Evening, everyone. I've been trying to get some offline time lately to try and get more stuff done. Here's some pleasures though:

    1. Started doing yoga and flexibility exercises and feel much leaner because of it.
    2. My sister finished drawing a special "Kitchenbunny" lever arch file for me. I've been putting recipes in it so I have a good kitchen reference/domestic management file.
    3. Waking up to the fact it had been raining (sadly no thunder & lightning though - I love a good storm!)
    4. Getting 2/3 of the lawn raked. There's still a third to go, but it is looking a lot better for having the moss raked out of it. Hard work!
    5. Starting to "make the most of myself" every day. I'm finding it empowering putting on a bit of lippy and doing my hair nicely. :)

(((hugs))) to those in need - am thinking of you.

    Evening all

Ladyhawk - Good luck with the interview - informal chats are always good
Sparrer - I think I'm a little bit cynical sometimes - I always think I've been invited to interviews because I'm female - we are very rare in my industry and all companies have to employ a certain amount :o
jintyB - I felt like a rabbit caught in the headlights for a little while there - still can't be sure how I did
VJsmum - I know what you mean - I'd give anything to sit and have a chat with my dad again
Frith - Sorry to hear about MrN and your problems with the ex :(
mhagster - that Mars bar cake sound lush

    1) My pansies are in flower :)
    2) Went into town to get my nails done - got the 4 deals for the price of 3 and 10% off
    3) When I got into town I found there was an international market on - I love to stroll round and look at everything but managed to resist buying anything :p
    4) Chat with the ex on the phone - apparently the dog has been enjoying some swimming in the sea recently :D
    5) Getting in some more reading
    6) Using up loads of leftovers :)

Hope you all had a good day.

I wish I could have sent you some of mine - it started here about 10 o'clock last night and continued on and off until late afternoon today. Even I was getting a bit tired of all the rumbling and flashing by that time, and I love a good storm too! :)

ETA - I spoke too soon - it's just started rumbling again!
Back after a very long break!

Hey (((((Frith))))) have some hugs from me too. Your children are so fortunate to have you as their mum.

    My five pleasures for today:

    1. At long last, I have got the fridge we have been storing in the kitchen cleaned, dried and ready for use. It still works fine and it means that I can defrost the landlady's inbuilt fridge-freezer which I hate and use a fridge that I can actually reach into and clean easily. This has been one of those jobs that I have been meaning to do for ever and I'm very pleased with myself!

    2. Entered a local competition to win hens and a henhouse. Well, why not?

    3. Fishcakes and salad for supper.

    4. I got a letter today about something that is going to be potentially very disruptive and a real nuisance and I surprised myself by immediately thinking of a positive outcome from it. :D

    5. Another sit down to knit while listening to a radio programme.

    Sleep well,
    B x

CCP thanks for the link, I've had a quick glance and it looks more relaxed than the ones with a strict regime. Will read more later.
Carolyntia I agree in part but they're not going to be interested in man or woman if they don't have the right qualifications/experience. Think positive :)
Kitchenbunny it drizzled here overnight but was gone and the ground was almost dry by the time I got up, and the day has been quite bright. So much for the storms forecast here for today, seems they've gone down south to Hants!
MHags pleased your net is behaving atm - not so pleased you had lemon meringue though, I love it but it's not on my eating plan :(
(((Frith))) sorry you're still in a tough place. Hope you come through the other end soon. Never doubt yourself as a mother, the fact the boys don't want to go to their father is proof of that.
Broomstick good luck with the competition. I'm hoping to get three hens in the next month or so, as you say, why not? :D

    1. nsd
    2. Went to Homebase and got some herbs with nectar points. Funny thing is when I 'bought' them I got nectar points!
    3. Stained the curtain pole, it's pretty good if I do say so meself :p
    4. Postie brought me a freebie bottle of foundation. Unfortunately it was broken, fortunately for postie and me it was in a bubble lined envelope cos when I opened it, it went everywhere!
    5. Not really OS but gave next doors LO the cornettos from my freezer, and enjoyed a slice of melon instead for my mid- evening snack.

Hugs for everyone who needs/wants, night night n sweet dreams

    Evening all,

Sounds like most people have had fairly good days.

Sparrer - we didn't get much rain here either - in fact it hadn't even permeated the mulch on my veggies... grr!!

    1) Had a lie in

    2) Mooched around the tinternet this morning and came across a seed swapping website on the greenfingers board and have written off them them to see if I could swap some flower seeds which I i have no idea why I bought for some veggie seeds. They have written back to confirm so I will post them on Monday. Very MSE as I was about to spend £15 on seeds from a online shop!

    3) Spend over 3 hours pottering around the garden, weeding and planting out seedlings. I have moved nearly all my tomato seedlings from the propogator to little pots. I have hundreds of the blighters so will have to take some into work to give away, along with the courgette and broad bean mountain!

    4) Went out to dinner at a local greek restaurant with my local Meetup group... I had their set menu which was good value (3 HUGE courses for £20). I couldn't finish it so surruptitiously wrapped the baklava in a napkin to bring home! The food was fabulous, and the staff so friendly (but not overly so). They had live music, dancing, plate smashing... and there was only one other table of 2 there besides us. It was so sad!!! I did leave a much bigger tip than usual. I really do hope that they survive the hard times.

5)Remembering seeing a man riding a large unicycle down the road on the way home from work yesterday which made me smile.

    Night all

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Yesterday's goodies, sorry it's all a bit waffly but it is 5am and I can't sleep!!

    1. Waking up feeling fresh as a daisy due to not drinking on Friday night out, might try it again sometime! :)
    2. Waking up next to my beloved OH :)
    3. Lots of cuddles and chats with DD :):) As she's had lots of playdates and teas out this week, I felt like we'd been missing our hugs a bit so glad we restored the balance :)
    4. OH showed DD some very silly cartoons on Utube and has probably gone even higher in her estimation as apparently they were "cool" (think trumping dinosaurs!! :0) )
    5. DD was taken out to a school event by a friend and her children and had a whale of a time
    6. DD was given tea and watched football with the friends after the school thing.
    7. Like a complete idiot I refused to listen to advice of those who love and care for me and insisted on driving to a local supermarket to "roadtest" (excuse the pun) how it would affect my leg, if at all in anticipation of going into the office on Monday. Badly is the answer! I can't sleep as it's hurting so much that the painkillers aren't touching the sides, just like it did when I actually fell :(:( But the pleasure is that I have DD and OH who instead of saying I told you so, gave me lots of love :)
    8. Spent less than anticipated at the supermarket because I was sensible and apart from some YS strawberries, only bought what I actually needed right now rather than getting "bargains". Trying to do a storecupboard challenge - and OH paid half as some of it was for him (meat stuff) :)
    9. OH really enjoyed his dinner of chicken stew which I'd made using the leftovers from our dinner party last month and froze - actually good job he likes it as he's got 2 more meals' worth in the freezer!! As I don't eat meat I had no idea what it would taste like and had said that if it was gruesome then I'd do fishfingers and chips, but I'm very glad it was tasty for him :)
    10. Nice chat with my dad on the phone yesterday morning with DD chipping in on the other handset which she thought was hilarious!
    11. Making vague plans to see various friends who couldn't make it out on Friday night but who want to celebrate my 40th :)
    12. Had a nice afternoon nap (no a real sleep, nothing that would make your hair curl, lol) with OH whilst DD was out as he was feeling, yup, ill. He woke feeling much better :) I really wish I could wave a wand and get rid of his illness, and I love his positive attitude to life and how we could turn a desperate need to sleep to try and get better into a let's have a nice cuddle and snooze - which actually did me good too (until I drove the car.....oops)

Right, waffle over, I'm going to hobble back upstairs and try to get to sleep. As I'm such a bad mother, I'm going to get the cereal and bowl/spoon out so DD can help herself if she wants to get up before me!!

Wishing everyone a lovely day today and (((hugs))) to those that need them,

2.been a rainy day so lessens guilt about bath!
3.went out briefly to pick up photographs....got them for 9c a print but had to wait 24 hours to get them.....however it was dry when I went out & had autumn leaves swirling round my feet & crunching underfoot! Lovely!
4.Enjoyed a favourite dinner of gammon joint(reduced), roast potatoes, roast pumpkin(reduced) & parsnip (reduced), carrot & turnip (reduced) and cheese sauce.
    5.Rhubarb crumble for pud!

Oz version of Strictly Come Dancing has just started! Same theme tune! Don't know many of the 'celebs' though! However, will have to channel hop as Master Chef is on too!

    Enjoy your day !

Hope Strictly & Masterchef chill you out MHagster and that tomorrow is a better day - mind you, I'd be delighted after having your dinner (with the exception of the gammon), rhubarb crumble is one of my favourites :) x
