MHags Happy Anzac Day
Ladyhawk have a safe trip
CCP thank goodness for the occasional honest car salesman, good of him to warn you and possibly save you a small fortune
1. Drove to friends then they drove us to Cambridge to visit a fourth friend, they refused to let me share the petrol costs saying they were going anyway
2. Stopped at Mr T on the way to pick up some goodies for an alfresco lunch, and some ys Easter eggs
3. Sat in the garden from 11.30am til 8pm, it was so warm. We all contributed to the table laden with food which we picked at as we wanted, so lunch lasted most of the day!
4. Friend gave me a tour of her house, which is amazing, situated on the edge of farm land with views for miles. Well deserved, she's worked so hard for it
5. Back to other friends house at 9pm, where they gave me some eggs fresh from the hen house, to bring home.
6. Got home to find some messages from family, then a lovely phone call from DS
7. Neighbour had again watered my fruit and veg for me, I can certainly count my blessings with my family and friends.
Night night, sweet dreasms

5 for today, the penultimate day of the Easter holidays.
1) Lovely weather all day again. We actually need some rain now!
2) Did a bit more spring cleaning so the house actually looks presentable now.
3) Had an Easter egg hunt in the garden of our neighbour 2 doors up.
4) Spent a lot of time with MrN and his sons as it is his youngest son's birthday today.
Can't think of 5) but 4) took up most of the day. :-))0 -
Morning everyone.
Well yesterday didn't really go as planned. I wanted to get lots done but somehow I managed to 'lose' any motivation, I think it was the thought of going back to work today.
Anyway I think that I can still find 5 pleasures:
1) Early morning and late night emails from new friend:D
2) Meeting up with my best friend for a catch up. This had to be done whilst shopping but it was great to see her
3) Not buying anything - a major achievement when out shopping with the above friend
4) Catching up with Lewis
5) Caramel bunnies from the fridge - very nice but will be glad when they are gone.
Well the forecast is for the weather here to alter from today, so maybe that will make me more inclined to do things! If not will be looking for a kick or a bucket of motivation from somewhere.:o
Have a great day

Morning all, here's some pleasures from yesterday:
1. Went out for a nice ride around and found a lovely bike shop. Spent the afternoon chatting while DH looked at a few bits & pieces there.
2. The British Superbikes from Brands Hatch were really exciting and good to watch.
3. I managed to do a 45 minute session on the Wii Fit and feel a bit more toned this morning but
4. I don't ache from doing it! I'll be putting it on again in a little while (when I've woken up a bit more).
5. The blackbird is still on her nest, bless her.
6. A friend gave me some great gardening advice and a couple of half full packets of carrot seed for me to use. I'm going to buy a tub or two and a couple of growbags and give them a go.
7. We had an early night last night and I feel better for it.
Yep, when I'm a bit more awake the Wii Fit is going on again (I'm determined to lose half a stone before summer hits) and I'm going to try and have a good session. The car needs a couple of new shock absorbers so I'm feeling a bit down about that - more outlays and I'm not sure how much its going to set me back *sigh*. Anyway, have a good day everyone. Things going marginally better but still not great.

