Afternoon all.
Well, I had a very pleasant weekend with my sister, despite a disastrous 'special' Saturday lunch: we went to a pub that used to have a great reputation but seems to have gone severely downhill. They only had two vegetarian options, both of which were sold out , and my very expensive chicken salad was a) tiny (a handful of shredded lettuce and four thin slices of chicken) and b) soaking wet, as they hadn't bothered to dry the lettuce after washing it. They gave us our money back when we complained, and we ended up sharing a portion of chips while watching the football instead! :rotfl:
For today:
1) Writing an email of complaint to the above pub. It's rather sad but I quite enjoy writing this sort of email - it's the writing rather than the complaining I ejoy, I hasten to add!
2) My shiny new alarm clock has lost its battery power after only three days. I emailed the company I bought it from this morning and they've already got a replacement battery on its way to me by special delivery. That's impressive service! :T
3) Came home early with a nasty headache and got lots of lovely cuddles from the mog.
4) A very pleasant chat to my DM on the phone. (Well, I wasn't doing much else while I was sitting at home!)
5) The first HG yellow tulips of the year have opened - you probably won't be surprised to learn they're my favourites.
Welcome to new posters - it's lovely to meet you. :hello:Back after a very long break!0 -
Hello again everyone.
I have had a lovely day today. It always seems so completely decadent to take a random day off work! Especially when the sun is shining.
1) Day off work... whoop whoop!!
2) Sunshine!
3) Rearranged and cleaned my bedroom and it seems so much bigger! I also changed the sheets and put away my extra duvet.
4) Made a yummy fish pie for supper (well I hope it is going to be yummy) and roasted some veg for lunch tomorrow
5) Got round to ordering some new contact lenses (with cash back obviously!)
6) Paid some money from the mortage pig money bank into bank
7) Went to the library to return some books that I had finished and pick up some new books
hope you evening treats you well.

Hi all
A warm welcome to Mandamoo!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1 - Up early, breakfast with DH and made him a packed lunch. Because I take care of what he eats, he is still on course with the low-carb and his tummy is shrinking visibly!
2 - Out straight after breakfast and managed to do all my food shopping early in the day.
3 - Good hard keep fit class (a really good teacher today!).
4 - Lunch at my friend's.
5 - My friend (the one where I had lunch) really wants me to work for her, a few hours per week then becoming a few hours per month, doing her paperwork as she is going self-employed. I really did not want to charge her but she is insisting, so I charged half my normal fee and we are both happy. This might just be the start of my business after all!
6 - Found a credit card statement in the street, coincidentally it belonged to a good friend/neighbour. I called her to tell her that I found this paper and she was really relieved - it would appear that her husband lost it (oh dear, who's going to be in the doghouse tonight then?). Glad I could be of help but feeling a bit sorry for the husband (NOT! LOL).
Off to cook family dinner now, have a good evening all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
