    Afternoon all!

Kittikins and Ladyhawk - congrats on the new arrivals, and I hope you both get to have lots of cuddles soon!

Frith - hope lil son is ok xx

    Well my five:

    1. dd3 having a fab birthday yesterday, her friend came for dinner and was very nice and polite too!

    2. My ex driving down to Bristol to save me the double 3 hour round trip to meet him halfway with the children, bless him, he doesn't want me doing to much at the mo, and I really do appreciate it, especially when I read and hear horror stories from others about their children's dads!

    3. dd2 actually remembering to do the dw after deciding to rerun it cos things were still a lil bit greasy (my fault cos I'd stuck in a big pan that was icky), so it was lovely to get up to a clear sink and kitchen!

    4. Finding ys chicken in Asda, 3 lots of boned and skinless chicken thighs and a large pack of chicken breasts for less than a tenner in total! Does mean chicken will feature fairly heavily on this week's meal plan, chicken pie (children's fave), chocclare's chinese chicken and a butter chicken curry!

    5. Picking up the £15 M&S meal deal, got 4 lovely veg and goats cheese parcels (will save me cooking something special for me tomorrow, and give me 3 for the freezer), a rather yummy looking lemon cheesecake, a pack of mixed veg (poss a bit overpriced if bought alone though!), and a bottle of prosecco, not that the maternity police will allow me a glass, but it will do as a pressie for someone!

    6. Remembered to take out a leg of pork to roast for the children tomorrow, it truly is enormous, so think there will def be lots of leftovers!

    7. Getting home from dropping the troops to a letter from dd2's school telling me that she has been awarded a silver achievement certificate for hard work and good behaviour - very nice to receive, but I did giggle as she is currently on report following her recent suspension!

    8. Being able to eat choc again, albeit in very small amounts, Spudette is not too keen on it and it made me feel really yucky, so didn't have any for ages, then succumbed to some Green and Black's yesterday as it was on offer!

    9. Having a good book ready to read this evening, and lots of bubble bath at the ready (found a bag full of bottles stashed away in the kids' bathroom!).

    10. Branston beans being on offer at 2x 4packs for £2 in Mr T's, so stocked up, and Lurpack being 2 for £2 in Asda today when bought with a free bread tin - worked out less than just buying the packs themselves lol! Also found some own brand Tesco ladies deodorant that the girls like reduced to 18p a can, so made ds laugh as he had to reach to the back of the top shelf to get several down for me!

Have a great day all xxx

    Here's my five for today:

    1. Doing the garden. The borders look an awful lot clearer, and there's just something really satisfying about pulling up really obnoxious and tenacious weeds.
    2. Substituting ingredients I didn't have so I had an NSD.
    3. Getting the cleaning done.
    4. A couple of friends popped by.
    5. Got quite a few items crossed off my to do list.

    Have a good evening, everyone.

    1. Getting £23 worth of hair stuff for zilch by combining £15 compensation voucher with special deals in Superdrug.
    2. A storecupboard tea -onion, bacon and apple fry up.
    3. Arthritis a bit yerch, so son put washing on line for me.
    4. A racehorse trainer I know slightly won a big race today - so thrilling to see.
    5. Made the decision to re-home encyclopaedias and massively declutter bookshelves.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all. :)

    1) Lie-in this morning.

    2) Stepping on the scales and finding out I've lost another half kilo this week - that's 4 kilos in 3 weeks. :j

    3) Mooched into the city centre to collect a parcel - a couple of books I ordered off Amazon using vouchers from doing surveys (I can't remember the last time I actually paid for something on Amazon :money:;)). One of the books is the Takeaway Secret book OSers keep raving about - all I need to do now is decide what to try first. :D

    4) Started the annual campanula cull in the garden - it's a pretty plant but grows like a weed in my garden, and I have to keep pulling it up to stop it burying everything else.

