Savingqueen - I used to find that shorts lasted a couple of years aswell some even longer than that if you didn't mind too much about the length.

Sparrer - my son was given diazapan? when he went to A &E for the pain.

    My five for yesterday

    1. The weather again annd washing drying on the line.

    2. A NSD.

    3. My DH pointing out woodpeckers in the garden. He normally doesn't take notice of things like that.

    4. All the seeds that need to be planted now are planted.

    5. Went to visit MIL and came home with some rhurbarb.

    Some pleasures for yesterday:

    1. Getting a bit more of the garden tidied - there's a definite border there now!
    2. That first cup of tea of the morning.
    3. The MiL made a gorgeous steamed steak pudding for tea - yum!
    4. Was going to have an attempt at a pavlova for a pud for tonight, but have been talked into trying something which is thankfully a little easier!
    5. The fine sunshine (which unfortunately has lead me to getting sunburnt on one shoulder) looks to continue today. I'll be out there again, when the ironing is done.

    Have a nice Sunday, everyone.

hello, a wee bit cooler here today....18o, which sadly does feel chilly! Woke up to rain & had a few small showers throughout the day!

    1. Woke up early again....think my Scottish body clock is telling me it's SPRING! even though it's actually in AUTUMN! suits me fine though, got up ,still dark & did my wii fit & then had a nice chat with my mum.

    2. Made strawberry jam (most delicious) and banana loaf (from frozen bananas , still $14 a kg!)
and spiced chocolate muffins. Apparently lovely......none for me :(

3.Went to library with girls, had stuff to return, took my own laptop & attempted to watch Casualty but it was simply taking ages to load so gave up! Got a pile of magagzines out.

4.At library , they have hatched Easter chicks....real ones! So that was lovely to see and one wee sad & lonely egg still in incubator!

5.Home and we all sat with blankets on our knees....had a flick through magazines, had a wee snooze, then had a wee chat with my sister!

So over all ,quite a relaxing day for a Sunday!

ETA: just had a lovely chat with one of my good friends from home for an hour....I love skype!

Evening all. Hope you're all having a pleasant Sunday.

    1) Watching the grand prix this morning. Watching a sporting event while eating breakfast always feels pleasantly decadent somehow. :)

    2) Made a rather late start on the spring cleaning by disinfecting the bins and washing the kitchen floor.

    3) Gave my bush fuscias their annual haircut - they seem to need a yearly reminder that they're not allowed to take over the whole garden.

    4) Made a big pan of veggie chilli, my most OS recipe: it uses up odd bits of veg from the bottom of the fridge, and makes 4 to 5 portions for less than £1. :money:

    5) NSD, as last week's illness seems to have drained my energy: cleaning, gardening and cooking all in one day has left me exhausted, so I'm not going out to the weekly pub quiz tonight. :money: but :(. ;)

Have a lovely Sunday evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening everyone,

Hope the weekend treated you well. I have been feeling very run down, sluggish and generally bleugh recently so haven't done much this weekend. I am going to see the doctor tomorrow morning about the tendonitis in my shoulder and am definitely going to mention this. A number of people have mentioned recently that I just don't seem myself so maybe there is something wrong...

    1) Played badminton this morning - i am definitely improving which is nice to see. The annoying thing was that I paid using a £10 note and definitely remember the coach handing me back a £5 and some change... but can't for the life of me find the £5! Grr!!!

    2) Chatted to my mum on the phone. she hasn't been well recently but seems to be on the mend.

    3) Yummy homemade soup with an RTC bagel

    4) Chatted with my nice neighbour

    5) Got my lunch ready for tomorrow... roasted veggies that were starting to look sad, with feta and quinoa.

    night all...

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and wishes, and for the info re the amitriptyline, Marmite. For now I'm managing with analgesics, being a bit reluctant to take anti depressants - was presc them many moons ago and slept for 18 hours after taking one! I can sleep for 4 hours on 2 paracetamol, hence my reluctance to take anything too powerful. It's exactly as you said villagelife, stops halfway round front and back. Thank goodness, as at least I can sleep on my left side :D

Been a bit boring these last few days as it's difficult to do too much but I'm sure I can find a couple of pleasures..
    1. the weather, of course!
    2. nsd today
    3. Neighbours 12 y/o DD watering everything for me. What a blessing she is :A
    4. Lovely long chat with DS on the phone
    5. Did I mention the weather? ;)

Take care everyone, hope the other poorlies get well now. Sleep tight

    Hi all

Just a few lines to let you know that I won't be posting for a while, so don't worry about me! Just lightening up on computer use and freeing time to do other things. I shall only check my emails and only do the strict necessary on the PC at least for the next month (then I shall be on holiday so it will take me up to the end of May). I might fall off the wagon and pop in briefly at times but won't be as regular as I have been in the past. Big hugs and thanks for all your support and kindness always, see you all in a few weeks.

    Love

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Caterina we'll miss you enormously but I've occasionally felt like this myself so do understand. Sometimes there's too much to do, or you get involved with something new, or just need space/time to catch up.

Check in from time to time, but in the meantime take care and enjoy finding real life away from cyberland :)