Hello, been a pleasant day here. Last day of school holidays so back to routine tomorrow but a wee ,short week!
1.Waking up in my own bed! Although ,it was lovely being away ,I didn't sleep particularly well in the hotel bed!
2.Went for groceries & had a fruit scone & a read at papers!
3.Got caught up on 5 days worth of washing! Mostly dry & a HUGE ironing ahead!
4.We went out for a late lunch/early dinner which was very nice......definately need to rein in the spending for rest of month but we have had a lovely holiday & not spent too much money.
5.Hubby cut grass & trimmed hedges & DD1 did some weeding.....I don't like the gardening now (loved it back home) as I am too scared of potential beasties lurking
Enjoy your day x0 -
Using M`s computer and struggling with its configuration, even tho' I often use Fr keyboard chez moi. Haven't fully caught up, will do so, but please consider all posts much appreciated in the meantime.
1. Arrived at Tunnel, but nothing went until 0130h-never mind; I am here, although subsequent drive was 26hres en tout. Words of wisdom(after the event) - AVOID LYON LIKE THE PLAGUE UNTIL ALL NEW TRAM SYSTEM WORKS ARE COMPLETE.
2. Lovely to see M. again - as always - so understanding, soothing, and we have known each other since the early 70's. How can it be that we're both in our 60's now?
3. Fraises and framboises have survived journey - we may do some planting this afternoon.
4. Ate the pascal lamb happily and very well with M'sdaughter and o/h on Sunday, after I had a 1st splendid sortie at...
5. Puget-Ville vide-grenier in the morning. Quelles trouvailles! I am so happy and in my element in this land, in my old quartier. Of course I have an accent, but always correct 'anglaise?' to 'n!o-z!landaise' très très vite........and chap beside me who spoke was wearing a Folkestone RFC sweatshirt. Our conversation took off...........
6. Did a brocante at Ste Anastasie hier. Lovely surroundings, happy atmosphere, nice fellow antiquaires and the petit train de Provence arrived once or twice, running just behind me - only 2cars long, old, cream and red, lovely. Pix taken.
7. Took comfortably enough for Car Tax, such a relief. Ste Maxime or Cogolin demain - 05h start, so off from here in the hills around 3.30/4h. Grimaud Sunday. Maybe another.
7. We are having a Royal Wedding tellyveg./saturation day on Friday. Have various plans, starting with champs. petit d!jeuner, smoked salmon etc., because I am converting day to a delayed M. birthday and we will have a Jolly. Her Union Jack/gold crown(Primark)bag drew happy comment when we were having ap!ros.
8. M has come back from village with a copy of the elusive Aladin(yes, just one 'd' en français) mag.; I pick these and 'Brocante Antiquit!s' up every time I'm in France - excellent ref. to keep and gives me year round dates for e/th, as does excellent videgrenier.org site(if anyone else needs it). Also comforts me when absence feels harder than usual.
9. Glad the whoelsewriteslike site is meeting with favour - I'll thank Sabine in Cambridge Central Library for this again.
10. Cake(ditto restored clock,Branston, Bovril etc) survived journey. Cake will be 'suitably' !labor! for Friday..........I have plans:-)
11. Being able to share and show some of this to M....just hearing m!t!o predict hot storms around m!d this afternoon.........
Donkey Nina is hee-hawing.... à la prochaine and much happiness from the sacred hexagon.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Thanks for all the good wishes. It's the behaviour of the ex's new girlfriend that has really floored the boys, I think. Anyway, we talked about it quite a lot yesterday and they were sure they didn't want to go. This morning, they refused to walk with me to his car...
Could you ask the boys to write a letter to their dad explaining exactly what behaviour "floors" them?
Would they be prepared to see him if they knew she would not be around? Could he be trusted to keep that bargain?
Not that I think that they should be seeing them; the current rules are based on the idea that children benefit from seeing both parents and the recent research suggests that they do generally, but not when the absent parent behaves in anti-social ways.
The letter might give you some lee-way if things hit the fan? Maybe best if they did this when you were not around?
They are also of an age when some children are given permission to limit or refuse access to their absent parent. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Hello, RAS.
Yes, they are willing to see him without her around. They are starting to get tired of his silly behaviour too, however.
The trouble is, they know he can't be trusted. Last Tuesday the ex picked her up after picking up smaller son and promising us all she would not be there. He did the same a couple of years ago with heroin addict girlfriend - said in court she would never be present then immediately had her there with sons for the whole weekend!
I don't know if they would write a letter. They know about their forthcoming chat with Cafcass and are happy to tell them all about new girlfriend...
The big showdown will come next Tuesday when it is his turn to pick them up from school. Presumably I will have to stand on the playground too and they will have to choose who they go home with. :-S Hmmmm.0 -
Evening all.
ampersand - it's lovely to hear from you, and that you're having such a great time.
sparrer - I'm really grateful to that salesman - such honesty seems pretty rare given the last two cars I've bought.
Carolyntia - I'm glad your cooking went down well - what a relief!
1) As a colleague said as we were leaving the office - only two more working days this week! :j
2) It's really quiet in the office so I could get away with spending chunks of my day reading the forum, entering competitions, and doing various other things that couldn't remotely be described as 'work'.
3) HM quiche for lunch. (The rest has now been frozen to stop me nibbling it into non-existence.)
4) Being organised enough to take a spare pair of shoes to work with me, so I could change them when one pair started to rub. (I wore them as they matched my outfit but I know they're not really very comfortable.)
5) A glass of wine to go with dinner tonight, as I opened a bottle yesterday - very indulgent for a work night!
Have a pleasant evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
