Frith, pleased to hear you sounding a little brighter. What mummysaver said is sound sense, please be careful you don't just end up being a 'useful neighbour', looking after the boys, doing the laundry and so on. There's certainly more to life for you, and you and your DS's deserve better than that!
Shopndrop I did :rotfl:at your little neighbour. Out of the mouths of babes...

    1. Not been sleeping to well of late but last night I went out like a light, must have caught up with me as I woke feeling I'd found my get up and go again

    2. Went to my exercise class, then we all watched a ginormous lorry trying to to reverse next to a delivery bay, while we waited to get our cars out of the car park. A very entertaining fifteen minutes, except when he tried to take out a huge tree!

    3. Visited DD and the dogs afterwards, and heard all about her latest show. She took two this time, both of who won 1sts in their classes. Had lovely strokes with the soppy purry parrot

    4. Home to a lovely hm beef casserole done in the sc, and a small slice of buttered, hm tea bread. Delicious, filling, and cheap

    5. Washed the kitchen floor, there's a lot more to do since the refit and the carpeted area has gone. Looks lovely though, and easier than half wash, half vacuum.

    6. nsd

((((hugs)))) to everyone who needs or justs wants, night night

    Morning all!

Weather a bit grim here today, but not really in the mood to go anywhere tho, and on the bright side at least it's watering the new plants for me! dd2 was in bother last night for fibbing, I'm starting to run out of punishements for her, and dd3 was a pain this morning, which is unusual as she's generally the only bright and sunny one in the house first thing, other than the kitten! As I'd gone to bed feeling in a right old grump I wasn't thrilled to a poopy start to the day, still it can only get better, all is peaceful here now and calm, sanity and happiness will soon be restored I hope! My five for yesterday/today:

    1. Little yellow vw beetle reversing in next to me as I left work, with lots of pics of bugs painted over it!

    2. dd3 telling me the chicken curry was too spicy, but the quorn one was delish - dd1 was really struggling to keep a straight face as they both had exactly the same sauce lol! Think in reality she just prefers the fact that quorn requires less chewing!

    3. dd1 has decided that she will still eat fish, so not a true veggie, but very useful as I have a freezer stocked with the salmon that she loves, and nobody else in the house likes it!

    4. Having enough money to buy dd2 and dd3 new beds, which are very much needed, now I'm just going to have to look for some discount codes before I order them!

    5. Looking forward to a peaceful day, once my chores are out of the way I shall be pottering in the kitchen and cooking and listening to the radio.

Have a good day all xx

I' ve had a busy day which I have enjoyed!

1.walk to school, had PTA stuff to do, got a run home from other mum and had enough time to hang out 2 loads of washing then walked to school again....

    2. Went PTA shopping. They hold a Mother's Day shop over a week (in May) & all items will cost $5. So went with another mum to a warehouse that specialises in this & spent 2 hours purchasing 600 lots of gifts......then had to humph it all out of car into school.

3.Got a run home, which was nice, as it was very warm today & I couldn't face those hills! My washing all nice & dry & ironed.

    4. We went to a Family Picnic night at school, we are just in from an amazing night. Atmosphere & music (live band) were fantastic. Great community feel, kids, parents, staff all up doing the conga, birdie dance ,ooooo macarena!

    5. Sat chatting with other mums on PFA....whilst they might not be best friends, they are friendly and nice!

    6. My girls went round selling raffle tickets!

    7. Walked home in very dark ,dark......don't seem to do quite as many street lights here as back home! However...we made it home safely!

Def not a pleasure but my dd2 who is keen on all things nature related ,pointed out a horrible spider on our way to school tonight & on way home was so happy to see it was active.....er, no!

    Have a good day x

how much for a cake??? for that much id want it to be the size of the pitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So would I. Would never even consider paying that much but hey ho, some people feel the need.

Hugs to Carolyntia - hope today has been better.
Well done Frith on getting that letter.
Kitchenbunny - hope your day hasn't been so bad that there are no pleasures!

