Evening
CCP - Hugs to you, hope you have a better day tomorrow
Pleasures for today
1. Had a regional conference today so free bacon sandwiches and free lunch. Almost made the death by powerpoint worth it.
2. I won the quiz at the conference, the prize being a pedometer which I gave to my friend as she didn't have one
3. Another training walk today, just 5 miles tonight. Only one more short one to go before saturday:eek:
4. Low spend day. Just some cashew nuts for tonights dinner and a packet of fruit pastels
5. Tasty dinner of chilli beef and cashew nut rice which everyone loved.0 -
Evening all
Oldtractor - Hi there and welcome back
1) Finally getting the photos sorted for my new passport
2) Picking up some more books from the library
3) Chatting with my mum on the phone
4) Good day at work
5) Very nice pork chop and veggies for dinner
Hope you all had a great day.
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
5 for yesterday - felt very low yesterday but managed to get off my [STRIKE]ar[/STRIKE] backside and do something
1. tidied up my garden and replanted seeds to replace failed ones
2. coffee with a friend (why do loads of mine include lunch / coffee / drinks??:p )
3. whilst in town, popped in to home bargains and bought cheap toiletries
4. lost my first stone since "phyllis gate" (boxing day - when a dear old friend called phyllis told me she thought i'd put on weight! :rotfl:she meant it kindly but it went down like a lead balloon!)
5. Walking up to the village to collect DS from football training.
And for today
1. Cooking veggie risotto for tea - nothing more therapeutic than cooking risotto
2. walk with OH over the fields to the village, to deliver friends DD's birthday pressie (and giving her back some puzzles she'd loaned so reducing my clutter a little)
3. Big hug off DS for no apparent reason.
4. Family meal - doesn't happen often enough.
5. Getting paid to read "pride and prejudice" (was invigilating one student and didn't have marking at the time, so sat and read!)
5.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
CCP sending good vibes for a better day tomorrow
Oldtractor welcome back
Ladyhawk you wear me out just reading about all your exercise, boxing etc. Good that you enjoy it though
Been a long day but got lots of housework done, and
1. went to college and got my hair cut. The student was fairly new to cutting so the tutor showed her how to do it and the girl herself only made about four cuts. So I had a professional cut and blow dry for £5
2. Had to pass the garage where I saw fuel at 2p a litre cheaper than the other places locally so topped up while I had the chance
3. Postie brought me sachets of shampoo and conditioner, I really must stop applying for freebies as I swear I've enough to last me years now!
4. The potatoes are growing so tall it's difficult to walk along the side path so a friend helped me tie them back against the wall. I must look up to see if/when I can cut them back a bit
5. Secret Millionaire and Home is where the heart is on television. Light, easy watching with no blood and gore
Hugs to everyone who needs or just wants. Night night, sweet dreams

Hello again, oldtractor!
Here are my 5 or so for today.
1) Boys to school on time and in good humour.
2) Went into Hereford and had several good finds in the 2nd hand shops. Got 2 T shirts for me, jeans for bigger son plus a tin of good pencil crayons and a brand new pair of trainers and a book for smaller son. :-)
3) Had lunch in my favourite cafe and went in the cathedral.
4) Went to see dad and my brother had put a new spade handle on the metal bit of spade for me. (It is called a share??)
5) Tea went OK and I did a treacle sponge afterwards so everyone ate that.
6) Been invited out for tea by 2 friends.
7) House reasonably clean, tidy and organised. I'm getting very excited about the builder's quote, can't wait to actually have something done to the inside!0 -
Hello people:
1. Yippee! My prescription was waiting for me at the pharmacy this afternoon
2. Spent a lovely morning with OH then I dropped him home and his mum gave me and DD a punnet of sweet strawberries nomnom!!
3. Gave OH's mum a couple of £4 off £30 spend vouchers for Te$co's that I won't use - if I spend over £20 a time, I hyperventilate, lol
4. An old work colleague found me on Faceb0olk and we're now in touch, lovely to hear from him and see pictures of his gorgeous children
5. Had a lovely chat with OH's son on FB tonight and he told me how to upload photos, so there is now a very funny picture of OH online for the world to admire and chuckle at
6. Great fun at a teddy bear's picnic this evening with DD and friends
7. Not a pleasure for the office, but for me it was greatMy work laptop died on me this afternoon and can only be repaired when I'm physically in the office, so such a shame I had to email bosses and let them know I'll be in tomorrow
8. YS bread rolls in the village shop today0 -
Hi,
My five for yesterday are
1. Seeing a fox whilst walking in the morning, who stood and watched me until my dog decided a chase was in order.
2. Hearing a couple of cuckoos being very vocal.
3. Stir fry for tea using up a small amount of lamb from the freezer.
4. Some shampoo samples and a teabag through the post.
5. Reading some of my book which a collegue has lent me.0 -
hello from wet & cold Melbourne! Yuk! shouldn't have moaned so much about the heat should I?
1. Well enjoyed walk to school with DD2, at that point it was a cool but nice enough autumnal morning....enjoyed the birds & the trees throwing down their autumn leaves....
2. Came home & hung out washing....still bright at that point but cooler!...stripped a bed & that was another load out....then oh my! it lashed & lashed with rain! Eventually stopped long enough for me to bring in off line! So now have wet washing hanging everywhere! Anyway, rain is good for resevoir levels.....she says trying to think positively!
3. Apart from school , I stayed in all day & pottered & tidied & generally enjoyed being in the house myself.
4. Made a big pot of soup with squash, pumpkin, red onion ,potato & carrot & a wee drop of curry spices. Was lovely & just what was needed to warm up. Also made a pear sponge to use up pears which I'd bought reduced last week. Most tasty! Soup & pudding tea!
5.Curtains closed, noisy heating on and feeling quite cosy! (if I don't look at washing everywhere!)
Hope it's warm where you are!
Have a good Wednesday x0 -

Actually loving the idea of soup and pudding tea. As i am trying to lose weight I am missing my puds, this could be the answer once a week!
Sorry about your rainI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening all.
Thanks for your good wishes today - it was a bit better and at least contained no more remains of eaten sparrows.
mhagster - I'm with VJsmum - your soup and pudding evening sounds . I'd ask if I could come but it's a bit of a long trip even for a nice pudding!
Pleasures for today are a bit sparse, but I'll see what I can do:
1) Low spend day - just £2 on a punnet of grapes as I'm nearly out of fruit.
2) More MS than OS, but I finally got round to applying for a cashback credit card, which I've been meaning to do for ages.
3) My HG radishes are starting to sprout.
4) I've got Friday off, so only one more day of work to go this week! :j
5) Prawn stirfry for dinner: a couple of prawns will doubtless find their way into the mog's bowl - watching him eat his favourite prawns is always a pleasure!
Phew, made it to five! Made a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0
