Today I had a terrific day
1. DD came to pick me up for our day out, (and I was ready for once ).
2.We had a good trip into London on the train ,no hold ups (a miracle from the Medway area)
3. lovely lunch in an Italian restaraunt in Leicester Square my favorite food and she treated me to it
4.Saw Phamtom of the Opera and it was amazing ( part of my birthday present from her in February as she knows I love musicals)
5.
managed to get two comfy seat home in the middle of the rush hour from London (thats another mini- miracle)
6.spent the whole day with my very busy daughter and had a lovely long chat to her over lunch about anything and everything.Don't get the opportunity often as she has a very busy high stressy job so to see her relaxing was a treat in itself0 -
For today:
1 It rained overnight. We need more rain here.
2 Walked into town instead of getting the bus.
3 Washing done and put away.
4 Had porridge today.Haven't had it for ages.Must make it more often.
5 Day off today.feeling a bit flat, but I'd rather by at home than at work.
Carolyntia what a shame about the job.
There's a poster at Occupational Health that takes you through all the changes in the body that occur once you stop smoking. There are changes from day one and it carries on to 15 odd years after stopping. It's very interesting to read.
Wishing you all a good evening.Hugs to those in need of one.0 -
Hi everyone,
I am very sleepy... so this will have to be a flying visit...
1) NSD
2) Despite the cold it was a beautiful day
3) Rubbish day in the office but... I managed to (more or less) keep my cool. I was ready to really get quite angry at several people who were being obstructive.
4) Funny chat on BBM with my friend L on the way to work.
5) Really healthy lunch and supper - salad with quinoa and roast veg for lunch, and salad with quinoa and tuna for supper.
Night night everyone..
L.

Hello everybody, I have been lurking for a while and think this is a good thread to start posting,I havent read all the posts, but here goes
1. Listening to Elidor on radio4extra
2.nice roast dinner today, unusual for a weekday but had friens over earlier
3. the garden looks lovely
4. DH is still at work, doing the late shift, looking forward to him coming home later
5. it was a sunny day0 -
Hello oldtractor, nice to 'see' you, hope you'll keep on posting
1. Babysat neighbour's one year old DD and 5 year old DS this morning and really enjoyed playing with the baby but was glad i could hand her back after a few hours and a very stinky nappy
2. More fab chats with my friend today
3. She also taught me some yoga and breathing techniques that will be very handy and I feel very relaxed.
4. Took friend and her daughter to a lovely campsite, via the supermarket and the fish and chip shopThey have enough food to survive for 2 weeks, not just the 2 days that they're staying there, lol.
5. Sat out eating our fish and chips, looking at the moon and listening to the birds. It was hard to drag DD away as she really wanted to stay but I'm not a camping kind of gal and their tent wasn't big enough for all 4 of us (or at least that's what I'm telling DD!!)
6. Made yummy salads for lunch; friend and I like the same kind of veggie foods so I could get creative rather than doing the same-old, same-old.
7. DD and friend decided that they wanted to become businesswomen and held a cake sale on the driveway - one kind person gave them £1 for a 20p cake; they were soooooo excited and have made plans to do it on a bigger scale next time they're together, bless them
8. Enjoyed the sunshine0 -
5 for today (Tuesday).
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Did some paper work for my sister.
3) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
4) Went back to brother's afterwards and cut 2 carrier bags full of nettles and the boys went to look for slow worms.
5) Cooked lots of nettle soup.
6) Did a roast dinner, bit awkward trying to do it at the same time as the soup!
7) After dinner we walked to the nearest pub (getting on for 3 miles, in the next village) and had some crisps.
Less good things :-( Sister has decided she is getting back together with her nasty man. She was with him for 7 years (from 19-26) and has had 3 years "off" including counselling to get over him but has chosen to go back. :-( Feel very sad about this.
And no MrN visit tonight (seems a bit mean, putting him so close to a sentence about Nasty Man!) I *hope* he is just tired and that is the explanation for being a bit offhand.0 -
Evening all
oldtractor - welcome to the thread
CCP & Marmiterules - Don't worry too much about the job. I'm a bit like a cat....always land on my feet. Just got to work out how many lives I have left
1) Another parcel out to ebay
2) Lovely sunny day
3) Just remembering to get something out of the freezer for tomorrows dinner :rotfl:
4) Another nicotine free day
5) Finding lots of jobs to apply for and lots of agencies to contact - that should keep me out of trouble for a while
6) Busy but pleasant day at work - even if the client hasn't got a clue what they want and argue amongst themselves - at least they won't be able to blame me for all their problems for much longer
Hope you all had a good day and the poorly people are getting better.
Night night
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
Been very busy with work but here goes with collected highlights.
1. Chat with sis on phone, she is starting radiotherapy for cancer, but is very upbeat (they got it very early - breast).
2. Dyslexic/mildly dyscalculic student passing a maths exam she needed for promotion at work. Thrilled to bits about this.
3. Friend launching his new CD at the local live music club tonight. I've got it playing v. quietly now. It's great.
4. Son still away on hols - house is soooo quiet and soooo tidy!
5. Throwing together an outfit tonight to go out and receiving compliments.
And welcome oldtractor!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Morning all!
My pleasures for yesterday/this morning:
1. Swimming with dd3 and seeing how much she has improved, pool was pretty empty as well, so I managed several lengths and my achey shoulders feel much better now.
2. dd2's mood having improved hugely, think her lie in this morning did her the world of good. In fact all the girls are in great moods - though dd1 is a little deep for this time of day, she watched the Da Vinci Code last night, so we have just an in depth discussion about Christ, symbolism and the Illuminati!!!
3. Drink with my best friend overlooking the sea last night, was pretty chilly though lol! Then the cinema to watch Source Code, good film and not too long!
4. Getting rid of loads of stuff to the tip that the girls had cleared out of their rooms, and the rubbish that dd1 had cleared from under and behind the sofas - good job well done!
5. Quiet (ish) hour on the sofa watching an episode of Poirot - dd1 and dd2 were painting their rooms, dd3 was out playing and ds had gone to a mate's house!
Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

My mum just keeps getting back together and splitting up with her Nasty Man. It is horrible when you know what they are putting themselves through again and again. Be assured others know how you feel.
Also a Massive Well Done to those giving up smoking. I quit about 4 years ago now and it does get easier I promise. I still fancy an odd one every now and again but it is easier to resist nowadays.
1. Doing some Dance Central on the Xbox. I love the stupid moves!
2. Using up leftovers to make tea last night, a very tasty chicken rissotto.
3. Only one day of work before another day off...woo hoo.
4. Being able to dry the washing outside. It is so much nicer than having the damp clothes inside.
5. Having a bubble bath with a face mask reading my book. What pampering.0
