how things change! I am now the one with damp washing hanging in the house (with no proper heaters!)
Not had an internet connection past 2 days so have had no choice but to step away from computer!
However...
1.Have finished 1 book & half way through another!
2.Had a long soaky bath....don't feel guilty when it's torrential rain......lots of flooding but not us, thank goodness.
3.Not eating the lovely cookies I made yesterday....some sultanas, some marshmallows.....normally I would have wolfed them down.
4.Made veg soup for tea tonight & then made pancakes with ice cream for everyone....I had the last orange!
5.Enjoying lazy days with my kids!
It's new car day tomorrow.....I have to drive from one side of city to the other, so NOT looking forward to that! I'm usually looking out the side window & not paying attention to road signs & directions! My husband's saying, oh, just go along such & such, take a left at here & the slip road for there! er........! Watch this space
Hope you all have a good Wednesday & had a good Tuesday as I wasn't here!

Evening all.
I have to confess an outbreak of dreadfully un-OS behaviour tonight - my flat's so cold I've turned the central heating back on.I feel very guilty about it, if that makes any difference.
1) HM veg chilli for lunch.
2) Did a multiple Reverbe and found 4p on the pavement.
3) I was so hungry I felt ill when I got home, so I made myself a honey sandwich -. It helped, too, I'm pleased to say.
4) Being all nice and warm now the heating's on.
5) Being good and getting something for dinner out of the freezer rather than buying something as I'm too tired to cook tonight. :A
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
CCP - we don't have any central heating but I lit the stove at about 1pm! It's FREEZING outside.
cat_g_83 - sorry to hear about your mum being in a similar situation to my sister. :-( I just knew as soon as my sister made contact with him again (a month or so ago) that it would end up like this. My ex-husband really wasn't a lot of cop but even HE hated this bloke!
Anyway, 5 for today.
1) Had a bit of a lie in.
2) My mum and dad had bigger son for the day. They were supposed to be taking him out to the cattle market but a sheep had poorly presenting twins so they couldn't go. Son did get to see the lambs being born, though!
3) Smaller son had a friend round. Only twice ever has he agreed to this and he was really excited. Unfortunately, small friend was so silly and noisy that smaller son got very irritated and, to be honest, so did I in the end! He is the only child I have ever had to lock the piano up from. :-S
4) Had quite a nice tea. All it was made from was the remains of last night's tea (roast chicken, potatoes, carrot and swede) mixed with a tin of chicken soup and topped with puff pastry. It's always popular in this house.
5) Boys went to karate and did really well. Smaller son walked out after 20 minutes last week (his first session) but was fine this time and took part in everything. Bigger son managed to flip someone on his back and completely wind him which drew rather a crowd... They're still practising in here now.
6) Had several jolly texts from MrN. Slightly less jolly in the last hour because he got on the wrong train home and it won't stop until it gets to Crewe. Which is not handy as his car is parked in Birmingham........0 -
Hi Ladies,
Another quick one from me tonight as I am sleepy. I woke up at 2am this morning after dreaming that I was presenting a training course which everyone walked out of half way through... I think I was just worried about today's presentation...
1) Presentation went really well
2) NSD - the second (or possibly third) this week
3) Did a Reverbe and found 5p
4) Decided to leave the office early and get the 4.30 train back from London... and ended up sitting next to a friend who I haven't seen in about a year for a little part of the way.
5) Got home and decided to bake some cupcakes and brownies. For some reason I just can't make decent brownies but I am sure that someone at work will nosh them.
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
1. DD made me her first ever lunch of a marmite sandwich and a glass of water and presented it to me on a tray. I nearly cried at how cute she was and of course it was the best marmite sandwich in the world
2. DD and her friend gave me fabulous cuddles and kisses and were so well behaved
3. I made meringues for the first time today and they are AWESOME, I can't believe how easy it was and how tasty they are
4. Yesterday's home made bread was like a brick so I've turned it into breadcrumbs........now just need to find a recipe that needs them, lol
5. OH actually CALLED me today for a quick chatI've not spoken to him, only texted, since Friday and boy have I missed his voice. Hopefully seeing him tomorrow night
6. Friends who went to the campsite asked if they could come back to ours today rather than tomorrow as they were too cold - and as we arrived to pick them up, the heavens opened, so good job we did!
