hello, 5.20pm here & light starting to fade!
1.Up early as our landords were coming to do some repair work to house.
2.Our outdoor eating area (which I have never sat outside to eat in!) was seriously skanky & murky. The lads removed 2 filthy , shade sails so that has let in a bit more light and they repaired a broken panel. They have said they will replace all the panels (filthy, discoloured, fragile ....generally yukky) on the roof in a few months , which would be great! They cleared all the gutters, too.
3.They have discovered the gas to oven was not connected properly! (Yikes!) hence my oven not working properly, so that has been sorted .....I will be baking tomorrow so will see if there's a difference!
4.Went out for late lunch/early tea! which was nice!
5. Had a hot chocolate which was perfect, it has really cooled down here, coolest May in years. I had a scarf on when we were out and it was needed! Wind would have cut you in 2. Poured with even morer rain this morning. However, I've developed various ways for my washing to dry! The floor vented heating is actually keeping the rooms warm but only when it's on, doesn't maintain heat!
6. Got $450 credit for $26 (should be $29 but got a discount!) so that gives me a few phone calls home. About 15 minutes uses up $50.00. We can get free calls & texts to each other which is good, too.
Hope you all have a good weekend!0 -

1) Good day at work - manage to get my emails in my inbox down to less than 30 which is unheard of! I also got cracking with a couple of things that I have been putting off.
2) Went for drinks with my Meetup group. It really seems to be picking up we had 10 people there last night which is quite a nice size. I am just waiting for a gorgeous single man to join now...
3) Yummy lamb hotpot for supper with a couple of glasses of rioja before I went out, which saved me having to buy supper at the pub.
4) It's the weekend :j
5) Walked into town at lunchtime to visit the bank and find out why my ISA's haven't been transferred - they were fairly clueless. When I got home I had a letter waiting for my from then saying that they are going to chase up my previous banks and get it sorted.
Have a great day
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all.
1) A nice lie-in this morning.
2) Popped back to the little plant stall I contacted about volunteering as I haven't heard from them, and found that they definitely still want me and just haven't had time to phone me. They seem even more keen now they know I know about growing and cooking edible plants - I ended up staying for nearly half an hour answering queries on "what's this plant and what do you do with it?".
3) A lazy afternoon mooching along the seafront, then popping into a pub to watch the football. :footie:
4) Logging into the forum to find a whole thread on herb recipes - that's fantastic timing as I've somehow agreed to write some recipes for the stall in pleasure 2, using the herbs they sell. (Some of which I confess I've never come across before - red sorrel, anyone?)
5) One of my favourite meals tonight - squash, bean and chorizo stew.
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
hi all here's mine:
1. A lay in.
2. The rain stayed away so I got more washing done than expected
3. A rough add up whilst going round lidl was correct so I spent what I expected
4. Tidied the garden and sat out on the decking.
5. The freezer is packed - I find that comforting.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Evening all
1) Spent the £1 voucher I had for tesco - only on essentials though
2) Got the towels washed and lined dried....even though we had quite a few showers go through....one is still a little damp but it's hanging over the bannisters cos I refuse to use the TD
3) Very lazy day of reading and surfing
4) Got some bargains in Boots on the 3 for 2 on vitamins and using my Advantage card points
5) Using up the rest of the veggies in the fridge with a yellow sticky pie from the freezer
6) Neighbours cat popped round for an ear scratch and some attention- he's always good company
7) Skype chat with my friends 2.1/2 year old daughter - she's looking forward to seeing me soon :rotfl:
Hope you all had a great day

Ooh Frith, are you going to spill the beans?
1. It rained :j! Hardly enough to dampen the ground but it's 6 weeks since we've seen any so we were grateful for even that little bit
2. nsd
3. Caught up with filing, all the little piles of papers are now in their rightful places
4. Had two tiny but delicious eggs, which my friend gave me yesterday, for breakfast with a slice of WW soldiers. Not as nice as my hm bread but a lot less calories
5. Washing dried, ironing done, tiny bit of mending seen to, and all put away.
Night night, sweet dreams

5 for today (Saturday)
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Went to a nursery locally so the garden is nearly up to scratch now.
3) Went to see my sister briefly and her garden is looking good too!
4) Watched Dr Who and had hot dogs then popcorn.
5) Enjoying sitting on the sofa in front of the fire whilst watching Eurovision.0 -
Well Frith, what exactly is
supposed to mean then? :rotfl:
My five for Saturday:
1. DS1 has gone off to stay at a friends house and left the delish biscuits I'd bought for the friend's parents behind so he had to do a quick shop at the train station for something else with his money and I put the biccies away in the cupboard for the next time we need a seriously nice gift for someone's parents. I did not spend the day munching my way through designer biscuits myself which makes me feel very smug and virtuous.
2. Went through the fridge and fruitbowl and worked out how we can use up almost everything before the next veggiebox delivery.
3. Started the making for my pre-Christmas stall. I'm aiming to use up loads of my fabric stash with this so it'll be decluttering as well. Managed to incorporate one of the freebie swatch samples I got the other day in the post.
4. Stopped on a bridge in town to watch a black-feathered, red-beaked duck (I assume she was a duck. I'm not too good on waterfowl) keeping her three little ones together as they paddled back to her brilliantly hidden nest. The little ones were tiny and they too had black feathers and red beaks - very, very sweet. Real feel good stuff.
5. Stuffed courgettes (to use up the rest of the quorn mince) and mash for supper with kiwi fruit for pudding.
Sweet dreams

hello! Sunday evening here & a tad chilly!
1.Woke at 8am, I never usually sleep that long so nice not to wake up as early, especially on a Sunday.
2.We went to Ikea and got some new lamps for the lounge & family room so we are so much brighter looking! Got a few bits & bobs (as you do at Ikea) and new dressmaking scissors.
3.Came home & did monster ironing....so the pleasure is my laundry room is empty & tidy again! I miss getting it washed, ironed & away by 2pm which is what I was doing, now it's a full day to dry in the house!
4.Sat under my new lamp, started a new book and enjoyed a hot chocolate at one end of sofa & husband at other end like a pair of old bookends!
5. Easy tea of spag bol, made from reduced mince & cheap veggies!
I need to go & make cupcakes for PTA event tomorrow.....I said I would! First try at oven since it's been sorted so fingers crossed!
Enjoy your Sunday x0
