Evening all,
Kittikins - you poor thing... no wonder you have been in such pain!
Carolyntia - not had a chance to speak to the boos today... he wasn't in the office today. I will try tomorrow, though we have our monthly pricing meeting which means that everything is going to be very hectic.
CCP - sorry to hear about the nasty hay fever. Hope you sleep well tonight
Frith -come now... has MrN finally come to his senses and realise what a wonderful woman he was potentially giving up?
Tealady - many congratulations on completing the Moonwalk... I wonder if I handed you your dinner?
Sparrer - glad you had a nice day with your DM... lucky you having such a lovely neighbour! I wish mine would water my seedlings.
Seehar - Welcome to the gang!
1) Had a good day and really felt as if I have acheived something today. Pity my poor neighbour got home when I was just finishing in the garden. Her uncle was killed in a car accident this afternoon back in Nigeria, then it looks like someone tried to break into her flat today.
2) Planted out some of my seedlings, did some weeding nd generally pottered in the garden for an hour and a half when I got home. Nice a relaxing.
3) Am making some spinach and feta muffins at the moment. Looking forward to trying them though making them will mean that I get to sleep rather later than usual tonight.
4) Popped into see an old colleague and previous mum to my Mog. I will be looking after the gold fish and gecko's when she goes on holiday next month. Really looking forward to it as she is always so willing to look after kitty when I go away, that it is nice to be able to do something in return.
5) Chatting to my friend H on facebook.... and his girlfriend being there to ask baking questions of, which turned out to be very useful.
Night night all... sleep tight.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
My five for yesterday

2. DS2 managed to hoover really well.
3. HM chicken pie for tea
4. Posted ebay stuff and one more item sold.
5. Lovely walk0 -
Quick update as it's late!
1. Been reasonably pleasant today, actually saw the sun for the first time in a week! Was warmer outside than in the house!
2. Got a call to say DD2 was feeling unwell ,brought her home for a wee while but went back in afternoon. And she's fine now!
3.Went to School Council meeting tonight, I enjoyed it but it is sooooo different to back home .
4.Made a huge pan of carrot & coriander soup and it's all gone!
5. Enjoyed a bath! That's me for another week!
Enjoy your day! Mine's over & I'm off to bed!
Anyone 'seen' Mummy Saver 'or 'Marmite' anywhere? , not been here for a while.0 -
Evening all.
mhagster - I seem to remember seeing a post from marmite a few days ago on another thread, but I don't think I've seen mummysaver around anywhere. Hope you're both doing OK!
Ladyhawk - how did your spinach and feta muffins turn out? I've never made a savoury muffin I was happy with, so would you mind sharing your recipe if they were good, please?
I'm not sure I've got 5 pleasures for today - it's been a dull sort of day and most of the pleasures I've had haven't been very OS ones. Let's see, though:
1) Nice humous for lunch, with things to dip in it. Does that count even though I bought the humous rather than making it?
2) Someone finally came round to fix a broken window frame, at the sixth time of asking the letting agent to do something about it. He was so nice looking I'm rather wickedly wondering how difficult it would be to break the frame again so he'd have to come back!
3) Cuddles with the mog - right up until the point where he bit me, anyway. (Sigh.)
4) HM prawn curry for dinner, with a blob of mango chutney as I've just rediscovered the bottle I got from Approved Foods. :j
5) Making a loaf of bread in the BM, a miracle that never ceases to amaze me.
Hooray, made it! Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Hi - been away for a few days, so still catching up
1. Lovely and fairly cheap weekend away with the girls to Belfast. Northern Ireland is so underrated
2. Seedlings growing - even if i don't know what they all are :rotfl:
3. Livening up a very boring meeting with a game of Bull $h!t Bingo :rotfl:
4. NPD and the walk to and from the railway station has earned me 5 weightwatchers points
5. Freezer meal (i.e. left overs frozen and defrosted for dinner) so very little spent,
6. The suspected puncture on our hire car has turned out to be ok so we've saved our £100 excess
7. Lost another 1lb on diet despite weekend away - only 4lb to go. :T
8. OH away tonight so i am going to bed with my lappy in a minute.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening all
mhagster - I saw a post from Marmite on another thread the other day too. When she disappeared I PM'd her at the beginning of May and she was a bit busy but ok....haven't seen Mummysaver but it might be worth PMing to see how she's doing.
CCP - We used to have a cat like that too...basically it's their way of saying they've had enough fuss thank you very much
1) Got out on my bike tonight for the first time this year
2) Another yummy salad from the yellow sticky chicken
3) Finally getting some work to the point where I can hand it over to someone else
4) Nice relaxing evening
5) Everything ready for the morning
6) NSD
7) Losing some weight
Hope you all had a good day
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
1. NSD
2. Bosses are sympathetic about me needing to work from home for a few more weeks, phew!
3. My painkillers spaced me out for a while, and OH looked after me well.
4. DD and I fed the ducks at OH's house again, they're so good together
5. Had fun at Rainbows tonight, didn't really want to go as I was feeling rubbish but in the end enjoyed it quite a lot, the girls had a whale of a time as they always do
6. Nice chats with my mummy
7. OH and I went to view a house for my parents, looked perfect on paper but not in reality, would need razing to the ground and rebuilding and that would cost them too much money....oh well, onwards and upwards!
8. OH is being lovely and calling me every 30 minutes to see how I'm doing and chasing to see if I've done some important work, as yet I haven't, shhhhh;)
9. I'm reading a couple of fantastic library books with a few more when I finish these
10. Made scrummy dinner for me and DD
11. Will have the pleasure of DD's company when I eventually go up to bed as I said she could sleep with me tonight as she was feeling a bit "poorly"
I think I'll take another painkiller and pop off to bed in a moment0 -
Tired! But here are 5 or so for today.
1) OH brought me a cup of tea at 8.20. :-)
2) Got bigger son in for a doctor's appointment and he's just had a bug so is able to go on his outward bound course starting tomorrow. And he's been referred again about having his hernias operated on.
3) Got organised and took the money down to the man who will be replacing my rubbish guttering. (More house repairs - hoorah!)
4) Popped in to see dad and brother.
5) Not a bad tea - roast chicken etc.
6) Pretty much on top of housework and have got outward bound bag of stuff ready. Nothing to make nice sandwiches out of, though! No eggs or tuna in this house, that's not very organised!
I'll put this here because I haven't seen anyone to talk to today (no one over 15, anyway!) My mum and dad's neighbour died this morning. It's the end of an era. They were a lovely couple, 20 years older than mum and dad and had never had any children. Dad used to go and see the chap for farming/local advice and for a chat and my mum, who lost her parents when she was young, would take the lady flowers on Mother's Day as she had no one to give any to and the lady had no children to receive any from. They would both always call round on Christmas morning when we were little as well and we would pop down to see the lady on our bikes and always get a cup of tea in the kitchen and a Rich Tea biscuit from an ancient dried milk power tin she had saved from the war! My children call all the neighbours by their first names but perhaps it was different when we were young - so, goodbye, Mr Williams.0 -
Goodbye Mr Williams, you sound like you were a really lovely chap, RIP x0
-
Woohoo have finished the work and can now go to bed with a clear conscience
(clear as I slept for quite a while this afternoon when I was officially supposed to be working
)
