One more pleasure for me:
6) Taking advtange of having Thursday morning off to place only my second ever Approved Foods order. I try not to go on to the AF website too often as it's full of tempting things, but there were a couple of bargains I couldn't bear to pass on this time.
Ladyhawk - I love that cake - you're a genius! :TBack after a very long break!0 -
Evening,
Ladyhawk - Cake looks fab
CCP - Hugs to you and your cat
nich29580 - Hello and welcome:wave:
Pleasures for today:
1. More washing line dried today and DD had brought it in for me
2. Huge pile of ironing done this morning before work. Was desperately needed after the amount of washing done at the weekend.
3. Walk at lunchtime with a friend, she is behind with her training for the moonwalk so have promised to walk with her 3 times this week at lunchtime. Stops me spending money and gets me away from my desk
4. Weekly shop at Mr.T done after work. Lots of things bought on special offfer so came in right on budget but gots lots of extras
5. Tasty dinner and enjoying a naughty glass of wine0 -
Morning all!
Welcome Nich - I love reading everyones 5 a day too, always makes me smile!
CCP - I placed an AP order yesterday, got a text saying was being picked and packed within an hour, and just had another giving me a one hour delivery slot for this afternoon, I'm impressed! Will be fully stocked on noodles, wraps and couscous!
My five for yesterday eve/this morning:
1. Spud kicking in response to dd3's voice so she could feel him or her! Only seems to respond to her, so she is beyond happy!
2. Having my scan today, will hopefully find out if Spud is pink or blue!
3. Best friend taking a day off work especially to accompany me, babydaddy appears to have gone AWOL! I'm so blessed to have such great friends who are always there for me.
4. Coffee ice cream in the freezer, finally remembered to pick some up after work last night, not strictly OS, but it was on offer lol!
5. Finding a bag of chicken in the freezer that I'd forgotten about, it was hidden behind the vast supplies of pork in there, so chicken and ham pie is a definite for dinner tonight - kids will be very happy as it's a huge favourite of theirs!
Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Enjoy your scan mummysaver!
well a bit of a bleurgh kind of day for me, my tolerance levels for being a housewifely person are wearing thin! Am rather bored! I need a job or something to do! However, I think I'm a bit like Caterina and looking for an almost perfect job! If we were desperate I would be out working doing anything but I am ready after doing 'wee jobs' within school hours to do something a bit more!
I'm missing my friends and just feeling a bit sorry for myself.....will snap out of it!
1.Took dd2 to school ,walked there & back with neighbour.
2.Spent too much time online but did find a fun site called https://www.televisiontunes.com & reminisced about old programme theme tunes!
3.Forecast rain didn't come so got washing out & slightly damp but ironed & on clothes horse to dry off!
4. Made tacos for dinner ,son made a lovely salad to go with it!
5. We've all just watched a funny programme called 'Raising Hope'. Don't know if you get it in the UK, it's American but it's hilarious. So nice for all of us to sit together & chortle!!
Hope you all have a good day!0 -
Just typed a massive message, only to lose it! Will try again...
Sorry for the lack of messages over recent days. Last year we dropped the laptop on the garden path and dented the corner and knocked the hinge about. A couple of weeks ago it gave out altogether so we managed with the keyboard part on a chair and the screen leaning precariously on the chair back but it has gone to PCWorld now, seemingly never to be heard of again! Thank you for thinking of me :-) esp. Sparrer ;-)
So, good news and bad news for the past week or so! Bad news first, then a collection of random pleasures, I think...
I left MrN last Wednesday. :-(((
Having some problems with sons. I thought it would be a good idea to bring in the home/school partnership lady so they could have the opporunity to talk about anything worrying them. This has all gone terribly wrong! I found I could barely talk to the lady myself (about the breakdown of my rubbish marriage and the effect it has had on the boys) and was in tears several times before she even got to the house. Obv I didn't tell the boys this but they have also taken against the whole idea with a new level of hostility and stubborness... She went in to school to see smaller son and he did agree to go into the spare classroom to do some art with her. I warned her that he has selective mutism and might not talk at all. However, I never dreamed that he would suddenly get "selective opening of the eyes-ism" so he refused to open his eyes for the duration of the appointment, ending by crying so hard she gave up and took him back to his classroom! Older son is refusing point blank to speak to her at all and has said he will speak to me instead. Which he is, at great length, about the old days, his father and his father's new girlfriend who is "shouty" and that I should tell his father not to have his girlfriend there when they are visiting. Hmm, we can imagine how well that little chat would go down!
Tired and stressed.
Right, random pleasures, in no particular chronological or other order at all.
1) Smaller son's finger getting much better. It's been just over a fortnight and he has gone to school today with just plasters over it. I thought it was about time it did a bit of bending! The nail is still on (goodness knows what is holding it) but it no longer looks like a squashed sausage.
2) Went to see a friend yesterday for lunch and popped into Ikea on the way.
3) Went to see my aunt and uncle (nearly 92).
4) Soon going to have the guttering replaced outside. It is so nice to be steadily getting jobs done, after so many years. Got to have the fireplace finished next, it's been "temporary" since 2003!
5) Much better weather. Went for a long walk on Saturday afternoon and the boys have been playing out on the rope swing.
6) Went swimming on Sunday.
7) Boys had a teacher training day on Friday so we went to Sealife in Birmingham on the train.
8) Had some chips on the way home from SeaLife near the Clee Hills (had the chips by the C Hills, I mean) and followed a massive stag down the lane!
9) Made some brownies on Sunday afternoon.
10) Bigger son loving karate and smaller son might start once his finger is better.
11) Had hair cut at college last week for £4 and it is OK. Also given voucher for any treatment they offer (they do loads) so will take advantage of that.
12) Pretty much on top of housework and paperwork.
13) Did the front little strip of garden between the house and the road.
14) Bigger son doing well at school still. He had 2 SAT's papers to do as homework and had finished them before I got up on Saturday morning!
15) Back together with MrN as of Saturday and feeling slightly more hopeful. :-)0 -
Oh Frith, so glad to see you back honeybunch. That's going to count as one of my pleasures for today already0

Welcome back Frith!
Just popping in on my lunch break to say... I WON TWO OF THE THREE CATEGORIES AT THE OFFICE BAKE OFF!!!:j:j:j
I won for best monster and best cake!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Welcome back Frith, so good to hear from you and know all is (reasonably) okay
Congratulations Ladyhawk, we knew it was obvious the dragon would win. Very well done for the cake first too :T
