Morning all!
Thanks for the good wishes about the scan! And piece of virtual pie on its way CCP! Lovely to see you back Frith, kids can be contrary creatures when they want, but I did giggle at the selective eye shutting! Glad the romance is back on track!
My five pleasures for yesterday/this morning:
1. Scan was fantastic, they go into so much detail now, far more than when I had dd3 almost 10 years ago! Even the heart valves were counted! Anyway, appears spud is a spudette, so another lil girl. Kids and I are all really really excited!
2. Best friend took me for tapas after the scan, was delicious and tried a new dish I'd not had before, crushed peas and mint with feta - made a lovely cooling salad type dish, so something new for bbq accompaniments!
3. Sun shining and being warm enough to not need a coat, yesterday and today! I love how the nice weather makes everyone smile.
4. Having a home I love coming back to, so easy to forget what a blessing it is. It may not be perfect, it isn't, and it's frequently got things falling apart and is a mess, but it's home and I love it!
5. Children all being lovely, even dd2 who is in a fair bit of bother with me and her dad and school right now, much as she would sometimes like to be tough and not care what others think, she actually does care a lot - which is making sorting out some of her more recent behaviour a lot easier!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Welcome back Frith hugs to you.
Ladyhawk congratulations on the cake win.

3. Making flapjacks and also pineapple upsidedown cake.
4. My orchid is flowering again. I was given it abiut 5 yrs ago and its still alive somehow and its great when it flowers.

Get well Now Mhags :A
Wishing you all the luck in the world for this evening Caterina
Many congratulations on your forthcoming little girl mummysaver
I can just picture the pinea guigs 'popcorning' CCP :rotfl:
Hope the car is doing what it should, Ladyhawk, and hope I'm not putting a hex on it by mentioning it!
Isn't it strange how things snowball?...
1. I was getting ready to go out to take something back which wasn't suitable, and buy a couple of birthday pressies, when I thought I'd just pop on to MSE first, and saw the Amazon Guiness Book offer. Both pressies bought and sent without me leaving the chair!
2. Then the phone rang and it was someone telling me there's a cheque in the post for me, so decided to wait til it arrives tomorrow before I take the item back, killing two bnirds with one stone. And saving time and petrol
3. Ten minutes later the phone rang again, someone telling me I may be entitled to more allowance as my disability hasn't been correctly recorded!
4. Because I didn't have to go out I changed into gardening clothes and went to pull the odd weed from the front paving slabs. The HA gardeners were there doing the general areas, and one sprayed the slabs for me so the weeds won't, hopefully, grow back too soon.
5. Everything's been so time (and money) saving this morning I can put my feet up and watch a dvd I've been trying to get round to for weeks.
And all because I snook onto MSE when I should have been doing other things :T0 -
Evening all.
sparrer - I tend to refer to them as pinea guigs, too - I thought I was the only one to call them that!
Caterina - good luck with the interview! I hope you like them and they like you.
mummysaver - thanks very much for the virtual slice of pie - that was just what I needed when I got to work this morning.
mhagster - I hope your headache's long gone by the time you read this.
1) More nice warm sunshine today.
2) A very cute Yorkshire terrier who came to me for a cuddle while waiting for his owner outside a shop. (My dog magnet abilities never fail!)
3) The first HG tulip of the year is just starting to show its red petals.
4) Picked some HG spring onions for dinner. I left them over winter in the hope they'd improve in size, but they're still no more than over-ambitious chives: they should taste good, though.
5) Vet visit tomorrow morning so I can have a short lie-in before beginning the effort of getting a reluctant cat into a box! (And thanks everyone for your best wishes for the mog - I hope they have an effect and the vet finds nothing wrong with him.)Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening, here's some pleasures:
1. Spent a pleasant evening at Mum's where she cooked a lovely shepherd's pie for us for tea.
2. Had a nice chat with a colleague at work.
3. The sunshine.
4. Got another LoveFilm disc through the post.
That's about it. It's been one of those averagey kind of days. Oh well. Here's to a great tomorrow!
All the best, Caterina!
