(((newlywed))) from me too. Give yourself a day full of little treats tomorrow.

((( Sparrer))) as well. Insults, tellings off and volcanic ash sounds as if that's a full set of things arriving in threes. :) Bet you'll have got all the bad things out the way before arriving in Italy and you'll have a brilliant hassle-free holiday now.

My five for Monday:

1. Long and interesting chat with the veg box people on the phone.

2. Cheese omelette, new potatoes, carrots and spring greens for supper. Plain, but all very tasty.

3. Got through a mountain of DS1's ironing which he would normally do himself but his ironing is a bit out of control at the moment and I wanted to be kind... and he said thank you :D.

4. Sat and read through a load of magazines and catalogues and other bits and pieces for work-related stuff while waiting for DSs at sport tonight. Got lots out the way.

5. The evening sunshine as we drove into town tonight. Beautiful.

Sweet dreams

Newlywed & Sparrer - Hugs to you both, hope you have better day today

Pleasures for yesterday:
1. Reaching the cash out level on a survey site so £40 winging its way into my bank account:j
2. More washing line dried and DD brought in off the line before rain started
3. Not OS but lovely chicken satay wrap and some pork dumplings shared with a friend for lunch. Was so yummy
4. Stocked up store cupboard on things running low on as on special offer
5. After doing the Moonwalk have signed up for the Sunwalk. This is 13.1 mile power walk through London in July. Am really looking forward to it and means I will carry on walking as still have something to aim for.

Hugs to all who need them

Mine for yesterday

1. nice walk to pick up DS's new bike - 40 min walk there and 15 min cycle ride back, thereby doing a chore and my exercise for the day in one go.
2. nice coffee with friend, although she was complaining about something silly to do with her mother. SHe should be grateful to still have a mother :(
3. Nice roast turkey dinner - with enough leftovers to plate up and freeze a whole other dinner
4. Still getting thro the marking but taking the opportunity to put my itunes on my new (ish) laptop
5. A stiff breeze and mostly sunshine meant 2 loads of washing got line dried and my rotaire cover came into its own when it poured down. Have only used the tumble drier once in about 4 months! :A

Have a good day all - more marking for me.:(
I wanna be in the room where it happens

hello, 6.30pm already ! Where does the day go...ah, yes ! at work!

1.Got up early this morning so I could have a chat for an hour with one of my best friends back home, lovely to chat ,although skype connection was very echo-y. She is very wise and gave me some wise words which I was grateful for!

2.work was fine: busy ,busy and I just keep thinking of the money!

3.said hello to some ducks today! Funny how they seem to like the puddles...of which there are many! The noise of the birds in the trees was amazing! enjoyed my drive home through autumn tree lined streets.

4.Had an iced apple cakey! Was very selfish mummy & didn't let anyone else get a bite! Went to supermarket for milk & was most restrained! (apart from cake!) Came home & watched 'Casualty' on youtube & enjoyed my cake!

5. easy peasy tea of ravioli for husband & kids & I had some tuna pasta, using pasta from last night's macaroni. Have made packed lunches , washing all done & hung here, there & everywhere to try & dry! So will sit for a while & relax! (trying not to fall asleep!)

Have a good day x

Evening all,

I didn't get chance to post yesterday as we had a departmental day yesterday and a small group of us decided to go to the pub afterwards... and then to the local curry house... more on that later...
its a bit like having a cup of tea with "Dave and Davina" :-D
:) There was a couple in my home town called Robin and Robyn

Newlywed - sorry to hear that your OH is being so daft. I hope hehas gotten round to apologising.

1) NSD yesterday... a gorgeous lunch was provided at the all day meeting, the lovely gentlemen that I work with insisted on buying the drinks at the pub (as I was only on soda water it wasn't too much of a chore), then one of the other senior buyers picked up the bill for dinner (to put on expenses). To make it even better I didn't really eat much of my curry and had asked for a doggy bag... so I had yummy curry for supper tonight too. I think they may have been slightly horrified by my asking for the doggy bag but I don't care.

