    Welcome VJsmum!!

    Your dinner sounds gorgeous!!
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • I've not been here for a week or so.I don't think that I'll manage to catch up....

My pleasures for the last few days and today:

1 Am on holiday for ten days,as off yesterday.Bliss...

2 Had loads of NSDs recently.

3 Have acquired a large metal clothes-horse that had been put out at the bins and is in perfect nick. It's the exact same as the one I had, which fell apart last year and I had to put out.

4 I've finally hit on the perfect (for me) HM yoghurt recipe.

    5 Winter is over!

Have a good weekend, and hi to all you newbies!
  • kittikins - haven't been on for a while so was unaware of any problem with you and Mr A but very pleased to hear that whatever it was has been sorted and that the L word is being bandied about:T
    Hi to VJsmum :hello:

Am I allowed to feel peeved that it's rainy and miserable out today after such a fantastic week of weather? I'm just disappointed is all - wanted to go to the first car boot sale of the season and the out-laws are here so really wanted some time for DH and I to be on our own :(

    Here's yesterday's pleasures:
    1) A lovely day again.
    2) Felt excited about our planned trip to the National Maritime Museum and the Planetarium. Need to find a cheap Travelodge to stay in overnight.
    3) Was given a large sack of wool oddments from the MIL.
    4) Last week DS2 had the idea at Beavers to collect for the Japan appeal and had put all his money from his money pig into an empty smarties tube. Was proud of him for that.
    5) Fish and chips for tea.

Hope everyone has a great weekend - despite the change in weather.

    marmite:well done on your NSD's!

Well it's late Saturday night, in bed all cooried in with 2 quilts! Quite a bit cooler tonight! Had one of my new opshop cardi (ballerina style) on today & it was just lovely!

1.DD1 had been on sleepover at friends,so went to pick her up but she'd been asked to stay on, so that was fine by me! A phone call would have been nice, saved a trip but heh ho!

    2. So rest of us went for brunch.....I had a scone....thought that was more bready than cakey or am I deluding myself? It was very nice with sultanas & dates in it.

    3. Was the cheapest yet for my food shop.....until my husband plonked a crate of beer in trolley, however still cheaper than I was a month ago ,even with beer.

4.Son got a haircut! He has never liked getting his hair cut & wears it longish, but every so often it does need cutting. So it was my pleasure not his!! He was not a happy teenager after it ...but is fine now!

5.Had a sausage in a roll for tea. That & my scone is all I've had today. Hardly fading away!

I'm in a much better mood today. Met 2 ladies from Glasgow today & had a wee chat! Nice to talk when people understand everything you say first time!

    Have a good weekend x

ps banana gate! $10/kg in Aldi & $12 in Woolworths.....er ,no thanks!

    Afternoon all,

Not posted for a while. Hope everyone is well :)

    1. Soup for lunch. Not homemade, but Baxters and lovely with some thick bread and butter.
    2. Decluttering the house - sorting the master bedroom at the moment and the shock of finding I had carpet all these years....
    3. Sorting stuff for the charity shop. I love bagging up bits and hopefully getting some MSE bargains in the process.
    4. Holding back on the spending today. Just a loaf, nothing major. We don't need much to be happy do we?
    5. Having a lovely shower.

    1. A lovely day out with DNeighbour and her DD, went to a discount store and bought lots of things I 'need' including a marble chopping board which was half price when I got to the till :D

    2. Stopped at a garden centre for a snack lunch, a big bowl of soup and a seeded roll for £2.50p. Yummy

    3. Bought 2 hanging baskets as they were 241. Neighbour bought some as well, now the front of our houses put the rest of the square to shame :p

    4. Popped into the charity shop on the way home, found a brand new, 3 section toiletries bag to replace my broken one. Just right for holidays and only £1.49!

    5. Out this evening to celebrate a friends birthday, she doesn't know yet her friends are descending on her to take her out to dinner ;)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend
