Thought would quickly post my five as busy today.
1. Good relaxed day at work and double time!
2. DS2 did really well in his cricket match and got 5 wickets and the team won.
3. Lovely walks with my dog. Walked my normal walk the other way round and everywhere looks different.
4. Cooked some sausages and cake for toay.
5. Ebay items sold.0 -
A quick look-in and G'day to mhagster:wave: - yes, re:Blochairn. This was my 2nd visit to Glasgow and I agree re:hour and trauma for peeps unused to same. Odd consonance, I sold an interesting silver brooch about this time 3 Sundays ago at Jas de Robert, outside Grimaud, and was thinking then that it was one I'd bought in a joblot of jools bought at Blochairn
The circularity of things...
1.So much resonance with 'The Elegance of the Hedgehog', finished a bit before 5 this morning, but very much with me still, as this is a universe I live one of my lives in anyway. Reassuring - there are times we need this.
2. ...except had to stop every so often, because R4's Living World was a marvellous o/b chez Raft Spiders. No prizes for guessing I'm about to add podcast linky:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/nathistory
3.......which has sparked my interest in some of the others listed. A pleasure in store.
4. Having just read through very mixed reviews in French Press, Left and Right, will think instead of 'L'H!risson' as possibly filmed by Claire Denis, in a suitable 'Imagine' book comment for yesterday.
5. Another from Library yesterday. From only the flimsiest snatch of something overheard, great librarian traced this for me[realise I was in France during R4 broadcasts]:I'm no. 8 on reservations list.
6. In showercoat over nightie, checked car sunroof - watertight[hasn't been:mad:] despite heavy-ish rain. Bon!:T Took the new sweet peas, purple peppers[thankyou annie123]and rtc basils outside for drink.
7. One piece of music I particularly like - from Glasgow, St Mary's Cathedral and next, David Attenborough. That's enough of a listening start to day.
8. Realising big square pyrex dish for traybakes must be with L. in next village - left with rest of cake for her household before going to France. Need it for Tuesday. Fingers crossed.A blowy Sunday here and forecast is turbulent, changeable.

Evening all.
ampersand - it's lovely to see you back - your posts are always so interesting to read.(As are everybody else's, of course!)
Mine for today (five, I hope, although I've been pondering a minor moral dilemma today which has left me feeling a little less than cheerful):
1) Nice lie-in this morning after a restless night (it's incredibly windy on the south coast of the whooshes and crashes kep waking me up).
2) Chatting to my DM on the phone - always nice, and she was able to give me some advice on the best way to proceed with the problem I've been worrying at all day.
3) Noticed my day in the sun yesterday has left me with a faint pale line where my watch is, which must mean I'm starting to take on a bit of colour.
4) My sweet williams are starting to come out in flower.
5) Bacon sarnie for dinner.
6) Received a text from some friends inviting me out for a drink tonight - I'm not sure I really fancy it, but at least it will stop me from brooding.
Have a pleasant evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
5 for yesterday
1. Clearing that terrible bit of front garden that made me depressed every time i pull up in front of the house
2. Family outing - even if it was only to the shopping centre (prob not OS)
3. Lovely meal out with friends last night (prob not OS either!)
4. Made yummy flapjacks to take to friend's today.
5. Planting some of my sprouting things into pots - still don't know what some of them are.
And for today
1. Lovely walk by the canal with friends, even tho it's a bit blustery
2. Lovely meal with friends we haven't seen for a while.
3. Cheerful chat with dad on phone.
4. Ploughing on with marking even tho I didn't want to.
5. Winning a fat face top on flea bay for not much.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening
Ampersand - Lovely to see you posting and you deserve to treat yourself sometimes.
CCP - Hope you manage to sort out your dilemma without too much more stress for you.
Pleasures for the last couple of days:
1. We were supposed to be at a wedding yesterday but had been cancelled. I had pre-paid for the hotel stay so OH and I decided to go anyway and enjoy a night away together.:kisses2:
2. Walk around a different towns shopping centre, some interesting statues and I didn't spend any money
3. DD had a nice time staying with grandparents
4. More cheap lego today with a newspaper
5. Stocked up on toiletries for OH and DD today in the £ shop. Both have very sensitive skin and finding products they can use is a pain but had lots of the shower gels both like today so stocked up as normally have to pay at least twice the amount
6. More garden clearance, can now start to see a bit of a difference.
7. Easy dinner of pasta bolognaise followed by a RTC cake
Hugs to all who need them0 -
A whole weekend's joys to share
Yesterday's were typed whilst a wee bit tipsy....but I'm as sober as a judge now
Ampersand- Tim Minchin, what a star
Ladyhawk - love the sound of your lie in......but never seem to manage it (well, on the odd occasionbut very rarely....*sigh *)
Saturday's goodies....now bear in mind I have
1. Enjoyed a lovely bottle of white wine all to myself!!! Eeek not my usual modus operandii but my parents are around and they kindly brought wine and I didn't have to drive and, and, and....
