    Hey there to you all,

    I've missed you guys!

Although I didn't used to post all that much,I used to be very addicted to reading everyone's posts and loved to catch up with what was going on. Haven't really been on here for ages as life has got busier- we now have a baby, of the 4 legged variety- a very cute and bouncy puppy, and she has taken up quite a lot of time and energy! Lovely though-and easier than an actual baby, although puppy maternity leave would be good!

Just had interview for new job today- was a bit of a long shot but went for it anyway. The interview itself I thought was TERRIBLE- could barely answer the simplest of questions but when I received feedback they said I came close second and was very close between me and successful candidate- was so amazed I almost swore at the man on the phone!

Don't think I have 'met' Carolyntia before but hope yours was more successful than mine. Just reading your posts makes you stand back and think about things-however stressful life gets the simplest things keep you going and mean the most. My mother and father in law have the most enviable life because they pretty much live like Tom and Barbara and want for nothing, they are the most content people I know but they have the most simple life.

Later I will add my 5 but just wanted to say 'hi' again and how I've missed you and can't wait to get back in touch with your goings on

    Evening all

Thanks for keeping everything crossed for me today - you can relax now :j

Interview seemed to go quite well....answered lots and lots of questions......the general day to day ones were quite easy but a couple of the technical ones had me stumped :o. I was honest and said I didn't know - these are things you can't bluff your way through I'm afraid.

They pointed out that this was the first interview and that they would reduce the numbers and all those successful would be invited to the second....as they're recruiting quite a lot and doing lots of interviews then I wouldn't hear anything until at least the end of May.

There was one little shock however - the position would require the person to become a resident of Shetland  :shocked:_pale_- it was advertised as a rotational job but has since changed - I know that this would put a lot of people off but I'm still not too sure how I would feel about it if it was offered to me. They also asked if I wasn't successful if I would be happy to work on any of their other sites :D.

I'm just glad that I got the interview out of all those people - it gave me faith in my CV again and gave me some renewed confidence :D

Thank you again you lovely lovely people

I'll be back with my pleasures later, now off for a bath and a very large glass of wine.

    Sounds promising Carolyntia :)

    Hello again ott09 :)

    Today....

    1. Feeling a bit miffed with OH as he didn't come over today (but didn't actually let me know, I just had to work it out for myself) as he is feeling grotty, but feeling very happy that he is saying he's determined to come out tomorrow night with me and my friends to formally celebrate last week's birthday :) It's a very regular thing isn't it, I should be used to his illness after 5 months, but every time I still get a little bit paranoid that he's avoiding me and then blissfully happy when it's obvious that he isn't *sigh*
    2. NSD
    3. NPD
    4. Managed to hobble about without crutches most of the day, yippee!! Of course I've done too much during the day again and am suffering now but I am seriously bored of this now......
    5. A lovely chap came and quoted for a pretty handrail to be installed outside my front door, I'll have to save up but hopefully all these NSDs and NPDs are going to help!
    6. DD has been out playing at a friend's and has just come back tired and happy :)
    7. A neighbour popped in for a natter this evening
    8. Had cuddles with a friend's toddler and chat with her older son when I babysat them for a little while this evening
    9. Nice chat with my mother on the phone
    10. Went through all my clothes and have tidied away all the ones that don't fit as I've got larger again :( but realised that I do still have a fair amount of clothes I can still wear, phew! So my online meanderings through clothes websites can STOP RIGHT NOW as I don't need anything! :):) So I can save more towards my handrail!

    1. Salvaging the last of the strawberries to make a compote for porridge tomorrow.
    2. Using up leftovers for lunch and it being fab.
    3. Not really having to cook as we had the same for dinner tonight as last night.
    4. Getting all my towels washed and dried - bedding tomorrow!
    5. Clearing my "to do list".

Oh and hubby treating me to a tub of posh ice cream from Asda when picking up my meds - well, posh for us :rotfl:
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Hi all,

    Here's some of mine:

    1. Ordering a new laptop lid from ebay and OH fitting it so now we don't have a floppy laptop lid!! (the hinges had gone) - plus it cost under £30 for that and another bit which is much cheaper than a new lappy.

    2. Walked home from work. Still grateful that I am able (hugs to all those who aren't), sometimes we take our health for granted.