    5) Roast pork tonight. It was quite a big joint and I considered cutting it in half and freezing the rest: another pleasure is that I didn't as it's shrunk a ridiculous amount and I would have had barely enough for tonight and tomorrow's dinners if I'd only cooked half. :(

Have a lovely evening, all - I'm off to read my new Takeaway book. :D
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all

Sparrer - Thanks...it's getting easier but every so often a nasty craving sneaks up on me
CCP - Well done on the weight loss.....next on my list after I'm happy that I've cracked the nicotine habit

    1) 8 days without nicotine - the longest I've been without a cigarette in 26 years!
    2) Good clear out of the wardrobes - 23 items listed on ebay and one big bag in the charity bin
    3) Sun came out this afternoon and I got the washing line dried
    4) Neighbours cat popped around for an hour of ear scratching and belly rubbing
    5) Lovely chips from the shop with a home cooked steak
    6) Now loafing on the sofa with a little drinky

Unfortunately the poor car didn't pass the MOT but it is 11 years old and it only need a bulb for the registration last year. The bloke is going to give me a price on Monday. Luckily I have some money stashed for car repairs but I'm thinking I need to get rid of it and buy something a bit smaller and more economical. It's looking a little forlorn on the drive at the moment so if it's nice tomorrow I'll give it a bit of a hoover and tidy.

    Evening

The last couple of days have been a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions but think I have come to terms with the fact that I probably won't speak to one of my aunties again unless I really have to. I have found this quite difficult as I lived with her for about a year as a child but I really cannot come to terms with some recent comments and actions from her. My mums stance in all this has upset me as well but she knows this, she is just so busy not trying to offend anyone that it is so annoying. Anyway feel more settled about it all today and just have to move on.

Pleasures for last couple of days:
    1. DD thinking she could pull a fast one and bunk college yesterday but I was one step ahead of her so needless to say she went:cool:
    2. Getting DD the trainers she desperately needed. We managed to come to a compromise that we were both happy with on price and style
    3. Bought reduced small joint of Duchy beef in Waitrose. Had it roasted tonight with all the trimmings, yummy
    4. Managed a 13 mile walk today, hadn't slept very well so quite pleased with myself.
    5. Long soak in the bath when got back from walk.
    6. Flowers from DD which are lovely as part of my mothers day present. At present she is in the kitchen making a cake

Ladyhawk - Congratulations on your nephew

Hugs to all who need them

    Evening Ladies!

Thanks for the Congratulations on my becoming an Auntie. Congratulations to Kittikins and Cat_g's friends on there bundles of joy.

    1) Lovely relaxing day spent tidying, decluttering and watching TV.

    2) Loooooong lie in... bliss. I am just loving the new layout of my bedroom. Unfortunately it makes me less inclined to get up in the morning!

    3) Put a few things on Freecycle and packed up another couple of bags to take to the charity shop.

    4) Switched off the heating for good until next winter. I hadn't actually had it on for a good few weeks so finally got round to switching off the gas supply.

    5) Last year one of my suppliers gave me a gift of a framed photo of one of their fishing boats. I finally got round to taking the photo out and replacing it with some beautiful wrapping paper and hanging it on the wall. Sounds odd but it looks very pretty. I have been meaning to get one of my photo's blown up to go in it but could decide so this will do until I do.

    night all.

    Sleep tight

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Anyway, 5 for today.

    1) Went to the local church this morning (we are not Christians but they needed the help!) Sons very much enjoyed cleaning the seats with dusters and playing Three Blind Mice on the organ.

    2) Went to mum and dad's briefly and bigger son enjoyed checking the hen pens and we got 3 eggs to take home.

    3) Went into town for lunch with my sister.

    4) Looked round the cathedral and put 20p in the light up model. It has really captured my sons' imaginations and we always put some money in it.

    5) Got my mum's mothers day presents.

    6) Bumped into my old school/6th form college friend and saw her 2 babies (8 weeks and 13 months!!)

    7) Went swimming with my brother.

Frith - Please don't worry...I'm pretty sure he's just gone home and gone to bed to let you calm down. I'm sure it'll be fine tomorrow.

If there's one thing I've learnt from experience is that you should be honest with people. You need to tell him what is going on with yourself so he can help you. Once you're in the place where you know who you are again then things will be a lot easier...but at least give him a chance to help you get there x
