    Coo lucky OH VJSmum :)

    1. Worked from home today and hopefully will do again tomorrow :)
    2. Had a nice stroll out in the village at lunchtime to pick up something a freecycler gave me :)
    3. Got an AMAZINGLY high mark in a science test that counts towards my GCSE mark - such a relief, as we did another first part of the test tonight and the teacher will put the best mark forward to the exam board, so the pressure is off me now!
    4. Low spend day
    5. Cleaned the cooker - not much of a pleasure but it was nice to see it cleaner than it has been for many a (shhh) year!
    6. Woke up to lovely hugs from DD who slept in my bed last night :):)

    Evening

Kittikins - Well done with the exam mark:j
    Carolyntia - Welcome back

    Pleasures for today:
    1. Due to busy weekend didn't do any food shopping but used my lunch hour to buy what I needed and managed to get some bargains to stock up the freezer. Not that the freezer needs it, it is groaning at the seams.
    2. Lovely cakes at work today as was someones birthday in the office
    3. Lift home from work with the shopping so didn't have to struggle on the bus
    4. Mil birthday today, managed to get her some lovely presents thanks to survey vouchers and sale bargains. DD was also up on the MSE front and painted her a lovely canvas plus gave her some lovely bits that she had bought in the sales:money:
    5. Dinner out at a local carvery which was very nice and FIL paid.

Hugs to all who need them

    Morning all,

Mind if I pop in and share some smiles? Mine for the last couple of days:

    1. Washing drying on the line
    2. Lunch with a friend in the garden on the grass in the sun chatting for 4 hours
    3. Got a free sewing machine from said friend to start some quilting projects in return for making her soft furnishings when she redecorates (bargain!)
    4. Ikea sofa gained from Freecycle, had to buy a new cover for it BUT...
    5. Using the old denim sofa cover as shabby chic 'new' seat covers for my dining room chairs after they're painted and the substantial leftovers to make a beanbag.

Bonus smile - saw a kestrel fly over the garden - technically it was in our air space, so therefore was in our garden and goes on the bird count!
Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be ;)

Surely if you are going to take the time to have a birthday bath with your husband, the last thing you should do is read your book???;)
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Happy birthday, MHagster!

Back on mum's laptop so here are 5 for yesterday:

    1) Went into town with my brother so he could get some seed onions and door handles (oh, it's high excitement here!)

    2) Most of house/admin in order.

    3) Made quite a nice tea inc rice pudding and a blackcurrant pie that my brother had made and couldn't finish.

    4) Sister came over with some admin work for me to finish for her.

    5) Nice texts from MrN who was too tired to come round. :-(

    6) Not a bad sleep.

Happy birthday Mhagster, warmest wishes for a lovely day filled with fun and joy!

Welcome back Carolyntia and congratulations on 3 days smoke-free, keep up the good work!

    Welcome to the thread Gefjun!

Kittinkins, well done on your science GCSE high mark!

I am pottering about online, in my dressing gown, feeling super-lazy, really having a hard time to motivate myself to get dressed. The sun is not shining but the weather is dry so the day would be ok to do a laundry, but I just can't seem to shift myself into action. I am always up early, making DH packed lunch and getting everybody's breakfast ready and usually do not go back to bed, but today I made that fatal mistake and here I am at nearly 11am still undressed, unwashed and nothing useful done. Ah well, at least I have checked my emails...

I am going to give myself a good kick and get going, the house is filthy and it could really do with a clean-up. Apart from anything else, I am skipping my craft class (no project in mind) so at least I ought to make good use of my time at home.

See you all later for pleasures, have a good day x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
