Hi all, haven't been about the last couple of days as it has been really busy. Plus, a friend is a bit heart-broken and miles away, and I feel a bit low because I can't help her further. :( Anyhow, here's some pleasures for today:

    1. Getting lunch provided at a company meeting.
    2. DH has brought me a present - a new garden rake!
    3. A nice tea of hot spicy sticky chicken and special fried rice.
    4. An NSD. That meeting had a dual benefit.
    5. Mum has promised me a little sage plant, and a cutting from her aloe vera plant. That should help my gardening efforts a bit!
    And one extra:
    6. My chilli seedling has 6 leaves. My pepper plant, however, has not sprouted yet and I'm beginning to give up hope one that one.

    Have a nice evening, everyone.

    KB xx

    Hi everyone,

Posting slightly earlier today in the hopes that I won't nearly fall asleep as I type!

MHags - weren't you due to collect your car today? ;)
Carolyntia - I am so impressed with your giving up smoking :Tand good luck with the job hunting

    1) Had my hair cut at lunch time (20% off) and it's now really short! It got rave reviews when I got back to the office so I might be on to a winner

    2) Took my own lunch into work... yummy tuna and pasta salad

    3) Took the cupcakes and brownies into work and sold them all to raise money for my Moonwalk...

    4) Tidied my desk at work because it was a MESS!!!! I look far more productive now.

    5) Yummy easy dinner of pasta with roast veg

Night all... sleep tight... only one day until the weekend!! :j

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Hello, Lavinia21! Best of luck with the marathon. :-)

5 or so for today. (Thurs)

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Smaller son helped me tidy up in the garden.

    3) Went to see smaller son's paediatrician who always makes you feel like you are the only family on his list. When I casually mentioned smaller son broke his finger a month ago, the paediatrician got his X rays up on the screen so he could commiserate!

    4) Tea and cakes in the hospital cafe.

    5) Popped to B and Q for some play sand.

    6) Went to a local nursery and got a plant each.

    7) Sons played in the sand for ages.

    8) Quite a nice tea.

    9) Walked to the local pub and back.

I had a good day yesterday.

    1. Lovely couple of walks with my dog and picked some blossom from the orchards, which aren't being farmed at the moment.

    2. The blossom in vases around the house.

    3. My pilates class - it does wonders for my back.

    4. DS1 taking DS2 to barbers and combined it with collecting his friend. The two of them are getting on well at present.

    5. We all went to the pub for a drink.

    6. Having a laugh with my neighbour.

    7. The bluebells coming out in the wood.

    Morning all!

Mhagster - how exciting about getting your car, and well done on getting it home safely - I hate it when I have to negotiate somewhere new in bad weather!

CCP - if your white sauce is lumpy either blitz it with a handblender or poke it through a sieve, then gently reheat, and it'll be fine! If it's sliceable, add some more milk, blend and reheat!

Ladyhawk - after extreme experimentation with brownies, we have discovered that Delia's recipe in Complete Cookery or the Blue Peter one on their website are the best! I always want to leave them in the oven till they're firm, which I had to conquer to ensure squidgy brownies lol!

Lavinia - welcome to OS, congrats on your job and good luck with the marathon!

Kittikins - so glad to hear babe s doing well, hopefully not long till she's home :)

Villagelife - glad the car made it through, always sends me into a flap wondering what might be wrong and how expensive it will be lol!

Didn't post yesterday as had to whizz out and get more paint for the girls to finish their rooms before I went to work! Anyway rooms are looking good now, I just need to do some cutting in for them. My pleasures for the past couple of days:

    1. Sorting out my paperwork paid off! CB people have backdated and popped the money in my account, they had stopped it for ds for unknown reasons, I was most impressed with their speed! Council Tax peeps have sent me single person forms nice and speedily - for some reason they had readded ex hubby, pretty sure he wouldn't fancy paying here and at his new address lol! Couple of other bits of paperwork also resulted in money appearing in my account, so feeling well rewarded for a few mins work, especially since I'd been putting it off, hopefully I will now feel more inclined to do my paperwork!