2. NSD as hoped for, yippee!!
3. Saw my beautiful, talented, gorgeous, serene DD dance like an angel in her show
4. OH met my parents and they obviously don't hate him.....but sadly they haven't said anything either positive or negative, so guess they're ambivalent, which to be honest is ..........o.k, not ideal but better than it could have been...
5. Chatting to a silly friend on MSN
6. Made us a delicious dinner that got compliments from the guests (i.e. my parents, lol).
7. Enjoyed the sunshine
8. Got 4 or 5 loads of washing done and dried on the line today
9. Tidied the bottom half of the house
10. Managed to walk around without using a crutch!! THink the wine has helped........
11. Did a survey so looking forward to me luncheon vouchers turning up soon - and allegedly they've reissued 2 sets that went missing in the post, so I will feel "rich" soon!
Sunday....
1. Didn't feel too bad after my wine *hic*
2. Parents took us out for a scrumptious lunch at our favourite restaurant in the world
3. low spend day
4. no petrol day
5. DD and I went for a walk to the park and bought some YS raspberries and other fruit, so we sat in the park talking about clouds and chomping berries, divine!
6. The house is still vaguely tidy!
7. My dad mowed the lawn for me
8. A friend has popped over for a glass of wine

Evening all,
Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend.
1) Played badminton... one of the guys, who must be in his late 30's, had a hissy fit over whether we were playing to 15 points or 21 points. Cue much swearing, throwing of racquets and stomping off the court. Silly man!
2) Pottered around the garden and cleared the weeds from the second to last flower bed that needs to be sorted. Only one little patch to go until it won't look as if cultivating dandelions!
3) Pancakes for supper... naughty girl
4) baked some bran muffins for tomorrow
5) Made some butternut soup... yum!
6) Been invited to the Wednesday badminton club... I wasn't really feeling part of the group, so this was a nice surprise.
7) Loads of washing done
8) Clean bedding and shaved legs
9) Recieved my first donation for my June challenge... climbing Snowdon, Moonwalk and Race for Life
10) clean and tidy kitchen... well it will be when I get off my bottom to finish doing the dishes!
Sleep well
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all
Got a little bit of catching up to do :rotfl:
Saturday:
1) Friend coming round to visit....and bringing me a small bottle of toffee apple cider to try
2) House all clean and tidy
3) Lots of reading
4) Low spend day
Today:
1) Bedding washed, line dried and back on bed - looking forward to getting into that later
2) Drinking the toffee apple cider  very nice but a bit sweet so more of a treat than anything
3) Listed some more stuff on ebay
4) One item has lots of watchers and is already up to £23
5) Double yolker egg - yummy
6) Friends little girl ringing 'auntie Carolyntia' on Skype this morning for a chat
Hope you all had a good weekend.
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
5 for today (Sunday)
1) Bit of a lie in and felt better for it.
2) Popped round to see OH who had had an even longer lie in and was very jolly.
3) Bigger son went to play with his friend. This friend is a really nice lad and his parents are lovely too. It always tickles me that they have matching names! I can't really type them here I suppose but its a bit like having a cup of tea with "Dave and Davina" :-D Anyway "Davina" asked if I wanted smaller son to stay too so I had 4 hours with no children at all. :-)
4) Went to mum and dad's and checked on the new piglets who are settling down after their naughty escapings yesterday. And their major escape overnight...
5) Had a good tidy while sons were away and emptied the water butt and got sorted outside a bit too.
6) Had a chat with a fellow MSE-er on the phone. :-)
7) Bigger son back to normal today. He got in a terrible strop yesterday and came out with all sorts of stuff including he was going to phone Childline if I didn't let him watch Dr Who (the worst punishment I could think of after he swore at me). Thank goodness that is over.
8) Hope OH is popping round later. :-)0 -
I did write Sundays pleasures but they don't seem to be here! So I will do double tonight!0