    3. The drugs from the Dr are working so now my hayfever is nearly under control and much more bearable.

    4. Leftover casserole will be my lunch tomorrow - so no need to worry.

    5. Mentioning disappointment that the substituted grocery items meant I no longer go the offer and delivery man offered to refund the substituted item and let me keep it, as a gesture of goodwill! :D

    6. Finding out last night that the shower gels requested by stepson are on offer at sainsbug and so ordered him 2 (he doesn't actually ask for many things).

    7. Buying beads to make a work colleague earrings (she professed how her earrings and her necklace didn't quite match as much as she usually likes) - took 5 mins to make and cost a bargainous £1.10 (sshhh ;)) - and she was well chuffed :D

    8. one last one - as the bus went round the corner this morning, some coppers fell on the floor some seats ahead. The lady in front asked if I had dropped any money, realised no-one was near so picked it up and seemed really pleased. Nice of her to check first and good to see how just a little change can make someone smile.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

Evening all (said in a policeman's voice :))

    1. boys off school today (school is a polling station) and had lovely, easy day with them. They behaved really well considering had to be up normal school time for an early dentist appointment (for me with a new dentist...a long story but not a good one...maybe another time...)Also had to pop to docs and vote. Got boring stuff out of way and went to big pet shop which we all love, I have to resist the urge to rabbitnap a bunny. Later went to local park and library. Chose so many books between us, I could hardly carry them even with DS2 (aged 6 ) carrying a few, some were hardbacks and/or enormous kids books as well.

    2. NSD (apart from dentist and I'm not counting that) Resisted huge urge to take boys to coffee shop for a cake (and coffee and cake for me too of course!) Any excuse to go, I'm terrible but I did stop myself today. YAY! And found 10p on floor to boot.

    3. Had a really lovely email from a friend offering to have boys for a day so DH and I can have some time together on our own (we are struggling through a bad patch. I put on a brave face to everyone else but unfortunately due to combination of illness and marital stuff had to cancel a visit from them to us and for once said why) Also offered us use of their house while they are away in August so we can have a "holiday" as these are usually far and few between - though see 4

    4. Holiday in just over 3 weeks to Norfolk, us 4 and my parents who are generously renting a cottage for us all. DH and I are on driving duty in return. I'll be chauffering them in Dad's car and DH the kids in our car. Hoping a week away and some babysitting in eve will help ease things at home, even if just some respite.

    5. Just soaked my aching feet in a bowl of warm, bubbly water. Heaven.

Re-reading, some of these not particularly OS but all positive so that's good enough for me!

night night, hope tomorrow brings good cheer to you all :D

    Hi Everyone,

Just a flying visit today as it is waaaay past my bed time (shameful really... I'm only 31!)

    1) Voted

    2) Agreed a contract at work which has been dragging for a little while. It is one of the biggest ones that we have as a company and I absolutely hate negotiating it every year, so it is such a relief for it to be finished.

    3) Got an interview with one of our major competitors who are offering what would be a good pay rise... the more I think about it though the less I really want it. There is no harm in going for an informal chat though...

    4) Did a Reverbe and found 2p

    5) NSD - too a avocado, asparagus, baby spinach, cherry tomato salad... yum!

    Night night... sleep tight.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Hi all just a quick post tonight cos I can't keep my eyes open a lot longer
Carolyntia will continue to keep everything x'd that you get the posoition you want, be it in the Shetlands, another branch or another company. Sounds as if they're keen if they're asking you if you'd work elsewhere for them
VJsmum bless you ;). Get well now

    1. just heading to the salon this morning when DD phoned, could I take her (and one of the dogs ;)) to the vet. Turns out it wasn't anything serious and the vet was very inexpensive as vets go. And I saved my money, decided I don't really need to go to the salon and later made an appt at the college hairdressers for tomorrow instead.
    2. Phone call from DS to tell me he's sent me a modem to replace my worn out one
    3. I love this weather but was so pleased when rain was forecast here for the weekend. Just to fill the water butts would be good
    4. Did a fortnights shop this pm, saved £7.12p on bogofs etc. Nice to see pet food reduced too, that helps a lot. The fridge is now filled with low cal, low fat foods, I'm determined to lose some of this weight before I go away
    5. Cleaned the kitchen and lounge, it's nice to be able to sit in a tidy room. Trouble is I never get any visitors when I've just tidied up, only when I've had a lazy day! :o

    Night night, sleep tight