    My pleasures for today:
    1. Went to Chester using park and ride to find it was free today as they are upgrading the shelters so no access to pay machines. :j
    2. Calling in Costco and getting some Manuka honey which I have just checked theprice on mysupermarket and saved myself about £8 on 2 jars. I know Manuka is not very OS, but it does last a long time.
    3. Finding a reasonably priced card for my friend's 30th wedding anniversary. Some of them are just so expensive.
    4. Borrowing an old pan and some wooden tongs from my mum to boil some stained tea towels - they have come up like new and to think I was going to throw them out.
    5. Was going to treat myself to a coffee but as it was lunchtime, the queues were horrendous, so I didn't bother and waited until I got home, so quite a cheap day today.

    Evening all

Thanks to everyone who sent me a hug yesterday...I really needed and appreciated them.

Unfortunately it didn't get much better...at 9.15pm one of my staff rang to say he hadn't been booked into his hotel....luckily managed to get that sorted. I was still awake at 2.15am so was very tired and grumpy when I got up at 6am. To compound things I'm pretty sure I'm being overloaded with work and piled with pressure as 'encouragement' to make me leave :(. It will always be a bit of a problem because I'm a female in an extremely male orientated career and I'm seen as an easy target.....if in doubt blame the woman...however this is the worst I've come across in the 11 years I've been doing it.

I've still got some pleasures though:

    1) NSD
    2) 12 days without nicotine :A
    3) LO HM spag bol for dinner
    4) Nice warm bath
    5) Reading everyone's elses pleasures
    6) Lovely guy from a recruitment agency helping me apply for some other jobs - I'd already applied for one a couple of weeks ago but he's going to chase that one up and put me in for another three
    7) Having a little drinky

Hope you all had a good day...and evening (((((((((HUGS)))))))))))

    Hi Everyone,

    1) Got a letter from my friend in Australia who is having such a hard time at the moment. She is feeling a little better and I think is starting to accept that she was being paranoid and dillusional. It's a long time since I recieved a hand written letter.

    2) Good day at work aside from being really wound up my the idiots who were on the road this morning. Grr!!

    3) NSD... in fact I "made" £4.50 by taking some shoes back to M+S as they had rung them up as the wrong price last week. It took a while but I eventually managed to talk them into giving me the difference.

    4) While I was at M+S I ran in to someone I knew back home at university. We also used to work together when we were teenagers. So it was nice tocatch up with him.

    5) Nice atmosphere in the office as quite a few of our departmental directors were over in the Dublin office so we were able to get on with our work without being hassled.

    Night all

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Hope you're OK, Kitchenbunny.

5 for today - so far. Still one or two issues to iron out here but let's not think of those at the moment!

    1) MrN brought me a cup of tea round this morning. :-) Makes the mad rush for school less bleak!

    2) Went to have my hair cut at the local college - £4.75. The fringe is a bit severe but it won't take long to grow a bit.

    3) Had a voucher for any other treatment the students offer (there is a proper salon where they train). I have never had any sort of beauty treatment in my life but got my sister to read their brochure the other day and she was in raptures about it! I had a Dermologica deep cleanse treatment which would have been £10 (free with voucher) which sister said would be quite pricey anywhere else. I thought I would probably be sitting on a chair while they did a bit of pummelling so was quite surprised to be lying down wrapped up in blankets made of dressing gown type material. The student took an hour and did an assessment with the bright light and I have one broken capillary on the side of my nose and one fine line on my forehead - not too bad at 35 and it'll compensate for the increasing number of gleaming white hairs I keep finding... they don't half stand out if you had nearly black hair to start with. :-(

    4) Went to Sainsburys with no children (always good) and feel more stocked up and organised now.

    5) The ex husband sorted out an issue with the boys that had been bothering them in an amazingly good tempered and sensible way. I'm still in a state of shock.

    6) Popped in and had a cup of tea with my dad and my brother.

    7) Had some buttons from Ebay.

    8) Just sitting here quietly now by the stove. Might watch Holby City on the laptop in a minute.

Hope everyone has a good evening.
