-
1. Booked my car in for a service and MOT later in the week and it should cost less than I was dreading!
2. OH had great consultant appointments and is going to get the treatment he wants rather than an operationSo pleased for him
3. Paid in a cheque to the bank and had a nice(ish) walk in town at lunchtime.
4. DD got the class teddy for a sleepover, she's so excited!
5. Took out two brand new fab looking books from the library
6. Ate some scrumptious delicious amazing chocolate (I know, not moneysaving, but a real naughty pleasure)
7. Planning a very early night - partly because my walk had a painful outcome but also because I want to go and curl up and read my books
8. Not really a pleasure but my work computer fix hasn't quite worked so I'll need to call IT in the morning and get it sorted, so I can't work tonight or early tomorrow morning!
9. Just noticed that Dirty Dancing is on at 8pm, yay, definitely going up to bed and really pleased that OH isn't here with me tonight as I'm pretty sure it won't be his kind of film.....
Right, bed is calling me, but DD is still up and being a pain in the wotsits, so I might have to get grouchy before I can relax.....*sigh*0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today:
1. More washing line dried today, washing basket is empty for today at least
2. More free cereal for breakfast, always tastes better when free
3. Lunch at the pub with the girls, nice not to be walking today
4. Easy dinner of sausage and bacon pasta
5. Apprentice on TV whilst I'm typing
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all
1) NSD
2) Lots of lovely free fruit at work
3) Sarnies and sausage roll left over from a meeting- managed to dodge to locusts to snaffle these - they were better than the old catering company ones too
4) Chat with best mate on the phone tonight - I'm hoping to go and visit her and my mum very soon
5) Rang the guy who mows my lawn and he's coming round tomorrow night to measure up again for the patio and he can sort out the fence too
6) In looking for the original quote for the patio I cleared out a whole carrier bag of paperwork - it will be going in the works shredder tomorrow - that doesn't include the 16 years worth of payslips and bank statements that I've still got to do
7) Pansies are looking great in the back garden
8) Still off the cigarettes and it's a lot easier now - get the occasional twinge but it's bearable :rotfl:
Hope you all had a good day
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
1. Planted out some seedlings
2. nice lunch with DH
3. Nice cup of red bush tea
4. hot water bottle to keep warm
5. chat with a neighbour.0 -
Mhagster - I'm going to factor in regular soup and pudding suppers from now on. I think that might just be the solution to our rushed evenings with DSs in the house at random times and both starving. Thanks for that.
My five for Wednesday:
1. Some really gorgeous, good-sized, freeby, linen fabric swatches arrived in the post today. I'll use them for applique or patchwork or something. (Can't possibly justify the cost of buying the fabric atm.)
2. Because of 1, I ended up sorting out my fabric stash and putting together a load of patchwork colour combinations which was fun. I'm thinking pretty seriously about trying to get a craft-type stall somewhere pre-Christmas so need to start getting making now.
3. Got through six loads of washing  and half of it line dried today (club sports kit). Weather permitting, the rest can get put out first thing.
4. Good conversation with DS1 about his current essay writing - he's really motivated at the moment and that's brilliant.
5. Managed to get out to Mr S to stock up on some essentials and picked up a few bargains (things that were on the list, not extras) so that was unexpected and useful.
Sleep well

Feel rubbish at the moment (same old, same old) but determined to think of 5!
1) Took my mum into town. Her sister (her only relation apart from we children) is just starting on 35 daily doses of chemotherapy so she is understandably worried.
2) Priced up bakelite light switch (very frivolous) for when my living room has been replastered. Don't think I'll be buying them at those prices!
3) Photos came through the post.
4) Made rather a tasty tea - spag bol then apple, raspberry and blackberry crumble.
5) Boys enjoyed karate.
6) Earlier in the day, got some more plants to fill up gaps in the garden. Not very OS but we could say the marigolds help keep pests away! ;-)0 -
Hi... flying visit... am shattered... will check everyone elses psots tomorrow...
1) Watch Qi being filmed - really good
2) Won on the lottery... a whole £2.60... don't think that will fund the lifestyle I have in mind
3) Almost a NSD... but I bought and ice cream while waiting for Qi
4) Tried on 9 things in Next and didn't buy any of them
5) Yummy lunch at the course I was on... good, fresh veggie sandwiches, crudites with hummus an tzatziki and fresh melon.
Night
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
1. Took DGD2 to the orthodontist, with DD. Her teeth have straightened enormously since her first appointment, he showed her before and now pictures which were amazing. Thank goodness for free dental treatment for children
2. Went to a nice pub for lunch, the barman/waiter was frosty but improved (ie nearly smiled) when I persisted in being pleasant to him. A really good meal and reasonable price made up for his 'wish I wasn't here' attitude
3. DGD2 passed her physics and biology mock GCSE's with A's. Very proud of her
4. Postie brought news that my pension is going up. Not by much but I'm luckier than a lot of workers, whose salaries have been frozen
5. A bit in advance but the bedroom suite which was supposed to be delivered in approx 28 days is arriving next Wednesday. Excellent service, now I just need find someone to put it all together...
Night night, sleep tight

Hello! Think we will need to grow webbed feet for all the rain today!
1. Was a nice mum & drove kids to school, however, traffic was horrendousThe pleasure was more theirs than mine!
2. However , I then came home & enjoyed a guilt free bath!
3.Had a nice day pottering about & tidying up (again!)
4.Went shopping & got a fair few items reduced. Had nice chicken( reduced last week) with soft cheese wrapped in bacon, baby sweetcorn (reduced), carrots & peas & roast potatoes! Very yummy! Had picked kids back up from school and we luckily just got home before a torrential downpour. It was like a river on the pavement and another on the road!
5. We had a new Aldi opened today in next suburb, so OH & I popped along. Same layout as others however, they had opening offers on some fruit & veg so took advantage of that!
So......as a treat, I bought 4 small bananas! (DD2 doesn't like fruit) so 1 each....much excitement! Were $6.00 for 750 grammes which works out at 3.90 pounds. Yikes! I am going to have mine on toast for my breakfast.....everyone else is saving theirs for there lunch.....the anticipation of it all!
6. My neice is going for her 2nd scan today so looking forward to hearing how she got on when I wake up tomorrow.....is that cheating? That'll be a tomorrow pleasure even though it's her today!
Hope you all have a lovely day x0 -
Evening all.
1) One of my favourite sandwiches - prawn and avocado - for lunch.
2) Being informed by a forumite on another thread that peanut butter can be included in my weightloss diet. :j
3) Finding a multipack of 3 garlic bulbs RTC simply because they're on their BB date. (And why does garlic even need a best before date anyway?)
4) Discovering that a work colleague and I share a fondness for Lakeland (the cookware company, not the area!), and that he could recommend an item I'm thinking of buying.
5) I've got tomorrow off work! :j:j:j
Have a lovely evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0
