Evening all - Looking forward to a Looooong weekend! My pleasures for today
1. Lovely quiet roads on drive to work
2. Good day at work - kept my calm during some tense ongoing issues & a nice phone call to colleague / mate in Leeds office about a shared issue.
3. Traded Mr T vouchers in for camping vouchers - two air beds & electric pump bought for almost free for weekend
4. Perfectly ripe avacado in salad for tea
5. OH has just bought me a chocolate orange to have when I watch Masterchef final at 9pm.0 -
Kittikins - Happy birthday hope you had a fab day :bdaycake:
VJsmum - Fantastic news regarding your DH must be such a huge relief.0 -
Happy Birthday Kittikins :bdaycake:As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0

Been a few days since on here with kids still off and SIL arriving yesterday and being ill last couple days.
1. DH took a day's leave today so I could be ill in bed in peace and quiet. He did all the things I usually do, getting kids ready for school, packed lunch, school runs x 3, swimming lessons, cooking tea for kids and dinner for us & SIL. V much appreciated even though I feel 'orrible still (just a heavy cold, temperature etc) and strange watching DH doing "my jobs" though he has had to before when I've had couple of minor ops etc in past.
2. As both SIL and I ill (hope we don't swap viruses!) we spent some nice time on the sofa huddled up with blankets just chatting. Don't see her often and usually at big family gatherings so lovely to catch up properly.
3. NSD!
4. Proud of DS1 and DS2, telling their auntie about school and how well they did at swimming (DS1 had to overcome a fairly big fear re: swimming and he is in with the pre-schoolers like DS2 because of his anxiety. I'm so proud also that he's stuck with the swim class ,seeing his schoolmates in higher classes than his)
5. Had a lovely thankyou card in post today from one of our nieces for her 18th pressie.
thats it!
VJsmum –very good news. Bet you are both relieved
Kittikins – Happy 40th Birthday!
Sorry the shivers are starting up again so will abandon reading rest of posts and get some sleep!

5 for today (Weds).
1) All boys back at school. :-) Last day tomorrow before another long weekend!
2) Did loads of admin and phone calls this morning so feel a bit more organised.
3) Popped down to see dad and brother and had a cup of tea and a slice of simnel cake.
4) Pie for tea.
5) Whizzed through a SAT's paper with bigger son so that's all the homework out of the way that we had all holidays to look at...
6) MrN will hopefully be round a little later on. :-)0 -
VJsmum that's wonderful news, so pleased for you both
Frith lucky you having yummy simnel cake
It's been a long, busy and tiring day which started at 6am but much achieved so all in all a good one
1. Took a phone call at 6am and was able to help someone who was grateful I could give her some information/advice
2. Went to the garden centre and only spent £1.29p! Bought some cut and come again lettuce seeds and planted 7 little plastic drinks cups which are sitting on the lounge window sill to catch the morning sun - hopefully!
3. Postie brought me a set of very modern scales which match the unusual blue of one of the kitchen walls
4. A quick shop in Mr M which meant a delish prawn salad sandwich for lunch made with ys prawns, and plenty for the freezer
5. Used up all the stale bread and hc buns for a bread pudding. Didn't have much dried fruit so I supplemented it with mincemeat, and it's very good indeed. Well I had to test it before I offer it to anyone else, didn't I?
Night night, sleep tight

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes, I had a fabulous day with LOTS of cake and cuddles
:)
1. DD woke me at the crack of dawn to open my cards and presents
2. Everyone at work (including me)loved my carrot cake - I hate wasting money on buying cakes so always take in a home-made cake and carrot has gone down brilliantly for the last 2 years
3. The children in the class I volunteer at sang me Happy Birthday in pidgin French and loved the fairy cakes I took them
4. We had a lovely afternoon tea for DD's friends and mine, lots of chocolate and cake and children bumping down the stairs on their bottoms giggling away
5. DD went to bed without moaning and groaning for once, although I did have to moan at her for the state of her bedroomNot a great way to end our day but we kissed and made up before I tucked her in as she said something funny that defused the situation!
6. Spending time with my beloved OH*swoon*
7. Watched the Giles & Sue Royal Wedding programme, they're a really great combination
Celebrating again with OH tonight on our big night out in London. Being 40 is fab!0 -
Happy Belated Birthday, Kittkins! Hope you had a great day.
Here's my pleasures for yesterday:
1. Had a day off doing my normal Wii Fit (trying as a change) and was pleased to find this morning I am feeling a bit less wobbly. Great!
2. The blackbird is still sitting on her nest, bless her.
3. Did a bit more work in the garden, so the borders are looking a lot neater now and my plans for tub veg growing are getting a bit closer.
4. Put some pepper seeds that I'd been drying from a supermarket bought pepper into a paper sachet to use next year.
5. Spent some time with DH.
Another bonus is that we won't need to go food shopping this week - yay! I'm torn between trying to stock up and trying to rotate stuff so I can defrost the freezer, etc. I need to clear out another cupboard for more tins and packets, and I need to make some rally meals for later this year for when we go camping. Anyway, have a good day everyone.

Kittikins sounds like you had a lovely day!
Been another nice day here, much cooler in morning & evening but warm enough through day.
1. Walked.....yes walked!...DD2 to school & back extra hilly way, appreciated the birds & flowers & autumn colours....how quick one becomes a car driver again!
2. Then drove back to school & sorted out stuff for PTA mothers day stall next week. Mothers day is 8th May here. Had a nice chat with a couple of other mums, which was nice.
3.Home and pottered about, doing nothing too much !
4.Managed to get washing dry with a combination of washing line & clothes horse on porch, which got most of the sun! Rotated washing all day but finally got it all dry & ironed.
5.Went to library when kids came in from school. Used their internet & read their magazines.
6. Had a lovely conversation with one of my best friends daughters who is a big 4 years old today. She was telling me about her new pink shoes!
7.Easy tea.....chip shop chips!
Have a good day!0 -
I really need to get back into the habit of doing this. I read the thread almost every day, but I forget to think about and post my things!
So for yesterday:
1. it was lovely and sunny
2. two excellent meetings at work
3. lovely dinner of gnochhi and a veggie and tomato sauce
4. had some lovely cranberry and lime fizzy drinkie stuff instead of wine with dinner (and we had it in wine glasses and called it "a light, fruity red!)
5. our eldest pusscat had a mad half hour last night... and we thought she was getting past doing that! It was funny watching her hare around the house though!!
So for today:
1. Its sunny!
2. I did some crocheting on the tram coming into work and was not viewed as the "mad lady in the corner". In fact, people even spoke to me a little bit! Which is nice!!
3. Had a great meeting at work with a very nice person.
4. Going to the theatre tonight with hubby.
5. A day off tomorrow, thanks to HRH William and Kate. I will NOT be watching the wedding, but I am grateful for the day off!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440
