My 5 for the day
1. A free, good sized tub of moisturiser in the post.
2. A healthy shop in Mr T, with bogofs etc and the savings stamps, £132 worth of items cost £97.
3. Enjoyed BBC1's comedy evening while decorating the tree and banisters (my stairs go up from the lounge)
4. Was told I will definitely be getting a blue badge in January.
5. Best part of my year, found a ring my Aussie friend gave me, which I lost ages ago. It was amongst the Christmas decorations no doubt from when I put them away in January.
Night night n God bless, stay safe

Whew, it's been a busy couple of days. Here's mine for the last two days:
Friday:
1) Getting a lift home rather than taking the bus - always a pleasure.
2) Unexpected courtesies happening
3) Finishing my cross stitch - finally!
4) Spending some quality time with a friend's cat who doesn't always take to new people
5) A nice cuddle
Saturday:
1) A nice relaxing lay in bed until 8:45am! 3 more hours than normal
2) Spending the morning cooking and making snacky things with a friend - http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitchen_bunny/4179106584/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitchen_bunny/4179105666/in/photostream/
3) Having a sit down. My feet feel like they're on fire.
4) Using a free sample of shampoo from a magazine.
5) Getting through loads of washing and realising there isn't that much ironing among it
Thanks for the warm thoughts and hugs - they have really helped. Thanks again
(((hugs)))

When I first moved in with him he was away all week, he got made redundant and next job he didn't get many nights out (he's a waggon driver) meant he was doing stupid hours and tired all the time, has new job and is getting nights out again so he is looking and feeling a lot better/happier
5) just that lovely feeling that the weekend is ahead, nearly stepdaughter with us again this weekend and I got a kiss when she came in, all looks good to me.
Saturdays are going well too, but its not finished yet  so won't post them till tomorrowwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Good evening everybody
Such a good day today! I hope it has been good for all of you too, sending (((HUGS))) to all of you who need them.
Here are mine for today, then:
1 - Woke up feeling very rested
2 - Cuddle with DD in her bed, commented how I get best of both worlds with her, she is my grown up daughter, lovely and a real friend, but I still get the "baby factor" with her being so cuddly and loving a tickle-scratch and a game of Hippos (we used to play this when the twins were little, we all went under the blankets and pretended to be hippos submerged in the river water), loads of fun!
3 - Sun shining, DH and I decided to go out together
4 - Trip to the Geffrye museum where they have an exbition of Christmas past and present and an Eco house exhibition. We visited both.
5 - Pot of tea and cake (broke the vegan thing for a treat, but did not feel too bad about it - really REALLY needed a treat!) in the lovely cafe of the museum.
6 - Coming back to our warm home and finding that DD had cleaned the kitchen and DS had brought the towels in from the garden as asked.
7 - Just a sense of general contentment and that I am getting better and better!
Have a good night everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Haven't had the severe frost we were expecting, a brighter and warmer day than yesterday. Here's my 5:
1) Having a lie in.
2) Popping down to mum and dad's to make peppermint creams (they always make some before Christmas) and my sons helping with that and stirring the Christmas cake mixture.
3) Getting back and telling the boys I must tidy the house up before I put the decorations up. (Its a 2 up, 2 down house so there is even less space with a tree downstairs!) I hoovered, they put all their toys away then they helped me polish the piano.
4) Went into the garden and dug last year's tree up again!
5) Went swimming with the boys and my brother. I have to swim under water and count the number of kicks little son does (he is just learning) and today he managed 26 in a row before putting his feet down. Doggy paddle is so inefficient, 26 kicks only got him halfway across :-O
6) Came back and cooked chicken curry which is their new favourite.
7) Made some ginger biscuits and put a bit of cinnamon in to make them Christmassy then we watched Casualty in front of the fire with the biscuits and a nice cup of tea.
8) Oh yes, had some nice post, Christmas cards including one from someone I haven't seen for ages and a letter from my solicitor that must have taken ages to get here. It was sent before I went to court on Thursday and it was strange to see what she thought would happen (not very upbeat) and comparing it with what actually did happen (much more positive!)
