Hi all, have had a pretty miserable day and am still feeling blue, but sure I'll be chirpier tomorrow, it will be Friday after all.
1. Sunny day
2. Nice walk through Hyde Park at lunchtime
3. Freebie lunch with colleagues
4. Thought I'd lost my parking ticket but hadn't so that was a distinct pleasure as I didn't want to have to phone my boss and ask if I could put another one on my company credit card!
5. Spent money I really don't have the other day on buying a CD and it turned up and is great, really nice music, a few melancholy tracks that suit my mood tonight.0 -
(((Hugs))) to everyone feeling down, poorly, or just needing one
1. nsd
2. Postie brought me a sun cream trial, just right for the coming fine weather
3. She also brought me a voucher for doing surveys
4. Had an invitation to go out for the day on Saturday but had already accepted another, which I'm looking forward to. My social diary is getting crowded
5. Have set the wm and bm to start at 5am to take advantage of econ7
Night night, sweet dreams

Morning
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. Finding out I didn't have to sit in a really boring meeting to minute it. It was even worth missing out on the free lunch I would have got
2. Finding a suitable birthday present for MIL. I was really struggling and OH was no help but had a flash of inspiration yesterday and it didn't cost too much
3. Helped out at the local Friends of Guides AGM last night. We support all the local guides, brownies and rainbows with help at events and fundraising for trips and events. It was very disappoining at how few parents turned up
4. DD won two raffle prizes, one being a Love2Shop voucher that I had donated :rotfl:
5. Sunshine again yesterday, makes the walk home from work so much nicer
hugs to all who need them0 -
My five for yesterday
1. More gardening.
2. Tuna pasta bake for tea which everyone enjoyed.
3. More sunshine.
4. A NSD.
5. More knitting. The back is nearly finished.0 -

I've been a lurker on this thread for ages but I today I'm going to bite the bullet and start posting. Here are my pleasures for yesterday:
- Stopped smoking- this is a big one and I'm determined for the sake of my health and pocket to do it this time.
- Good day at work getting loads done.
- A lovely sunny day.
- A nice long walk with DH at lunch time great to get a nice long chat with him and also get some exercise.
- My free mothers day cards arrived from Funki Pigeon and they are lovely can't wait to give them to DM and DMIL.

Don't worry everything is going to be AMAZING :j0 -
Afternoon all, today's pleasures:
1. Making a batch of lemon curd
2. Making apple and mint jelly for the first time - did an apple and rosemary one a few weeks ago and it was delicious, so decided to try with mint today. Hopefully will taste OK.
3. Trying out a new cake recipe from Good Food magazine - the chocolate and caramel layer cake.
4. The sun shining here all day
5. DS and his GF ringing earlier to say they have arrived safely in Devon for their well deserved break. Just hope the weather stays fine for them over the weekend.0 -
Evening, everyone. I'm a very tired bunny this evening. I had planned to do some gardening while it was light but I think I'll just bimble and tidy up bits. Anyway, here's my pleasures:
1. Got stocked up on chicken breasts & sausages from the butcher's so I won't have to get them for a while
2. The sunshine is beautiful.
3. It's the weekend.
4. Got in and started reading a bit of Nella Last in the 1950s with a cup of tea. I'll go back to that in a bit.
5. Had a nice evening at a friends' house last night for a birthday, with a lovely tea and a cake.
Have a nice evening, everyone.

Evening all.
I'm feeling rather tired and irritable tonight - the irritability comes largely from the fact that I'm still waiting to hear the results of the cat's blood test - the vet's surgery has promised to phone me three times now and haven't done so. They're now saying they'll phone when the surgery closes at 7 - we'll see!
In the interim:
1) Pomegranate (sp?) porridge for breakfast. It was a bit of an experiment that turned out nicely - I'll do it again as soon as I've worked out how to get the seeds out of the shell without splashing juice everywhere. (Any tips?)
2) Nice, warm (if hazy) sunshine all day.
3) The mog has apparently forgiven me for my cruelty in taking him to the vet yesterday and has started purring again.
4) Found an interesting-sounding local meet-up group on the internet - all I've got to do now is find the time (and the courage, if I'm honest) to see if they're after new members and, if so, if they'd be interested in me becoming a member.
5) As my sister is now coming to visit tomorrow rather than today (a typically late decision on her part!), I'm going to have a dull but pleasant evening in with a pizza, a glass or two of wine, and a book.
ETA:
6) The vet did finally phone and the results of the blood test show there's no problems at the moment, although the results could indicate the first signs of kidney trouble (but may equally indicate nothing of the kind). I've just got to keep an eye on the mog for now, which is a relief.
stuffandnonsense - welcome to the thread, and very well done for giving up smoking. :T
Tealady - I know exactly what you mean about getting out of dull meetings - I never find the free lunch is good enough to be worth the boredom!
Ladyhawk - hope you're feeling better and less cidered today!Back after a very long break!0 -
1. the delightful weather
2. went a long walk and had a picnic with DH on Hergest Ridge
3. Seeing the wild ponies on the Ridge
4. Wild flowers starting to bloom and the hedges leaves are starting to come out
5. Braised pork and salad for dinner later."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0
