Havn't posted for a couple of days so here are mine for the weekend.

    1. DS1 came home for weekend and it was lovely seeing him.

    2. Worked overtime on Saturday and the day was very calm and double time so good.

    3. Had gammon yesterday - which I love and plenty left.

    4. Items sold on ebay so some money and decluttering when I post them later today.

    5. Washing dried on the line.

    6. Some of my seeds are growing - the seeds I found and just planted.

hello! a wee bit milder today, got my washing almost dry hanging outside !

    1. Had to be at school early today as DD2 was away on a trip & I was helping out at a PTA coffee morning. Stayed for assembly , everyones sings the Australian National Anthem which I find very stirring every week.
2.Nice to feel part of things doing coffee morning. Was talking to someone from Manchester (been here for 20 years) , nice to be understood! She came back over & offered her ear for listening anytime I needed it! Probably won't need it but was nice of her to offer!
3.Went to Salvos & got a domed cheese dish I've had my eye on (kind of Denby-esque) ....have been waiting for it to go half price! Then got 3 glossy magazines for 50cents each(32p) so will enjoy taking my time going through them!....they might be a bit out of date by a few months but they are new to me!
4.Got reduced parsnips at greengrocers and a big bunch of coriander. Had the intention of making carrot & coriander soup for tea however.......we had no gas! Our landlords had phoned gas board & asked them to check our gas meter (it turns out it has a a small leak ) so they came out but never turned gas back on, so we had no cooking/heat/ hot water! So kids had what I call a 'snacky tea'....which we always had when I couldn't be bothered cooking! Then landlords came & relit all the pilot lights so we had power again! So soup for tomorrow!
    5. DD2 had a lovely friend over after school who thought the butter icing on my cupcakes was the best she had ever tasted.....she can come back again! Her mum gave me 10 HUGE lemons off their lemon tree! I was delighted! She has also just phoned to see if I needed to borrow their electric heater....when she picked up her daughter we were shivering! So that was kind!

Enjoy the start of another new week!

    Evening all.

Please excuse the rather brief post tonight - I had a lousy night's sleep last night (darn hayfever ) and have spent most of today sitting in the office struggling to stay awake. :o However, pleasures:

    1) Managing to resist buying some pretty bangles I saw at lunchtime: I'll keep them as a reward to motivate me towards my next weightloss target (as I seem to need extra motivation at the moment :o).

    2) Humous and salad for lunch - very tasty and surprisingly filling.

    3) A chat with a nice lady at Lakeland (they must be one of the nicest companies to deal with) who has promised to send a replacement for a dodgy product and a cheque for the difference in price between what I paid and the cost of the replacement. :T

    4) Somehow finding the energy to cook dinner tonight - I came very close indeed to sticking a pizza in the oven. :o

    5) And it's Basque eggs - one of my favourites, particularly since another forumite told me it's a genuine Basque dish. :D

Have a lovely evening, all - you may not see me again this evening as I suspect my evening will be dinner - washing up - bed. ;)
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all :)

    1. Had a lovely chat with one of the GPs this morning when I went to get a referral for physio

    2. Spent the rest of the day in the local hospital :( and I have broken my leg :( but on the upside I chatted to some nice people :)

    3. I don't need surgery on it and have been given some strong painkillers :)

    4. A lovely lady at the Hospital Friends cafe offered to pay the extra between the 96p I had in my purse (and the cashpoint was broken) and whatever I wanted to eat - luckily I found a big shortbread biccie for 90p :) but it was very kind of her to offer to sub a complete stranger

    5. Popped in to see my gorgeous OH on the way back from the hospital and had a nice cup of tea and a chat and have arranged to see him tomorrow, yippee!!

    6. Went to college (friend drove) but felt sick and spaced out, so the teacher gave us the test to do at home and sent us away - nicely! So a pleasure in that I can go to bed in a moment without feeling guilty!

    7. Bought some YS soya milk, yum yum :)

    8. Lovely chat with my mummy on the phone, looking forward to seeing my parents this weekend :)

    9. Remembered to take a book in with me to the hospital and it was really good, going to finish it off right now!

    10. Lovely happy news from a friend that made me grin from ear to ear (you know who you are :) )

Aargh, Kittikins - a broken leg all along, that must have been excruciating!

Here are my 5 or so for today.

    2) Boys to school on time despite roadwork chaos.

    4) Walked brother's dog.

    5) Popped out with sons to get bigger son the plastic Cag in a Bag coat he will need for his outward bound type course later this week.

    Hiya,

My five very foody ones for Monday.

    1. Did a bit more sorting, sewing and making for the stall.

    2. Made a very good courgette, onion and cheese frittata for supper (and fried up the left over mash to go with it).

    3. And made stewed apple and custard for pud.

    4. Did a meals-on-wheels/taxi-transfer for DS1 from where he spent today working to the sports ground this evening where he's been competing for several hours. I knew he had to eat more than a sandwich first. Fortunately frittata and stewed apple travelled fine! Am about to go out and collect him and see if all that food helped! :D

    5. Got a line and a half full of washing dried. It looked like rain at first but then it just got sunnier and blowier and sunnier and blowier - ideal drying weather. Wish I'd done more now. :D

    Sleep well

    Evening all

Kittikins - Ouch! That sounds really painful - I hope you have a speedy recovery!
Ladyhawk - Have you had a chance to talk to your boss yet?
Frith - Are you going to spill the beans or not? ;)

    1) Very chilled out day yesterday
    2) Yellow stickyed steaks for dinner for the last two days :)
    3) Yummy chicken salad for lunch today thanks to the yellow stickyed chicken on Friday (and for lunch on Saturday and Sunday):o
    4) Finding the Venus razors for £2 in MrA yesterday - I've been meaning to replace my manky one for ages but refused to pay £8:p - I'd had the old one for 8 years so I think I got my monies worth out of it
    5) Also finding 8 Venus spa breeze blades in the rtc section at £8 - normally they would cost £18  - I also have some others in my toiletries stash that were reduced from £8 to £3
    6) Another company rang me this evening and asked me to go for an informal chat next Friday for a job they think I might be interested in :D - I seem to be quite popular at the moment

Hope you all had a good day

Carolyntia I've been doing a bit of detective work :p - see my comment to Frith
Poor you Kittikins, hope your leg mends quickly
Ah, Frith, now we're getting somewhere - 'Went swimming with my brother, sons and OH's sons 3 and 5' - are I right in thinking Mr N didn't mean he didn't want a relationship with you at all? ;). If so that would certainly explain his promotion from Mr to OH :D

    1. 'Check engine' light appeared on dashboard so took the car to the garage. They ran a diagnostic check, had it up on the ramp, looked at everything but found nothing wrong, so didn't charge me for their 3/4 hour labour. Thought that was very kind of them :)
    2. While they had the car I walked :D to the local supermarket, did a small shop and walked back. About 75 yards each way took me an age, had to stop a couple of times, but I did it :j. Must have been all the good work I put in at pulm exercise class earlier this morning ;)
    3. Supermarket had lots of things I needed ys'd, celery, mange tout, bogof prawns, rhubarb, even milk! Duty manager let me leave it there while I went back to get the car. More kind people :)
    4. A small shower this morning, dampened the ground and still had to water but every little helps
    5. Sent my letter to the HA requesting permission to keep a few chooks. Was going to wait til I get back from holiday but I'm impatient! Fingers crossed :)

    Night night, sweet dreams
