5) Sitting out in the sun
Hope you all had a good day.
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
5 for today (Sunday). Going to court in the morning so feeling ever so slightly rubbish now - do me good to think of 5 or so!
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Lovely sun all day.
3) Helped MrN in his garden.
4) Went swimming with boys and MrN.
5) MrN cooked tea (do I detect a theme here?!) while I typed up my statement for court and put on a DVD at his house for the boys so I would be undisturbed.
6) Just finishing statement now boys are settled and am about to make a date and walnut cake for the aforementioned gentleman.
7) Good to see Ampersand back. :-)0 -

Congratulations on your win Patricia - I knew someone was more deserving than me
Hang in there Frith, you have everyone on your side. Will be thinking of you tomorrow
mummysaver well done on the bargain food processor
ampersand good to see you posting again, especially after your awful drive home. Naughty though, you should have stopped for a short rest. If I get tired I open the window regardless of the weather (the cold won't let me sleep!) and turn the radio up til I find somewhere to have coffee. Thank you for the very kind offer, I've just bid on some scales on ebay as they look like they'll match quite well with the new blue/grey wall in the kitchen.
Carolyntia I wonder if you'll do what I did and buy a 'no smoking' hanging air freshener for your new car
1. A full day, the usual Sunday lunchtime meeting at my fellowship, then on to a beer fest at the pub my daughter works at. Had my usual lime and soda, the sight and smell of all that beer isn't at all appealing these days
2. Having spent a couple of weeks looking on line for the right bedding to match the guest room, I found the very thing today in Mr A at a quarter of the price of the few I'd marked as possibles.
3. Got three green olive ciabattas for 15p each, a wholemeal tin for 20p and lots of fruit and veg which was being marked down to pennies as it was just before closing time
4. Took the washing in abot 6pm and the birds were all singing their little hearts out so sat out with a cuppa to listen to them. Beautiful
5. A productive evening listing everything in the freezer, didn't realise I had so much! What a satisfying feeling
Stay well or be well now. Night night, sleep tight
S x0 -
1. A lovely day with the sun shining.
2. Seeing the fields of rape now they are yellow.
3. Having fish pie for tea and enough left to freeze a couple of portions.
4. Managed to cement in a post in the front garden which had been driven into months ago. I managed it by myself and its not moving. I thought if I did it the plants close to it will remainintact and alive!
5. Washing done and dried outside0 -
Welcome back Ampersand, lovely to see you on here again
Frith - all the best for today hon, will be thinking of you (and putting pins in an effigy of you know who, lol)
Sunday's joys........
1. Lunch outside with OH in my messy garden, but it didn't matter
2. Lovely chats with DD who is enjoying being spoiled rotten by her grandparents. Missing her like mad, but glad I have OH to keep me entertained
3. Popped over to see OH's sister and met her 'rock star' lookalike hubby and enjoyed a drink out in the sunshine overlooking their immaculate garden.
4. OH met one of my oldest friends and had a tootle on her saxophone as he's keen to learn - he's far better than me, I can't get a note out of it, he did straight away and even did a couple of recognisable notes, so now he feels unstoppable......
5. Had a really horrible headache, probably as a result of alcohol on Saturday night, and had a lovely head massage that helped me a lot.
6. NSD - mainly because I left my purse at home, good job I realised before I started filling up at the petrol station! and thankfully I had enough petrol to get me home and hopefully back to said petrol station today......eek!!0 -
Morning all!
Frith - thinking of you today, hope that you are happy with the outcome xxx
My five for last night/today so far:
1. Made strawberry ice cream in new machine, was delish! So pleased with how quickly and well it works, even if it does sound like a rock tumbler lol! Kids loved it, and I have a tub leftover as it was so rich that they couldn't eat their own weight!
2. Went to bed early to watch a film with dd2, Austin Powers was our choice and we both giggled a lot, then I fell asleep early and she kindly turned everything off and tucked me up lol!
3. Sun is shining again, forecast is great for the week, and windows are thrown open, I love this weather!
4. Will be out in the garden later, planting out some more seeds - freebies from work so even better! They were leftover packs from promo in one of the papers, so we were allowed them!
5. Listening to all the birds outside my window, lambs and cows a field away, and no noisy children on scooters today! (Don't mind kids outside playing, after all mine used to be out all day long, but I do object early in the morning, just seems rude!)
Have a great day all xxxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
hello......dark o'clock here at only 6pm
Been a nice day, breezy but warm enough....gets the washing dry!
1.Was very lazy this morning....bit of a lie in!
2.Went swimming. Easy to get to now with the car, would have been a 2 bus job before but less than 10 minutes drive away.
3. I asked at reception desk about prices.....ended up with a bloomin' tour of the place and a very complicated explanation of their pricing system....I think it will be too expensive to join ,so might just go on an ad-hoc basis.
4.Popped into supermarket on way home (getting into old habits now I have a car!) ,however got some fruit that was reduced ,flowers that were reduced and other things that we weren't desperately needing.
5.Went to library and used their internet & I read 3 magazines this time! I loved my magazines back home but they are expensive here & I grudge paying the money when I read them so quickly. So nice to have a browse for free.
6.Girls are in charge of tea tonight! DD1 is making curried squash soup, as she liked the one I made yesterday. Bought a squash this afternoon for 98cents so cheap & cheerful to make.
DD2 is making nachos with bacon, red onion & mushrooms, topped with cheese & baked.
Got a nice loaf of crusty bread ...so all I have to do is wait (impatiently as I know I could do it all in less than half the time it takes them!)
I hope you all have a good Monday.Hope all goes well for you & boys, Frith.0 -
Evening all.
Please excuse the hasty post tonight but I had a lousy night's sleep last night (I tell you, that cat's gonna be fur mittens if he acts up like that again tonight ) and I've spent the day struggling to keep my eyes open.
1) A lovely sunny day.
2) Admiring photos of a friend's new puddy tats.
3) Got a set of plastic boxes v. cheap through the work bookclub (why plastic boxes are in a bookclub I have no idea ) - I needed some new ones so I'm delighted with my bargain.
4) Trying a new recipe - creamy crab pasta - for dinner tonight, and there'll be enough left to take to work for lunch tomorrow (so I hope it's good!).
5) Arranging the annual gas safety test for my flat very easily as the engineer apparently lives in the same road as me.
Frith - I hope all went well for you today.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all,
Hiya to Frith - hope it all went smoothly and that the ex didn't get a chance to play his games.
1) Pottered around the flat this morning but still managed to get into the office at 9am on the dot.
2) Would have been a NSD except I had to do my new passport photos. They look acceptible and are significantly better than the current photo where I look like a gothling of negotiable affection.
3) Left the office on time
4) Cut the lawn, potted out some seedlings and planted my alysom seedlings. I had a gorgeous little robin chattering to me most of the time. He is such a cheeky little chappy and often keeps me company when I am in the garden.
5) First English asparagus of the season... YUM!
Night all..
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