2) Boxercise class this evening. I was paired with one of the admin ladies who didn't provide much of a challenge and possibly thought I was a tad deranged as I know how to punch properly.

3) My lovely colleague A brought my some pea plants as I had given her loads of tomato, strawberry, courgette and onion plants.

4) Playing with my gorgeous kitty. I was given a laser pointer at work and I have been using it to give my fat boy some excersise. He seems to enjoy it.

5) Sample of biscuits was delivered to the office... YUM!

6) You may recall that I was a little worried about my friend's anorexic sister who was struggling with her pregnancy. Well they both survived the birth and are doing really well.:D Pity they have chose such a awful name for the poor mite!

I did have some annoyance though this afternoon. I got an email confirming that I will be on a training course up in Edinburgh in a few months. It starts on the Tuesday morning at 9am but the first flights only get in at 10am. So I sent my boss an email saying "I assume that it will be ok to fly up on the Monday evening". His response was "Never assume". Which is exactly helpful how???? Stupid man.

Anyway, I need to start packing my for walking holiday in the Czech republic...

Night all... sleep tight

Evening all

newlywed - I hope everything is back to normal in your house. As sparrer says they never grow up
sparrer - Hope you had a better day today too
Ladyhawk - We have quite a few bosses like that in my industry - I would've sent him an e-mail back saying I wasn't assuming that's why I asked in the first place  - but I have a reputation for saying what I think and most people wouldn't dare anyway :rotfl:

1) Ash cloud has disappeared (if it ever actually appeared) and Aberdeen airport is open again - hopefully it'll stay that way until I've flown out on Friday night :o
2) Another no spend day
3) Took some books back to the library....I love going in there :D
4) The fact that it's free to reserve books at my library- I've been reading on other threads that some people are charged - hardly encouraging reading and education
5) More yummy sausages for dinner
6) Quick chat on the phone with my mum :)
7) Chat on the phone with the ex last night and the dog is fine - he's looking forward to the weather getting warmer so he can take him down the beach
8) Another three more sleeps and then I'm off to visit family and friends :j

One thing that has slightly irked me is the house next door....it's empty and up for sale and that seems to be an open invitation for people to wander around the gardens and snout through the windows - I saw some people at 10.30pm last night and another ones just been round - I will be having words with the estate agents

Hope you all had a good day

I very nearly sent one back saying "Yes but that still does not clarify the situation - can I stay over or not" - I am arsey enough as it is, so I thought that might be a tad career limiting!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Evening all.

Ladyhawk - it's obviously been the day for unhelpful work colleagues today - I had a phone call this afternoon from someone complaining I hadn't told her about a decision made by her department. When I pointed out that they would have had to tell me the information in the first place, her response was "oh, really?". :wall:. That's great news about your friend's sister and her baby, BTW - many congrats to them!

Mine for today:

1) Went to pick up the order I placed with M&S using the 10% off code from last week's MSE newsletter - it was all stuff I was intending to buy in store anyway, so they basically gave a 10% discount for taking the stuff off the shelf and boxing it up for me. Unfortunately one item's faulty, though, so I'll have to go and have an argument with the decidedly unhelpful customer service staff in store tomorrow. :(

2) LO bean and chorizo stew for lunch, which was even nicer (and certainly spicier) than when I made it at the weekend.

3) Cuddles with a seriously cute pale calico-coloured cat (pale ginger, grey and white) which has recently appeared in the area. I've nicknamed her 'Somersault' because she was repeatedly turning head-over-paws with excitement while I stroked her. :) (And, unlike my own dear mog, didn't try to eat my hands while doing so. ;))

4) Got my baby lettuces planted out. I was intending to do more plants but I got tired of retrieving seedlings that had blown across the garden and gave it up as a bad job!

5) Attempted a reduced fat caesar salad dressing to go on my dinner and it tastes pretty good. (I used one third mayo to two thirds fat free yoghurt, if anyone's interested.)

Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
