    Evening all.

mhagster - happy chocolate! Sorry, I meant happy Easter! ;) I'm glad you've had such a fantastic time despite the weather.

Amanda - your crab pate sounds amazing.

villagelife - I hope you have a lovely time wherever you're going. :)

sparrer - I keep suffering from severe fruit tree envy when reading your posts. :o I had a patio apple tree a few years ago but I never had any joy with it - not a single apple in four years :( - so in the end it got freecycled off to a local community group in the hope they'd have more luck. I really must try again - a pear sounds like a particularly nice idea.

Frith - I'm glad your ex didn't kick off yesterday like you were expecting. I hope (and expect) that any court would take into account what your kids want before making any harsh decisions - you're only doing what's right for them.

Carolyntia - :j at your interview news. I really hope you get it.

    1) Another really long lie-in this morning. :o I feel a bit guilty about wasting so much of my Saturday morning in sleep, but I feel so much better for it that I guess that's what I needed.

    2) Finding I've lost 1.5kg after less than a week back on the OS weightloss thread. :j

    3) Planted loads more seeds - so many that I've now run out of seed trays and will have to go and buy some more tomorrow.

    4) Gave the bathroom a good clean. I can't say I've done a brilliant job, housework being one of my less favourite tasks, but at least it's better than it was.

    5) Cuddles with the mog. Being black, he doesn't care much for hot weather, but I always figure he can't be too miserable if he still purrs when I stroke him.

    6) I've made a big pan of healthy chilli con carne for dinner, bulked out with loads of veg, and it's OS too as I think I should get 6 to 8 portions out of one pack of mince. :money:

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

5 or so for today (Sat).

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Went round to see MrN. :-)

    3) Went to the tip to get bags of soil conditioner cheaply for my sister's garden and to put some of MrN's rubbish in the skips.

    4) Dropped stuff off at the 2nd hand shop.

    5) Went to Sainsburys which was very necessary.

    6) Had tea at my sister's.

    7) Texts from MrN although he is nearly 100 miles away visiting son1.

    8) No MrN to visit me this evening so I am getting organised... bath now then I shall be retiring to bed to watch Motorcycle Diaries (about Ernesto Guevera with very good soundtrack) with a glass of sloe gin and a creme egg. :-D Want to wait for sons to go to sleep first so I won't be interupted a million times. Smaller son is reading the Mousehole Cat out loud to bigger son in the top bunk. :-)

Oh - and ex Mr Frith is fighting back slightly. He has got hold of my mobile number (I keep an old mobile just for him as he was such a pest with nuisance calls). Anyway, had a weirdy text on my everday mobile which is annoying and he has phoned and turned up at my mum and dad's.... :-( :-(

Boys still positive they will not be seeing him...

  • Evening,

I've had a very busy but enjoyable day, with a few tea-breaks inbetween so not feeling too frazzled. For today:

    1. Managed a run.Wasn't going to,but glad that I did.

    2. Went to the market (there's a large market here every Wed and Sat morning).Had a nice chat with the woman who sold me the rhubarb.Stocked up on some fruit and veg, plus more rhubarb to make jam tomorrow-just finished prepping it.

    3. Cleaned both balconies and washed the sitting room windows (hated tasks, but what a difference it makes!).

4.Have made a big batch of lemon curd for when my visitors are here:three large jars, two of which I'll put in the freezer.

    5. Delicious egg mayo sandwich with HM bread for tea.

Carolyntia I'll have to pm you the books tomorrow, sorry not had time today.

Sparrer how lovely to have a pear tree,I hope that it's a success.

    Good night x

Frith not sure but I have a feeling there's a scheme whereby the mobile co can block nuisance calls from certain numbers. I may be wrong but it may be worth looking in to. Pleased you had a more relaxed day today
mummysaver, jinty, CCP, marmite, the pear is really little more than a 2 feet tall twig atm, but does have masses of little buds on so will let you know if it comes to fruition (pun intended ;))
MHags what a lovely day you had, sounds perfect. Even more so to be able to round it off with chocolate :D. Well done for holding out til the end of Lent
savingqueen what a lovely sister! They're very special people aren't they?

    1. A lie in til 9.30am when I was patted awake by a furry paw
    2. Postie brought me a booklet of vouchers for the nearest DIY/gardening superstore. Fatal! Now I really have go in the week :o
    3. Nice neighbour gave my mutt a bag of biscuits that hers doesn't like. My lad has them for breakfast and supper and was almost out of them, so a perfect pressie
    4. Arranging a trip to Cambridge on Monday to celebrate a friend's birthday, then being invited to an impromptu barbeque this afternoon by the friends who are taking me. Spent the afternoon laughing at the antics of their three new hens, I can't wait to get some of my own :D
    5. Got home to find one of my neighbours had watered my garden with their hose pipe, using their metered water. How thoughtful, and economical for me;)

    Night night, sweet dreams

    Good morning all!

Sparrer - the best tree I ever had was a rowan I bought in Aldi many moons ago. It looked like a cane and cost 99p! Now its a full blown tree ( unfortunately its in my previous house:o)

    Yesterday's five things were:
    1. Spending a couple of hours wandering round the garden centre looking at plants and planning what to buy!
    2. Visiting Mum and Dad for a natter and getting a loan of their power washer for my slabs.
    3. Receiving an email from the breeder we got our dog from inviting us to a "family reunion" of all the pups that were in the litter at the time we got our dog! That will be such fun - he is five now and there were 8 in the litter. We are meeting up in a big country park for a picnic and a get together - dog heaven!
    4. Getting an Easter egg from my Mum!
    5. Having breakfast out with OH, a nice treat!

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
