Getting back into this... Here's some pleasures for today:

    1. A renewed sense of OSiness and an increased desire to save as much as I can.
    2. Got my shopping list and mealplan sorted for the week.
    3. My pepper plant is looking strong and healthy.
    4. I did 3/4 hour of exercise and feel good for it.
    5. Was given a recipe for a low fat quiche by a colleague.

I've no idea why all of a sudden my OS spirit has pinged once more to the fore, but I'm glad. I've been trying to work out for 3/4 hr every day and have been trying to cut down on the amount of food I eat. I had a couple of really stressed days last week and barely ate which did help the weight loss, but on returning to a kind of normal eating schedule those lbs have gone back on. Swings and roundabouts, so we'll see. My clothes fit better which is a bonus. The Cayenne Pepper plant has grown a bit more, but I squashed my broccoli seedlings which obviously wasn't good for them. I'll try a different seed at work and see if that works. My carrots look to be growing well, and my garlic and shallot have sprouted. I've made a to do list for the garden (and the house, come to mention it) and will try and get as much done as I can. I've been moisturising every day in prep for summer (Keep Balm and Carry On!) and have pretty much given up on fizzy pop.

Anyway, have a nice evening, everyone. (((hugs)))

    4. Tasty bottom of the fridge dinner tonight
5, Arranging a day out with OH for the weekend and its a freebie

Hugs to all who need them

I am a bit arsey at work too, it does get you a reputation. My excuse is that i tried to leave last year through voluntary redundancy and they wouldn't let me go - so now i don't care much (not about managment anyway). I think they realise that i don't need to suck up to them and i always tell the truth - but sometimes they don't like it.

Annnyyywwayyy - my 5 for today

    1. lovely bike ride with DS thro the country lanes on a sunny if chilly evening. Who needs gym membership?
    2. Lovely prawn and pasta dinner - chilli and garlic prawns, delish
    3. Still ploughing thro that marking but making good progress and most are passing!
    4. Hubby away so i'm in bed with the lap top
    5. Blocked loo has unblocked itself somehow. phew.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Glad to hear it! :j I had a similar problem....not completely blocked though....seems to have resolved it's self since the people with the baby next door moved out

I wouldn't say we were arsey - more like strong women who won't take any crap :D One of my work colleagues is just the same - I love overhearing some of the things she says to people ;)
As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'

Kitchenbunny - that's pretty much what I need to do. I lost 2 stones last year but have recently put half a stone back on so I need to get back to looking after myself, 5 fruit and veg a day and less/no junk food. All my long walks and Wii fit work has gone out of the window, must start again!

    5 for today (Tuesday).

    1) Bit of a lie in. Erm...oops. Did get to school on time though.

    2) Phoned a scrapyard, not holding out much hope for getting a new seatbelt for my 18 year old car. Weirdly, they had one in the first yard I tried! £20 - so better than the £96 Ford wanted for a new one. So after some other jobs, it should pass its MOT re-test on Friday.

    3) Popped in to Sainsburys without any children - always good!

    4) Lovely, sunny day.

    5) Quite a nice tea - did a big stir fry.

    6) Did some planting with OH's DS 5.

    7) Both sons have to see a Cafcass Officer tomorrow to say what contact they would like with their father. So I thought they must have not only a bath but also a hairwash... Bigger son's hair is very long (nearly long enough for a pony tail) so I helped him with that and combed it down flat (for once) with a parting. :-D Then he put his pyjamas and dressing gown on and we went in search of smaller son who was playing football behind the village hall with OH's sons 3, 4 and 5. We had to laugh because bigger son approached in his dressing gown and neat hair (not the usual Einstein look) and all the others jumped out of their skins because they thought some girl had appeared!

    8) Sitting on the sofa now and have washed the thin quilty thing and tumble dried it so it's lovely and warm. And I have a hot water bottle. Hoping OH comes round in a bit. :-)

    Evening everyone.

    My five for Tuesday:

    1. Asparagus in the vegbox so that's tomorrow's lunch sorted :D and some very good looking other bits and pieces.

    2. Lots of chats with some lovely people today including a 6 month old baby who was showing off his beautiful little two first teeth with his even more beautiful smiles.

    3. Giving my sister her birthday prezzies and card. She liked the cherries.

    4. Weather's looking sunny and blowy tomorrow and I have tons (ie 7 or 8 machine loads) of club sports kit to wash again so I've already got the machine on the go so stuff can start to get put on the line first thing in the morning.

