Hi Everyone,
I didn't post last night as I got back late from a work presentation and went straight to bed.
I'm feeing rather bleugh tonight.. . I came home early from work and then slept for 4 hours!
1) Having a job which meant that when I could leave early.
2) a little of rain this afternon which was good for the garden - I wish there had been a little more
3) Easy supper which was also easy on my tummy... soup which I had made on Sunday from some lamb bones
Think that may be all for today.... it hasn't been a particularly good day. I stretched over to answer the phone and my shirt ripped across the bicep! Really annoying as I liked that shirt! Then even more dramatically I had a cheese panini and basil for lunch and it had LETTUCE in! and no basil!
Night all
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Ladyhawk - hope you feel a bit better soon ((hugs))
Sorry I've not been about lately - I've not really had many pleasures as such to list. Here are a few though:
1. Starting a seed and glut exchange with family and friends to make the most of any excess seed (for next year) and food.
2. The woodpecker is back in the garden and happily eating the ants.
3. Found a packet of Stevia seeds to try and grow. I like different things.
4. Dad is going to help me design and (hopefully) make a raised bed for next year. I've been daydreaming a bit at weekends and lunch hours about having a raised bed divided into 12 sections where I can harvest something every month of the year...
5. Getting a bit of rain.
Have a good evening, everyone.

just to say thanks for good wishes, I've got up early to have some 'me' time before everyone else needs to get up & under my feet! I am looking forward to going in & finding out all what job will entail...bought new comfy shoes and wore them for about 6 hours yesterday & they were fine...will probably be a in a heap of exhaustion tonight as I've not worked for just over 7 months! However, it will be so good to get out & about & met new people & interact with people again.....give me a few days & I'll be moaning about customers again!!
I am really looking forward to earning money instead of just spending it! Right had better switch computer off & go & get ready!0 -
Thanks for all the good wishes. :-)
Ladyhawk - I'm not sure I even possess any biceps! If I do, they wouldn't be of the shirt tearing variety. :-D I think I'm imagining Incredible Hulk type muscles.
Kittikins - hope Miss Kittikins gets well soon.
Well done, MHagster.
Here are my 5 for today:
1) Cup of tea brought for me this morning by OH. :-)
2) Bigger son stopped feeling sick and anxious and went on the first of a 3 day outward bound type course. He did sailing and canoeing today, got all his clothes (inc spares) wet and came home using his sweater as trousers with his legs down the sleeves!
3) Went to Ikea with a friend and her baby. Was very good and only got freezer bag clips and something OH wanted. Then got to the food shop and was less controlled...
4) Took 2 boys to karate. Smaller son was being particularly special this evening but the sensei afterwards said he had read son's enrolment form (about his SEN) and asked if I wanted to bring him earlier each week so he could do some 1 to 1 work with son! How kind was that. :-)
5) Had run out of logs (want to use them up) so OH brought round a barrow load and the stove is going nicely.
6) Have caught up on all wet washing so have nothing to do now except sit here with a cup of tea and watch Holby City on iplayer.0 -
Hope all the poorlies feel better now.
Not the best of days but trying to find some silver linings -
1. Weigh day and lost .2 of a lb. Hardly earth shattering but better than gaining it
2. The new bedroom furniture arrived, the delivery men kindly took it upstairs for me although it's not in their remit. The offer of a cup of tea works wonders
3. A very unexpected but very acceptable refund from DVLA
4. It 'rained'. Didn't actually wet the ground completely but it's a start. Odd that I went three miles in the car and had the wipers on almost all the time, except when I was in my village!
5. Good, and free, evening out with friends
Night night, sleep well

Morning
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. Meeting up with a lady I used to work with for lunch, so nice to catch up.
2. Having a moan to DD's school, not a pleasure but hopefully some of the issues she is having will get sorted now
3. Trip to Mr.T where we managed to get lots of RTC things, bought some really good quality meat for very little money plus a couple of different things that DD hasn't tried venison and veal. Not sure how she will react to venison might not tell her what it is until she has tried.
4. Bit more garden clearance carried out this afternoon, will get there
5. finding £3 in my bum bag that I use for walking
Hugs to all who need them
Mhagster - hope you enjoy your first day at work today0 -
Kitchenbunny - welcome back
Yesterdaywas an ok day
1. DS2 managed to walk to drs and home again. It took him about 1 hour. No info on what dr actually said! The consultation appears to have been undertaken in complete silence.
2. Managed to finish my book - couldn't leave the school I was working in for 1/2 hour after I had finished.
3. DS2 cooked tea. He may eventually do the washing up after.
4. My cress seeds are growing. I found the packet a couple of days ago and they should have been sowed by2008!!
5. A cheque in the post.0 -
hello! I am soo tired but in a good way! Was fine at work until walking back to my car & then I thought oh! my legs are tired!
1. got there in more than enough time, I've not driven in rush hour traffic in over a year so gave myself plenty of time to get there.....managed to get free parking today & will chance my luck tomorrow!
2.Everyone was very friendly....I am probably old enough (and I don't think I'm old) to be their mother! The business just opened on Tuesday so we are all quite new.
3.No iced apple cakes for me.......porridge (bleurgh!) for breakfast for staying power! My kids love the stuff & I have to it force down......then fruit for lunch! Lots of water to drink! Maybe I'll lose the extra pounds that have crept back on since Easter!
4.Home....and easy mince & tatties for tea.
5.Long lie in the bath!
Will be in bed early tonight!0 -
1. Spending time on the allotment
2. weekly supermarket shop, found a few bargains and although overall the prices have increased, especially the fresh fruit and veg, I was grateful for being able to buy food and not being hungry.
3. enjoying my cats cuddling on the fleece blanket on the sofa.
4. feeling blessed with family and friends.
ETA number 5 forgot it! watching Superscrimpers on iplayer.0 -
1. Finally getting those things into the loft that have been cluttering up the bedroom
