    Well back to normal today!

Had to be at school slightly earlier than normal this morning, only 15 minutes but that's the 15 minutes I usually run around like a daftie trying to get everything done before we head out!

1.Was helping organise stuff at school for a PTA event . Enjoyed myself & had a nice blether with some of the other mums.....but trying to avoid the 'politics' of it all ! (easier said than done :( )

2.Nice walk home....met a lovely dog (who was a bit fierce looking) but all she wanted was her tummy rubbed, just like my dog would do!

    3. Nice simple lunch of beans on toast.

    4. Had intended being more industrious than I was...had a wee afternoon snooze....must be old age!

5.Macaroni cheese for tea, very yummy. Boys had meat & veg.

6.Washing & ironing done.....note to self....before having snooze, hang washing out,it would have been drier!

We are now still dark until 7.30am & it gets dark at 7.30pm. Our clocks go back this weekend so will be dark even earlier, so will be strange for us at this time of year. You will all be rejoicing about the heat and longer, lighter days will I moan about Winter!

Hope you all have a good day, thanks for all the birthday wishes, they really made my day x

    5 for yesterday (Tuesday).

    1) Did a mountain of washing, ironing and putting away for MrN so had a bit of a sense of achievement after that lot!

    2) Went to an architectural salvage yard and priced up a new beam (for the fireplace) then got sidetracked into looking at all sorts of other things.

    3) Played the piano for a while.

    4) Boys happy and went to sleep quickly.

    5) MrN came round. :-)

That's about it! Rather a quiet week this week.

    Afternoon all.
    • first day off in over a week - having a 'lazy one' catching up with a bit of tv on the iplayer and doing only the bare minumum of housework. kitchen cleaned, hoovering done & bathroom cleaned, feels naughty but feels good.
    • making a big roast for the family tonight for the grand total of £1.01 courtesy of the Big A - largeish roast chicken 91p and ready to roast potatoes 10p both on whoopsie - leftovers will be turned into a curry for tomorrows dinner.
    • daughters parents night went very well

    Afternoon all!

Glad you had a nice day mhagster!

    My five are:

    1. Lakeland catalogue popped through my letterbox yesterday, so had a very pleasant half hour last night browsing kitchen !!!!!!!

    2. ds has just made us some delicious tomato soup for lunch, think he's concerned that I wouldn't have time to eat before work otherwise, bless him!

    3. dd's tidying their rooms after minimal nagging from me!

    4. Sleeping all the way through the night, no Spudette dancing waking me last night, or perhaps I was just too tired to wake up lol! Wouldn't say I'm bursting with energy (never actually experienced the promised second trimester burst!), but I'm fully functional today!

    5. Planning to drop in on Spudette's daddy this evening after work, not sure whether that in itself is a pleasure as he's been remarkable by his absence recently and not answering my calls, but I shall feel happier after having a few things out with him! Let's just hope that I'm not suffering a surge of hormones later, I don't want to be arrested for beating him with a blunt object lol!

    Have a lovely day xxx

    Mine for yesterday

    1. One of my students telling me that mine was the most useful, relevant subject they study.
    2. out for a meal with friends
    3. watching an old dr who with daughter.
    4. getting somewhere with tidying out spare room and actually chucking out some things (not recyclable)
    5. Hubby cooking kids tea and washing it up :D
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Not posted here for ages, sorry! However... my OS pleasures

    1. House on the market - yeah!! I have been waiting for this moment for 3 years at least. I am keen to move, hubby less so, but we need to do it. Now, we have to hope it sells!!

    2. Had a lovely lunch of jacket potato with tuna mayo and coleslaw...nummy.

    3. Washing that down with a nice cup of Earl Grey tea (made with leaves... such a treat!)

    4. Went swimming yesterday, and enjoyed it so much, I am going again tonight!

    5. Listening to performances of the music I am singing in my next choral concert. We are singing Rejoice in the Lamb by Benjamin Britten. The guy who wrote the words to that piece (a gentlemen by the name of Christopher Smart, apparently)... well, he was off his flipping rocker!! The words are making me chuckle quite a bit while I am listening to it!!

    6. Because i am randomly chuckling... people are leaving me alone at work! Hoorah... they think I am crazy, and I can get the work done!! LOL! :D

    Hi all

    My pleasures for today:

1 - Breakfast and packed lunch for DH prepared - he is loving the attention (and the good homemade food)!

2 - Walk to Blackheath before the rain started.

3 - Great value food shopping at the Turkish shop in Lewisham, including bulk buy of Halloumi cheese.

4 - DD made a fantastic lunch of salad with fried Halloumi YUMMY!

5 - DS got the washing in before it rained hard so it did not get wet. Good boy!

6 - Down to the gym with my friend (only for 20 minutes but good workout nevertheless).

7 - Cup of tea with friend after the workout.

8 - Met the man who used to run the restaurant where I had my wedding reception more than 20 years ago, now he runs a different one. It was great to reminisce, and he asked me to bring him the photos of the wedding party to have a look at, which I shall do, soon! Nothing like an excuse to go and eat at a new restaurant!

    Good night all x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Today's pleasures:

    1. Woke up with a headache still from yesterday - that was not a pleasure, but went for a walk in the rain and came back minus the headache. Yippee.
    2. Saw a very large house that has been for sale for a while being boarded up with metal type boards - guys said it was a repossession. Felt sad for the owners, but really appreciate our own home.
    3. Some lovely fresh fish for tea tonight from our local fishmonger and a lovely chat whilst I was in the shop. Just love the local small shops and not finding them too expensive.
    4. Had a lovely afternoon baking various things, but tried out a new recipe for some melting moments and they are delicious. Most of them gone already. Definitely a recipe to save in my file.
    5. Hearing my elderly neighbour is slightly better today, even though he had another fall in hospital yesterday.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.