    5. Spending a 45 min wait for my DSs in a cafe with a cappuccino and doing a bit of work. I resisted buying a huge toffee chip cookie (that's the MS part of this pleasure :D)

    Sleep well

Not a lot to report today, it's been very quiet and haven't seen another soul

    1. Spoke on the phone to the person who told me off yesterday, who admitted they were feeling unwell. That's as near an apology as I'll get, but at least it's cleared the air

    2. Finished shortening/hemming a chiffon dress with a handkerchief hemline. Took me 5 days and some colourful 'Army' language as it's cut on the bias and had to be rolled rather than folded, but it's done :)

    3. Discovering on another forum that the potato greenery (haulm?) which has been broken down in the wind shouldn't have an adverse effect on the potatoes. It wasn't so windy today, thank goodness

    4. Sorted out the stock of food I'd put away when the recession started. Lots of goodies still to use, but I have no idea why I bought a tin of spag hoops as I loathe the things! Fortunately it's now out of date so in the bin it's gone :p

    5. Was really cold this afternoon but resisted putting on the heating and put a big woolly cardi/coat on instead. It was so cosy with one of the cats curled up on my lap and the dog beside me, we had a very peaceful couple of hours resting our eyes :)

    Night night, sleep tight

Sparrer - I think I need to get me and DD a cat soon, I don't think a slanket is going to be enough this winter, especially with all the gas price rises coming :) Your snooze sounds lovely......
Ladyhawk - so pleased your friend and her baby are safe and well x
Frith - hope the Cafcass meeting goes well for the boys and they (and you) don't find it traumatic x

    1. At last I've made my first physio appointment for my leg - and it will be paid for by my healthcare scheme
    2. NSD :)
    3. Had a lovely afternoon with DD and OH - he took us to a local hostelry for a drink in the sunshine and DD had a great time doing a treasure hunt to get a prize - well, she got 2, the barman was so nice :)
    4. We picked up a bag of free broken up carrots at a local farm shop (I always choose the broken ones and get given them as I reckon I'm doing the shop a favour as they'd struggle to sell the bits to most people) so DD and I fed the farm's donkeys, goats and pony.
    5. OH bought us dinner of fish and chips from the best chippy in the world :)
    6. Fabulous cuddles with DD in the morning, brightened up my day :)
    7. Fabulous cuddles with OH in the evening, brightened up a boring TV programme that he wanted to watch and I wasn't fussed about :)
    8. I had leftovers for lunch and they tasted even better cold than they had done the first time around, nomnomnom

I didn't manage to post yesterday so here are my OS pleasures for a couple of days.

    1. Some lovely walks with my dog and met a friend who I hadn't seen for ages.

    2. Took lunch to work and had some biscuits there.

    3. Planted more salad leaves.

    4. Found more asparagus so had some for tea.

    5. Finished making the elderflower cordial which is lovely and I must make some more.

    6. Had chickpeas on Monday so soaked and cooked the packet and froze the leftovers.

Startling and unsettling dream zapped in from somewhere....so, back to 'another day' mode.

    1. Another v. busy day at Charity Showroom yesterday, but no big furniture sold. This never happens - at least half a dozen sofas are usually gone. I'm still surprised when - a year on - newbies say they didn't know we were there. Some amazing bric-à-brac sales though.
    2. Baking enjoyed - recipes taken. We have such a great atmosphere there.
    3. Before going, sat out back here, v. early and watched starling parenting a canny baby[bigger than maman]. Squark-squark-squark endless, repetitive high-end annoyance screech, only a mother could love it. Looking harassed, she hopped about, picking up burnt toast[I was in here on putah:o - 3rd time this week:o:o:o],seeds, peanuts, and parking them in baby's gullet. ...notwithstanding fact that child was not only eating bits of its own choosing perfectly ably, but was even dropping said delices from own beak, in order to take Mummy's, then screech for more.
    4. Then sheltered the first big strawbs at near-ripe stage and found them unmolested last night. May pick them today - if I get there first.
    5. Many ways I could - and should - spend today, but I will do as I will do with some element of choice. Limits my income, but not my mind and I know how to maximise both. I am now gong to sit outside with tea to listen and watch and read The Gourmet, Muriel Barbery's 2nd offering. Again, extraordinary. If wind drops, will tackle trailer and garden rubbish run - having filled car last night using someone's discarded 5p off per litre Mr T voucher.
    6. I caught up on a few news clips of Barack and Brenda on Beeb news and loved the very obvious warmth from her towards them. I feel the 'ditherer/indecisive' taunt levelled at B.O/promoted by Republicans and other unmentionables, is simply his known work method, which marked him out as a possible Presidential candidate some years ago: deep reflection and thorough research and communication with all parties and any history pertaining to a situation, before reaching the most workable, steady hand decision. It's a bit more real world than popular/showbiz. And this is from a moi who was backing Hilary...

Un très bon jour à tout et à tous.