7. I made a yummy bean stew/curryish thing for dinner, and was a bit worried that DD wouldn't like it as she can occasionally be a pain in the rump if spices are involved, but she had 2 helpings and is going to fight me for the leftovers tomorrow most likely!!
8. Woohoo! Just realised today was another NSDI've really overspent AGAIN this month and thank goodness I have credit cards as I don't have enough money in the bank to pay for petrol or anything really. I don't know how I can be overspending so much, it's quite scary as I'm not sure where its going and it can't all be the increase in petrol/food that's making me scarily skint, can it?!?!?
9. Having a laugh replying to emails from 2 ex boyfriends who are currently in touch with me, which is funny as until they contacted me, I couldn't even remember their surnames and was only vaguely interested in hearing what they're up to, but I was amused by their reactions when I tell them how amazing OH is, as I think they like to think that after them, life has never been the same again......it was flattering that they remembered me so well, but hopefully they've got the message now!
10. Looking forward to cuddling DD in bed tonight as she's in with me so our friends can have the other beds. I love watching her sleep
11. My friend's baby is still in a special care baby unit, but in a more local hospital now, so that's a good sign. I saw mummy today and admired some photos of the gorgeous girl.0 -
1. I got my new car, I got my new car,I got my new car! All up early to go to work with husband ,lashing with rain , in to his office for half hour then off to get new car....mega lashing with rain by this point!
2. I won't say the drive was a pleasure.....missed 2 turn offs, was driving on fresh air desperately looking for a petrol station! and spray on road & steamed up windows made visibility a bit scarey at times but made it! I knew I would but was doing my 'I hate driving in a place I don't know' thing!
3. Beautiful autumn colours ,trees look gorgeous.....was just like how it was when I last had my own car, 6 months ago!
4. Had a lovely lunch with my 3 lovely children!
5.Went supermarket shopping....so shouldn't have to go on Saturday!
6.Drove to the library and parked my tiny wee car in a space with no problems.....using their internet!
Have a good day!0 -
1. My car had a service and MOT yesterday and didn't need anything else doing to it.
I was anticipating a very expensive bill.
2. Sold 2 ebay items not for much but it all helps and declutters at the same time.
3. Long walk with DS2 and nice chat with him.
4. LO beef and salad for tea and everybody enjoying it and the beef was reduced.
5. It rained so I didn't need to water my seeds.
6. Potted up some spider plants.
7. No work yesterday as I worked Monday instead but it felt like a holiday.0 -
1. watched Super Scrimpers on 4od
2. used up eggs, bread, milk, dried fruit, apples and nuts which were on the verge of being past it by baking chocolate brownies, bread pudding and making caramel apple crumble filling (this one is for the freezer)
3. Made up for buying fresh, ready made soup from asda by re-using the tub as a change jar.
4. Bulb went in the room, and I am too short to reach even standing on a chair. The wait for my OH to get home and change it will have saved me a few pennies in electricity!
5. It was my day off, so had a nice lie in then a lovely soak in the bath.0 -
Evening all.
1) NSD.
2) My favourite tree is starting to come out in flower.
3) As are the first of the bluebells in my garden.
4) Cheese and ham pasta bake for dinner, which looks quite good despite being hit by my usual incompetence with white sauce.(I always end up either with hot milk with lumps of soggy flour floating in it, or, as with tonight's effort, something you could serve in slices. :rotfl:)
5) Opened my fruit and veg box and found that the pears and bananas looked like they'd been walked over by an elephant (or possibly a whole herd of them). That's not a pleasure, obviously, but the veg box company's reaction was - a genuine apology and my money back for the squashed fruit. :T
I probably won't be around tomorrow as I've got an early start and a long day (I've already promised myself a takeaway for dinner as I know I'll be too tired to cook when I get home), so have a lovely Friday, all, and I'll see you Saturday.
Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all
Sorry I didn't pop in last night....it was a very long day.
1) 2 NSD
2) 2 more nicotince free days
3) Been very busy at work so the time has gone quickly
4) Neighbours cat popped in for a quick ear scratch and destressing stroke last night - he always cheers me up
5) Not having to pay for my prescription - I love living in Scotland!
6) Long chat with my mate from down South on the phone last night
7) Applied for another two jobs today - got some more to do as yet
Hope you all had a good day.
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0
