Ladyhawk you made me laugh re the 'naughty' shop, first time I went in one my eyes nearly popped out of my head! Hope the situation at work doesn't give you another sleepless night.
Kittikins am thinking of you and sending happy, positive vibes your way.
kitchenbunny good job on the marquee, some good savings in true OS fashion there
1. A free range chookie egg, hm soldiers and a hc bun for breakfast, delicious, and very filling
2. Met up with lots of friends at lunchtime, had a good no-cost get together
3. Went on to visit DD and family this pm, gave the dgd their eggs and took gingerbread chicks for everyone
4. Came home, mowed the lawn, planted the pear tree, measured up for the chicken coop and run, and all the time accompanied by a robin sitting in the eucalyptus tree serenading me with his happy song
5. Late tea/supper of salad and chicken, with a little stilton. I love it but it's a bit of a luxury so I eke it out as much as possible
Night night, sleep tight

3) Went to my sister's for lunch.
4) Went to mum and dad's after lunch so the boys could do paced egg rolling then look for their Easter eggs in the wood.
5) MrN came home after a rare night away. :-)))
6) Had a good tidy up and cleaned the bathroom.0 -
1.Home after a 10 hour drive through stunning scenery, rolling hills, autumn colours & the most amazing sun set. Sun was crimson as it set. Beautiful.
2.Lashing rain in Sydney this morning but a pleasure was seeing 100's of swimmers make the effort for a race in the sea....from the dryness of my hotel window!
3.Finished my book on the way home.
4.It is ANZAC day, similar to Rememberance Day. When our servicemen past & present are honoured & remembered.
5.Nice to come home......nice to be away ...but always nice to return!
Hard to make up pleasures when you are stuck in a car for 10 hours but we have had an amazing weekend, although today is ANZAC day which is a public holiday, it's also Easter Monday,so an extra public holiday tomorrow! I hope you all have a good day.0 -
1 - Line full of washing blowing merrily in the garden

5 - Lots of free cwtches with DS - the highlight of my day every day!*** PROPHECY_GRRL****** DEBT FREE AS OF 17/10/11 - I DID IT!!! ***0 -
Hello :hello:
I hope you don't mind if I join in at this late stage, but I'm trying to incorporate at few OS habits into my life, and to be more appreciative of life in general.
Here are mine for yesterday:
1) Getting to see Mum & Dad yesterday for lunch with OH- I haven't seen them for a couple of months so was nice to catch up.
2) Having a delicious, varied tapas meal that lasted a good few hours - I love taking my time over food.
3) Catch up with a couple of friends in the evening, with a cocktail and a giggle.
4) Managing to revive a sad looking parsley plant slightly - it looks like it might live! :j
5) Starting the day with a lovely bike ride along the sea, and stopping for an ice cream with OH.2011 Wins : Models own makeup product, Photoplusx4 software:j Mens hair dye :rotfl:0 -
Evening all.
1) A gloriously warm, sunny holiday Monday - a rare treat in this country, I always think.
2) A kindly car saleman managed to warn me off buying a car I had expressed an interest in, without saying anything that might get him into trouble with his employer.(It was along the lines of "it's cheap for a reason..."
)
3) Managing to be polite to a satellite TV salesman who knocked on my door just as the final, key rider came into the arena on the last day of the three day eventing.
4) I made a quiche! :j Given that eggs and pastry are two things that usually cause me great problems (white sauce is another one, of course), the quiche has come out surprisingly well - in fact it's delicious. (I know this as I've just sneaked a small slice while getting it out of its tin.
)
5) Sipping a glass of cheap-but good cider (thanks, Lidl!) while sitting out in my garden with a book, surrounded by flowers.
Have lovely rest-of-evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all!
Was rushed for time this morn as had promised to take ds to Ikea, and wanted to beat the holiday traffic - oh the joys of living in the West Country sometimes! Anyway my pleasures for yesterday and today:
1. Took dd3 out to bootsale, though we didn't find any bargains, everything there seemed to be broken, dirty or missing bits, not nice at all! Usually I can find piles of stuff at bootsales lol! Even the veg man seemed to have v sad looking produce, and his prices were ridiculous! Still it was lovely walking round in the sunshine and laughing, and then we went for an icecream
2. Made a lovely veg curry from bits and bobs in the cupboards and freezer that needed using up, almost took our heads off it was so hot, but very tasty!
