Evening all
1) Beautiful sunny day
2) Phone call last night from an old friend
3) Some successful meetings this morning
4) Visiting my old project this afternoon to explain some procedures - reminded me of why I asked for the transfer
5) All my friends from the old project saying how much happier I looked
6) Getting home a little earlier because my afternoon meeting was on the right side of town
7) NSD
8) Chats on FB with some very old friends
Hope you all had a good day...here's hoping Friday is even better!
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
Thursday's thrills:
1. DD stayed at home with me today, she was pale and headachy this morning, but thankfully she perked up during the day and we had lots of fun
2. Got the washing dry
3. Bought some YS bargains in Asda but...
4. Slipped on some water in front of a refridgerator in the shop jolted my bad legThe pleasure - I had my strong painkillers with me, and don't think I've done more harm, I'm just a wee bit sore at the mo.
5. Spent some time with OH
6. Managed to wash and rebraid DD's hair so that she looks even more beautiful
7. Very quiet work day
8. Managed to get some personal paperwork sorted
9. Made a toddler's day when I asked him to post some letters for me, he looked really sad when he'd helped his mummy and I had a lot of letters, so I was happy to ask him to help me out
10. Have made plans for OH to come for a sleepover tomorrow night
11. Without too much prompting, DD tidied up "her side" of the sitting room this afternoon, bless, she tried really hard
12. We had a naughty tea of MaccyD happy meal (DD only eats the fishfingers and chips, so I don't feel too bad) and she loved her toy, so I am officially the world's loveliest mummy for taking her to eat in a "restaurant"
13. Painkillers have kicked in so nothing aches, yippee! Think I'll capitalise on that and head on up to bed.0 -
Morning
Pleasures for yesterday;
1. Cakes at work today as was someones birthday
2. More free lego for low spend to put away in present draw
3. Quick dinner of spicy chicken pasta before DD went to guides
4. DD had guides in an outdoor location today. We walked there and I walked around the park whilst DD had guides.
5. Lovely evening walking around a lovely country park and saw lots of rabbits.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Had a good birthday yesterday
1. Nice cards and presents.
2. Went for a walk and had a coffee with a friend
3. Lovely meal at pizza express using vouchers.
4. HM soup for lunch and enough to freeze made with cauliflower leaves and sad looking veg.
5. Phonecalls with family.0 -
Will think of 5 for yesterday. Felt pretty rubbish after some extremely tactless comments from a lady in the village... and found out my mortgage has risen dramatically... and that the home/school partnership lady can't possibly see my sons until well AFTER they have had to talk to the Cafcass lady about the contact they want with their father...
1) Went to yoga and survived. Cannot do the resting bit at the end still and think I will leave before that in future rather than lying there tense as a board with my eyes pinging open all the time when they're meant to be shut! I like the stretchy bits.
2) Did a big chunk of OH's garden for him.
3) Bigger son went on his outward bound course again so just had little son for a while and we went strawberry picking.
4) Man came to take the guttering down. The house looks derelict without it!
5) OH came round. Sadly only to find me stressed almost to the point of crying but at least he was there.0 -
Frith, i know what you are saying about the relaxation. I love yoga but that bit has put me off a little. Friend and i took to leaving before it started (especially if it was cold). We copped out today and went cycling - much cheaper :money:
If i lie on that bl**dy mountainside by that trickling stream again I will scream!! Or in the dark room with a roaring fire (i always mentally had to put the light on - i hate dark rooms)
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
That's it, VJsmum! I told my sons I had been to yoga and they did a course at school and were talking in great detail about how the loved the "lying in a field" bit and that they didn't want to open their eyes when they had finished. They had a lavender bag to put over their eyes too - that would have finished me off completely!0

village life: belated birthday good wishes! Glad you had a nice day.
Oh, my aching body! Not used to this working lark!
1.Up bright & early again, nice to have that extra time to myself!
2.Bleurghy porridge for breakfast! However, it does keep me going & it is very cheap (although I find the oats are much bigger here??) and kids love it....so we are all sitting eating our porridge....some more readily than others!
3.Work was fine, nice team of folk & one of them said 'awwh you're just like my mum' er, I am definately not old enough to be her mum! Got free parking again by being a 'visitor', however don't think I can chance that next week so will have to start paying! Ha! I've only done 2 days & I'm glad it's the weekend! Will start at 9.30, instead of 9am so that suits better, less rush, rush in morning & can still walk DD2 to school and back before heading out!
4. Nice to be home and start the weekend! School uniforms & work clothes all washed & on clothes horse!
5. Went supermarket shopping & got a few things reduced...meat for freezer & croissants (which are very expensive here for some strange reason) for freezer too. We were just heading out when it came over the tannoy that at fruit & veg section, all you could fit in a bag for $2.00 which is 1.30. There were baskets of fruit that was still fine for eating, so I filled 2 big bags with apples, huge pears, 2 cucumbers, tangerines and an unusual pear that looked like an apple. So that was great!
Hope you all have a good Friday , nearly bedtime for me !0 -
1. Feeding worms and mealworms to the tame blackbird who has a nest in our garden hedge, and is taking them to her young ones.
2. Hearing the baby Blue Tits cheeping in the bird box on the back of our house.
3. Homemade potato and leek soup for lunch (leeks were homegrown)
4. Planting out pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers into the veg patch.
5. Working at home...(not in the office):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
