy fresh fruit and vegetables.
    5) Going to bed early tonight - am exhausted and have a few early mornings coming up.

    Night night