    2. Girls doing a sterling job of painting their rooms, they look soooooo much fresher. Just a few finishing bits needed, then hopefully new beds for dd2 and dd3 should arrive quickly and it'll look lovely in their room, dd1 is after some frames, so hoping to get to a boot sale over the weekend and have a hunt.

    3. Reading a book by a new author, and being able to stay up late to finish it as I'm off work today and was able to have a lie in, another pleasure in itself!

    4. Chat with friend last night, I was awake late due to reading book and having cramp, he had been out, so was good to catch up without kids constantly interupting us both!

    5. Taking girls out today :)

Hope everyone has a good day xx

1.Had a lazy-ish start to our day! Had to get washing out early as drying hours are shortening! Also have big trees in garden that because the sun's not as high are blocking out the sun on my washing :(
Had items of clothing that were still damp from 2 days ago....so they went out on line! Big ,black clouds kept threatening but managed to get everything dry!

    2. Drove to the library ,& whilst kids were on -line, I sat & read 4 glossy magazines, one after the other! Most pleasant!.....and wrote out some new baking recipes to try!

    3. Popped into DD1's friend's house ,to see if she wanted to come out with us tonight. They are a very nice family & have been so friendly towards us. So had a nice chat with them.....and they have a lovely dog!

4.Me & DD1 went to supermarket to buy sweets (for them) and grapes for me! Definately not paying cinema prices for food! Picked up friend & off we went....in my new car!

5.The other day we found a gift card on ground at bus stop (.....in my old bus travelling days haha!). It was for the cinema & worth $30.00 ,wasn't sure if it was still valid or had just been chucked after use......it was fully loaded so me & DD1 went to cinema for $1.50 instead of $31.50.....a bit of a plastic-y Reverbe I suppose!

    6. Husband has went with DS & DD2 to see football.....but only as it had a live band that they like before the game! Kids were only $2.50 each to get in! So a fairly cheap night out for everyone!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

I thought I'd come in and post after all as I'm not quite as exhausted as I expected to be - although, given how much I'm yawning while typing this, I am pretty tired!

    1) Living close enough to where I work that I could pop home and change when I spilt coffee down the front of my nice white top. :o

    2) Despite that minor disaster my conference went well. I'm lucky that the people who come to the conference tend to be really nice people - I can only remember two occasions when there's been anyone I didn't get on with.

    3) There's always something on the buffet lunch that doesn't get eaten - today it was a tray of mini pizzas, which are now in my freezer for future packed lunches. I'm not sure we're really supposed to take excess food away with us, but I always think it's better than throwing it away.

    4) The squeals of delight when I got back to the office with a tray of cupcakes that hadn't been eaten either - you'd think my colleagues hadn't eaten for days! :rotfl:

    5) I'm getting a Chinese takeaway a bit later on - naughty and not remotely OS, but we all need a treat occasionally. ;)

mummysaver - thank you very much for your white sauce tips - I will get it right next time, thanks to you! :A

Have a lovely Friday evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all

Ladyhawk - Thanks...now at the point where I'm starting to forget to take the tablets and I'm definitely not craving anywhere near as much...just the occasional twinge :)
    Lavinia21 - Welcome to the thread :D
CCP - There's never anything left over from our buffet lunches - it's like working with locusts
Sparrer - Are you getting any better?

    1) Found somewhere that can fit a new exhaust for me tomorrow :j
    2) Arranged for rest of repairs and MOT on Wednesday :j
    3) Contacted another agency and they've put me forward for 4 jobs today ;)
    4) Lovely day here
    5) Did a Reverbe and found 5p
    6) Posted last ebay parcel :)
    7) Finished up lots of bits from the fridge for dinner :A
    8) Bits that dropped off my 'Money Tree' that I put in water are starting to root
    9) NSD
    10) No nicotine day _party_

It been a good day :D even if most of it was spent in a meeting.
Hope you all had a good one.....I've got a couple of things to look forward to tomorrow but I'll tell you about them then.
