Evening all. Long long time since I posted on this thread (and in fact on the forum as a whole until this morning) so:

    1) Rediscovering moneysavingexpert.com Old-stylee forum. I never really forgot you all, just got out of the habit of coming on here.
    2) Went to a car boot sale in my local Tesco carpark this morning.
    3) Found two bargains: a set of three enamel on metal bowls, with lids (£2). I already had one and love it. and two glass worktop savers/chopping boards, 30p each because one is missing some feet! (those rubber bump type.)
    4) Baking day with my friend's daughter, who I can now say is my friend too.
    5) Lovely simple tea for the three of us- pork loin steaks, mash, carrots, and pepper sauce.
    6) sat talking with hubby. We're considering getting chickens. He has always been keen but I'm frankly scared of them. (and I'm a farmers daughter.)

Enjoy the rest of the evening all.

    Thanks Carolyntia.

I was on here a bit last year, but the last time looks to be the end of December. That will change!

Money is, as always, tight as hubby is on disability benefits. I work full time. Really wish I didn't need to, but hey.
So, the garden is in full swing, I've taken stock of the jam cupboard, we have bottled up last years fruit liquers, started the elderflower champagne, and been cooking from scratch. Having said that, we got a dog in November, another last week, and have two cats. Also considering chickens. Yes, we are suckers for punishment, and sob stories (all animals either rehomed or rescue. And it would be ex-battery chooks.)

It feels good to be back.

What a grotty day! Getting the bad stuff out of the way first - continuous mizzling rain, MrN coming over and neither of us managing to talk about anything (can anyone detect a theme here?) then asking me what was wrong. Well, how about remembering the things I told you the other day or reading the texts I sent? Nothing NEW is wrong! Then we went for a walk in the forest (we 3, not MrN obviously) and unbelieveably managed to bump into MrsN 3 times - in 6,000 acres of forest! What a nightmare.

    Anyway, 5 for today.

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Cooked breakfast/lunch.

    3) Managed a walk in the forest when not dodging MrsN.

    4) Swimming with sons and my brother.

    5) Rather a tasty tea of chicken kievs, cous cous and brocolli.

    6) Have everything ready for school. Just on the sofa bottle with a hot water bottle, the cat and the Archers and hanging on like an idiot in case MrN deigns to appear. :-(

Haven't posted for ages but just because it's busy, busy etc...here are mine:
1.Garden is looking lovely, so much hard work but all coming together now.
2.Fiddled around with my tomato plants, taking bits off, tying up etc, very relaxing.
3.Was brave and altered a new pair of curtains, I've never done it before so really chuffed (wonderweb, blooming marvellous!), they're up now.
    4.Peaceful walk with the dogs.
5.Bit late but quick bit of telly and bath before bed now!

    Night all.

Ladyhawk, 'little jaunt up' and 'Snowdon' sounds like a contradiction in terms! Sounds wonderful though.

    (((Frith)))

    My five for Sunday:

    1. NSD & NPD :T

    2. I asked DSs to do 15 mins tackling the[STRIKE] jungle [/STRIKE]garden and they did more than that and made one chunk of it look quite respectable. :T

    3. Kitchen surfaces and cooker hob are gleaming. :T

    4. Soup (and dippy eggs) and pudding supper. Invented a new pudding to feed the starving boys: McVities Golden Syrup Cake (on offer in Mr S at present & with a very long shelf life) in slices with custard on top. I've now got an emergency, fake stodgy treacle sponge and custard pud to keep in reserve in the cupboard. :T

    5. Rediscovered a local fabric suppliers website and I think that I may pay them a visit when I have some time to myself later this week.

    Sweet dreams

    Yesterday's goodies

    1. Did a Reverbe and found 5p - hello Reverbe if you're reading :)
    2. OH's mum told me she's putting together a bag of toys for school summer fete for me :)
    3. Picked OH up for a sleepover :):):):):)
    4. We went out for a pub lunch with one of my loveliest friends; on Saturday the thought of eating a roast (vegan nut roast for me, yum yum) was very odd as it was soooooo hot, yesterday in the rain, it was perfect :)
    5. Even though I was less hungover than I deserved to be and rather tired yesterday, I felt really good during the day and when I finally caved in, OH was happy to have an early night and watch TV and natter before I fell asleep. Love having a laidback man in my life at long last! :):)
    6. Low spend day.

hello....much internet frustration & gnashing of teeth!

1.Cold & frosty start to day......reminds me of home.....however, you would think then, that I would know to scrape car in plenty time!
    2.Good day at work.
3.Good to be home from work!
    4. Had RTC sausages for tea in a sandwich & DD1 made buns for pud. Have been cooking sausages in oven & they taste nicer.
5.Using the library, for heat, light & a very slow internet connection....however, it's marginally better than home!

    Have a good Monday x
