Evening all!Carolyntia wrote: »4) Being asked out for drinks by one of our buyers - he's lurvly - we've been flirting for ages but when I got back this morning he said he'd missed me and would I go out with him on Friday night
5) Lots of flirty e-mails from the above - once I'd got over the shock and said yes
Carolyntia - he must be the first lurvly buyer ever!!! I have worked in buying for nearly 10 years and have yet to meet one!!! :rotfl:Sadly! Have fun on Friday night.
1) Good day in the office.
2) Went out for a drink with two of my colleagues and had a good chat
3) Baked a carrot cake for my colleague who's birthday it was today. It may be a little odd as I used some olive oil in it (I had run out of veg oil)
4) Gorgeous soaking rain... I was surprised by the number of people in the office who complained about it!!!
5) Loads of yellow stickies in MrS... yippee!!
Night all
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

Evening
Pleasures for today:
1. Bought the bits of food shopping I needed at lunch time so no big supermarket shop this week. I know if I had gone to Tesco would have just bought lots.
2. Forgot to take my lunch to work but bought a cheap but tasty sandwich not the usual expensive one.
3. My mum received her mobility scooter that I had ordered for her today. She is very pleased with it and my dad is even more pleased with the price:money:
4. Tasty chilli for dinner followed by a quick store cupboard dessert which everyone enjoyed
5. DD handling a difficult situation in a very calm and grown up matter. I don't think I could have dome the same:o
Hugs to all who need them and welcome to the thread vgstar44 :wave:0 -
vgstar44: hello and glad you clarified you don't randomly go through peoples bags!0

Evening all.
Another  to vgstar44 (you know... the one with a thing about rifling through handbags...)
My five pleasures for today:
1. And this was a gigantic pleasure since I hadn't realised before that it could be done.... discovering that I can make lemon curd by using my slow cooker. Flipping fabulous. I just left it cooking in a pyrex bowl in the slowcooker ceramic bowl which was part filled with water and the raw ingredients metamorphosed into the most delicious organic (mostly) lemon curd imaginable and I now have two little jars of the stuff sitting side by side in the fridge.:j
2. Managing to get quite a bit done in the house this afternoon despite starting to feel ill again. (Used the timer in my '5 minutes busy, 5 minutes sitting down and resting' mode - for use when I am feeling unable to do anything.)
3. Seeing the fridge empty ready for tomorrow's veggies. I have used up just about all of last week's delivery and, for yet another week, there has been soooo little waste. :T
4. Phone calls with a couple of friends at lunchtime.
5. Getting some long overdue filing done.
Sweet dreams

On the up, thank goodness! Here are 5 for Monday, so far.
1) MrN brought a cup of tea round to help wake me up :-)
2) Wrote a massive list of jobs to do today (everything from cleaning the kitchen floor to driving to the garage to pay for my MOT) - and have done all the jobs on there!
3) Sons had a good day at school.
4) Quite a nice tea
5) Played outside after tea with sons and MrN's son5 and later MrN himself. A game the boys invented which was a bit like rugby. Or rumpy, as my smaller son calls it! :-D0 -
Like the sound of rumpy Frith
Carolyntia - swit swoo! Hope the date goes well
Can't really think of 5 things that have been good today, it's been an okay to good day, but it's lovely to read about other people's delights.0 -
I've never done this before, but mine for yesterday are:
1 - Taught my older sons how to fill the sink properly for washing dishes, instead of several massive squirts of washing up liquid a teeny drop and swirl it about. They were amazed at how little you need!
2 - When I was making pastry for a treacle tart I made a triple batch and froze the other 2 for future pies :-)
3 - Made breadcrumbs for above tart from stale-ish bread that in the old days I'd have just binned and froze the leftover breadcrumbs
4 - Had a NSD, thanks to the washing machine engineer not turning up until after 5pm lol
5 - Made DH a big packed lunch so that he wouldn't be tempted by the snack vanFeeding 2 adults and 5 piglets aged 7 months, 7, 8, 10 & 13. Thank heaven for Aldi!:rotfl:
