Hello all, thought I'd summarise some recent highlights ... because I work from home mostly, I don't get many chances to inspire OS moments outside my four walls. But here goes.

    1. Going through beautiful rural Teesdale to work and back on Friday. Months since I've been up there, I am there every Friday for the next 8 weeks too, but the office there is closing, so after that, who knows?
    2. Seeing the learners again on Friday.
    3. Sharing with them the tin of chocolate biscuits I won in the raffle at the music club.
    4. Hunting down and getting a magazine I was after in the few minutes before my bus.
    5. Not buying clothes, but instead digging out lovely things from last year and getting them ironed when needed.
    6. Refreshing rain.
    7. Son cooking me a very healthy tea of chicken breasts and couscous. And other healthy meals when I'm working and he isn't.
    8. Free toiletries (shampoo, conditioner) in the post. A month's supply!
    9. Putting my specially adapted shoes in to a local cobbler for repair and finding out he can repair them. Woo-hoo. They are so comfortable and with disability it's incredibly hard to find stuff I can wear,
    10. Finding out I was ok wearing the shoes I bought to wear whilst comfy pair are in for repair, despite them not being adapted yet. (I have to have one raised a little)
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    Evening all,

What a lovely weekend, filled with good things.

    1) Roasted a large leg of lamb for myself this evening. It was blooming gorgeous! http://www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/r/roast_leg_of_lamb_with_garlic_and_lemon_potatoes.html
Though I think I am going to be eating the rest of it for a good few days to come!

    2) Played badminton this morning - first time in a few weeks and it felt good. Though one poor fellow injured himself really badly (don't know how) during the warm up and it was only his first time!

    3) Having a chat with my friend G on Skype. I have invited him to come with me to see Qi being filmed on Wednesday which we are both looking forward to.

    4) Rain overnight and gorgeous sunshine today. I didn't do any gardening today though as my hands are so mangled after yesterdays efforts (blisters, thorn marks, splinters...)

    5) Baked some cupcakes to take to work tomorrow to raise money for the moonwalk

    6) Finally got round to mixing up my muesli for breakie. It is nicer than the shop bought stuff, and I know it has no sugar or salt etc in.

    7) Got a load of washing done and more or less dried and will have clean bedding tonight... when I get round to putting the clean duvet cover on.

    8) Afternoon nap

    9) Psych was on the Universal channel... it's very silly but enjoyable nonetheless.

Have a enjoyed rest of your weekend and "see" you all tomorrow.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Evening all.

    1) Nice chat on the phone with my DM and DF. :)

    2) Made some more olive rolls, but found I didn't have as much olive paste left as I thought so I've got half a batch of olive and half a batch of red pesto.

    3) Swifts screaming round the roof-tops - it's the sound of summer for me.

    4) Found 5p on the floor.

    5) A night out with friends got cancelled at the last minute, but I'm actually quite selfishly grateful at the prospect of an early night instead. :o

    Have a nice rest-of-evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    5 for yesterday

    1. Seeing my lovely sister for the first time in ages.
    2. Also seeing many of my lovely nieces and a nephew (baby) for the first time in ages and loved how the nephew just took my hand to walk round a supermarket, when he couldn't possibly remember me.
    3. A good night's sleep at dads, find it hard and sad being there without my mum but managed to sleep last night.
    4. nice bottle of wine and curry with dad
5 Starbucks not having any croissants so i didn't rack up the weightwatchers points!

    And for today

    1. Dads roast spuds - no-one does them like him
    2. Coming home - love my house, messy as it is.
    3. My OH acting the fool.
    4. Taking a new dress back to Fat Face cos it looked awful and gaining £45 that I didn't need to spend.
    5. Lovely cup of tea at Euston station - not very MSE but welcome nonetheless
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Still no rain here and a stunning red sky this evening so looks like tomorrow will be dry, too. Not complaining, I'm managing with grey water but the lawn is the last to get watered so is turning a bit brown in places

    1. Called in to homebase to get some more herbs, the salesgirl asked the lady in front of me if she had a Nectar card and she said no, saw me holding mine and said would I like her points. She spent £46 so yes please!
    2. Went to the usual Sunday lunchtime meeting, almost everyone takes a plate of finger food now and we have a wee get together after the meeting. A good way for the singletons, in particular, to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday
    3. called into Mr A on my way home, picked up 5 (!) boxes of cereal and a tray of yogurt as they're all on offer atm. Saved almost £6 on the usual price
    4. There are tiny blackberries and loganberries on my plants :D
    5. There's a beautiful clear sky showing the quarter moon up there
    6. One from yesterday, renewed my library membership which I'd not used for three years. I usually buy books from the charity shops which is ridiculous as the library is free and almost directly opposite.

    Night night, sleep tight

    Evening all

    1) Nice lay in
    2) Very chilled out day reading newspapers
    3) Getting my clothes dry and not having to do any ironing
    4) Chats with friends over the internet
    5) Lots of yummy easy food
    6) Very relaxing bath

Was a bit annoyed because it rained from 5pm yesterday until about 5pm today and soaked my washing so I ended up having to spin it and tumble dry it...........then the sun came out :o

Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend.

CCP- do you have a recipe for your olive rolls? They sound deelish!

    1. NSD :)
    2. NPD :)
    3. DD had lots of fun doing some "karate" today and I remembered she had a gorgeous cheongsam in her wardrobe that she's now just grown into, so she felt very authentic
    4. We spent a lovely morning with OH before he went back home, but he's booked to come and babysit/stay over tomorrow,
    5. Enjoyed the sunshine and got reasonably up to date with the washing and drying outside
    6. Lovely girly chum has popped over for a non-alcoholic beverage, a nice way to end a fabulous weekend
    7. Watching Little Britain and still finding it very funny :)
    8. OH liked his home-made gluten free bread, thank goodness as the rest of the loaf is now sliced and in the freezer!
    9. DD and I liked our home-made wholemeal bread....and there's only a couple of crumbs left ;)
    10. Have got all DD's packed lunches ready for the week, yippee, less to do in the morning :)

Sparrer, that sounds exciting about your hens. Will they be rescue ones?

    My five for Sunday:

    1. DS1 made a mistake about the start time for his conservation group event and woke me earlier than needed to drive him to it. We ended up arriving much too early but it did mean that my day started much sooner than I'd planned which was good.

    2. The 'new' fridge is working brilliantly and it's all ready for my mega veggiebox order on Tuesday.

    3. Listened to the start of a new play on the radio.

    4. Started to make plans for getting a wholefood co-op up and running.

    5. Watching the single-mindedness of the birds in our garden collecting twigs for nest building. They are just so focussed on what they are doing and don't get distracted. Wish I could be like that about keeping our house clean! :rotfl:

    Sweet dreams

5 for today, quite quick because it's the middle of the night!

    1) Went to Warwick Castle with the boys.

    2) Another sunny day and a picnic lunch.

    3) Boys happy and especially enjoyed the falconry, which surprised me.

    4) Tea made by MrN carried over to our house for us.

    5) School friend came round.

    6) Made some flapjacks that didn't crumble into dust!

Haven't managed to post this weekend.

Here are mine for the weekend.

    1. Finding more asparagus and delaying my morning walk slightly and staying dry.

    2. Listed items on ebay as it was free listing weekend.

    3. Found some flower seeds that I had saved so planted them and hopefully some will grow.

    4. NSD yesterday

    5. HM shepherds pie for tea and put one in the freezer.

    6. Made some cakes to cook at the same time.

    7. Managed to iron early on Sun morning with cheap electricity.
