So sorry to hear about Mr Williams, Frith. He and his wife sound like a lovely couple
Mine for Tuesday
1. nsd
2. coffee with a friend, turned down the slice of hm chocolate cake she offered. That wasa struggle!
3. Picked up the birthday card my friend made for DM. It's just stunning
4. Said friend has asked if I'd help out when she attends wedding fairs, country fairs etc, to promote her stationery business. I'm a bit sceptical about things like that but her portfolio is amazing, even impressed hard-nosed me, so am only too happy to help her get her business off the ground
5. Yummy rhubarb with 1/2 tub of vanilla Muller for pudding
Night night sweet dreams

2.Was sitting on sofa ,working up to getting off backside & doing something, when I got a call about a job I had applied for on Monday night online.....so went for an informal chat and start tomorrow at 9am. Only 10-15 minutes (max) drive so will drop kids off on way & be home for them getting in !

Morning all.
I know this isn't the time I usually post on this thread, but I had to pop in to say:
mhagster - congrats on your new job! I hope it goes really well for you.
Frith - that's really sad about your M&D's neighbour - he sounds like a great sort of chap.
Kittikins - I forgot to say - I'm sorry about your leg and hope you heal really quickly. It's nice that you work for such an understanding company - I can't imagine my line manager would accept a small thing like a broken leg as a reason for working from home. :mad:Carolyntia wrote: »CCP - We used to have a cat like that too...basically it's their way of saying they've had enough fuss thank you very much
With my mog it's the opposite - it's his way of showing how much he's enjoying being fussed over - he gets so over-excited with all the attention that he starts gnawing at my hands. He doesn't seem to understand why I don't enjoy it as much as he does!
Have a pleasant day, all - I'll be back with pleasures at my usual time.Back after a very long break!0 -
Mhagster - well done on the job
Frith - hugs to you0 -
Pleasures so far today
1. DD was very warm when I got into bed last night so nice and snuggly, of course it wasn't normal warmth, she was feverishso a day off school with a bug that's cutting a swathe through the classes, hopefully back tomorrow
2. My leg feels much better today, probably because I'm worrying about DD more than sitting around feeling sorry for myself
3. Nice caring texts from OH, but sadly doubt he'll come over tonight as we wouldn't want him to catch any bugs
4. Found out Lidl's has cheap tomato & herb pasta sauce so thinking of buying a few jars tomorrow when I have to go to the nearby town, they'll be cheaper than tins of tomatoes...
5. Had a lovely snooze at lunchtime
6. Boss congratulated me on a great job doing the work last night!
7. Participated on a work call that I was dreading but I ended up with much less to do than I anticipated.
8. Hoping that a friend will pop over for a glass of wine tonight.....
9. Found a first customer £3 discount code for the vitamin tablet website that OH recommended to me, so have some calcium tablets on their way to hopefully make my bones nice and strong so I don't break any more/heal the cracked one
Hopefully I'll have more pleasures later in the day, but to have found 9 by 4:30pm's pretty good goingLove this thread!
10. Made the scrummiest risotto for dinner
11. Enjoy watching the Simpsons with DD (Miss Kittikins, she likes it CCP) but she's still got a cracking headache and hasn't touched her dinner, so I reckon she'll be home with me another day

Evening all.
Kittikins - I hope your DD's feeling much better already. Get well now... um... Miss Kittikins? (I'm not quite sure what to call her!)
My pleasures for today:
1) NSD.
2) A very tasty prawn salad for lunch, with a decidedly un-OS but utterly scrummy wasabi salad dressing I bought last weekend.
3) Dinner entirely from the freezer and cupboards, which is always rather satisfying.
4) Vacuumed the flat when I got home from work - I've been intending to do it since last weekend so it's nice to have it done at last, and the exercise warmed me up nicely on a chilly evening.
5) Received my replacement baking tray from Lakeland, despite the delivery person leaving it in a really daft place. (In the window alcove of the basement flat in my building - it's currently empty so I couldn't ask the occupant to retrieve it for me, and I ended up lying flat on my stomach on the pavement and picking the parcel up with the very tips of my fingers . I really hope no-one was watching as I must have looked very daft indeed!)
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all
Frith - Sorry to hear about Mr Williams ((((hugs))))
mhagster - Congratulations on your new job! :j
Kittikins - Sorry to hear little kittikins isn't well....hopefully she'll be feeling much brighter tomorrow
VJsmum - I loved Belfast when I visited...such a beautiful place - congratulations on the weight loss
1) NSD
2) Used up the last of the yellow sticky chicken
3) Lovely sunny evening here
4) Fantastic juicy oranges at work
5) Doing some exercises with my fit ball
6) Today I noticed they'd changed the soap dispensers in the ladies from the lovely Dove liquid soap to something cheap and nasty - a quick look in the (clean) bin and I retrieved a nearly full bag of soap, half a huge industrial toilet roll and a box that would be ideal for something I'm going to list on ebay this weekend:D:D - I have no shame!
Hope you all have a good evening
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
Felt more upbeat today than i have for a few days.
1. tacos for dinner and made 1lb of mince and 50g of lentils stretch to about 8 portions.
2. son doing better in his maths - a worry of a subject for him.
3. GOing for a walk in a min with OH, might stop off at pub
4. Bought a monsoon top off ebay for a song.
5. Replaced my Oasis cd that got scratched with one off ebay for £1.50I wanna be in the room where it happens0