3. Had a nice nap in the afternoon, the price for all the gardening the day before I think!
4. Took ds to Ikea this morn, beat the traffic, the shop was open earlier than advertised so we got round before there were many people, a real pleasure for a trip there! Found a chest of drawers and bedside table for ds, both a lot cheaper than we expected, and he has spent the rest of the day sorting out his room and is a very happy chappy! No wonder he says he's not leaving home anytime soon
5. Took dd3 and dd2 into town to get some bits they wanted to buy, and popped into Mothercare where they had sale maternity clothes on BOGOF, and actually found some nice white linen trousers and a pink linen dress, even better when we got to the checkout they were cheaper than marked! Also found a new fluffy duster in Poundland, so those cobwebs are no more, as dd1 attacked them when we got home
6. The pinks found all their uniforms, pe kits and bags ready for school tomorrow, so hopefully no panics in the morning. And ds has petrol in his bike, so he is good to go too!
7. Took all the leftover lamb from yesterday off the bone, wow did it smell delish as it cooked, ds had smothered it in mint, and it is now in the fridge awaiting inspiration to strike me or to be popped in the freezer. Plenty left which is always a pleasure!
8. Looking forward to an early night, and making my menu plan for the week.
Going to have a catch up in a bit, but hope everyone had a good day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Thanks everyone for the hugs and support, I'm feeling much better today, still a bit out of sorts but I've been very sociable and am reaping the rewards now as it makes me happy to be with other people.
1. OH is feeling rubbish today so I'm sure I'm not seeing him tonight but it will make (hopefully) tomorrow even lovelier!
2. Was given some little tomato plants by a kind person on Freegle
3. DD and I had a fab swim
4. Then we had a delicious picnic on the grass outside the sports centre
5. We even had fun in Sainsbury's!! and I got some "bargains" and much needed salad and fruit as the fresh stuff was non-existent with us having been away for a while.
6. A lovely friend came over for a cuppa and a chat whilst her daughter was at a birthday party.
7. Cooked dinner for my nice neighbours as she was really busy doing business stuff and they were quite hungry, so I just made a bigger risotto and some salad and it was deeelish!
8. Once I've got DD up to bed in a mo (naughty me, she should be upstairs already), another girly chum is coming over for a drink and a catch up.
9. Have the oven on for my cider-drinking neighbour and will make use of it to get some birthday cakes ready for my big day on Wednesday0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope your Easter weekend treated you well.
1) Weeded another patch of the veggie garden. I didn't get a chance to plant anything, but I definitely will next weekend.
2) Went down to London to visit my DB FSIL and her parents and my gorgeous nephew. We had a delicious lunch of stuffed mushrooms and salad which is exactly the type of lunch I like. Though true to form, soon as I held the baby he vomited on me... a lot. I truly am the baby vomit magnet.
3) Two loads of washing done and almost dried.
4) All my work shirts are now ironed. I even did the duvet cover and pillow cases that I washed today. I never do bedding!
5) Cleaned the bathroom and it is now sparkling. I don't think it has been so clean since I moved in 4 years ago! Mainly because this was the first time I have address the limescale issue on the taps (using good old vinegar)
6) Kitchen is nearly sparkling too... just have to mop the floor and then it will be.
7) Bedroom has also been cleaned and tidied.
8) Lounge is clean and tidy... just have to chuck the throw on the sofa into the basket and replace with the clean one.
9) Nearly finished packing for my trip to Valencia for work.
10) Planted outsome of my very baby tomato plants... hopefully they will survive my being away.
nighty night everyone. Sleep well and have a great week.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all
Marmite - Thanks for the book titles - I'll be putting them on my library wishlist
Sparrer - Interview is on the 5th May at 1pm - I like the sound of the patio pear - not too sure if it'll survive in Scotland though - by the way being woken by a furry paw is better than being woken up by being smacked in the face with a furry tail - especially when it's wet and covered in twigs:eek:
Ladyhawk - Thanks! I'm even forgetting to take the tablets now and not having so many thoughts about the cigarettes - hope you sleep a lot better
Kittikins & Kitchenbunny - Hope you're both having a better time now
Welcome to all the newbies!
Sorry I haven't popped in...my mums here :j
1) Mum and stepdad have enjoyed my cooking (including leftovers) - there is some sort of family idea that I can't cook....almost had to restrain my mum from licking the plate
2) Have relaxed a lot and have stopped gritting my teeth
3) Some lovely weather
4) Mum and stepdad bought be some spatulas (for getting the last out of jars) and a large spoon from lakeland
5) Been and found the place where I'll be having my interview next week - I like to know where I'm going so I don't get myself too stressed
Hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend
:EasterBun
