Having lost two posts this morning I gave up.
Mine are for today
1. Lovely weather
2. Traffic jam wasn't too long.
3. Roast chicken for tea and plenty leftover.
4. A couple of walks with my dog and picked some blossom.
5. Cut the grass which I hate doing but it does look good once its done.0 -
Evening
Pleasures for the last couple of days:
1. Day out to Ideal Home Show with DD yesterday. Free tickets of course
2. Didn't spend too much money at the above show but did get a few bits
3. Walked 12 miles today in Windsor Great Park. The views of Windsor Castle are amazing from the top of the long walk. The longer distance walks are getting a bit better but need to up the mileage next week:eek:
4. Lovely ice-cream at the half way mark on our walk, yummy.
5. HM fish and chips for dinner at the request of DD and OH. Everyone ate well and enjoyed plus so much cheaper than from the fish shop
Hugs to all who need them0 -
My weekend goodies
1. DD, MrA and I went out for a picnic and a walk yesterday in the beautiful sunshine
2. DD and I helped shepherd a naughty lamb back into her field with the farmer and his dog, whilst MrA helpfully called out "mint sauce" to the little creature, naughty boy! She was soooo cute
3. I had another early night last night and slept like a log again. MrA is obviously a good influence
4. Great swim with DD today, and renewed her annual swimming pass so we can go whenever we like - we even went to the outside pool, how amazing is that in March?!
5. Another lovely picnic with DD
6. Made a daisy chain
7. The laughter of DD playing with neighbours' children (interconnecting gardens), it's lovely that between us, we have 6 gorgeous children who all get on well together and they run in and out of all our houses during the summer months.
8. Finished off the bottle of wine that MrA and I started last night with one of my neighbours and put the world to rights!
9. Had tea out in the garden
10. I realised this morning I've lost 3lb since Tuesday by being a tad more conscious about what I'm eating. Hoorah!
11. Enjoying the Universe programme on TV now
12. Looking forward to cuddling DD when I go up to my bed
13. Looking back over my wonderful weekend.......and forward to hopefully many more lovely ones with DD and MrA.
14. Just realised today was a NSD, yippee!0 -
For Today
1. Several perfect pink camellias are out
2. Went for a 2.5 mile "run" and actually ran half of it (doing great north run in September so need to build it up)
3. digging over my veggie patch and realising how much last years hard work has paid off
4. A nice long soak in a bubbly bath
5. A long phone call to my elderly and a bit grumpy dad and he was quite chirpyI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Morning everyone,
What a wonderful day... made all the sweeter by the fact I am on holiday today.
So let me try to remember what I did yesterday...
1) Played badminton in the morning and I am no longer the worst player there!!
2) Went for a walk with my Meet Up group then had a lovely scone at the cafe over lookingthe Downs... very relaxed
3) Went bowling/ had dinner with some friends I haven't seen for a while.
4) Found a penny
5) Yummy salady lunch
Have a great day.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
I'll summarise a week's highlights!
1. Making shepherd's pie from total scratch as I used to do when the children were small.
2. Listening to a wonderful live group (Other Roads) at my local live music club.
3. Washing on the line!
4. Ironing with steam-generator iron. Wheee!
5. Chats with good friends.
6. Keeping to my using up toiletries vows and feeling very pampered.
7. Finding just the right card to send for a sad occasion. So hard to do, 99% of sympathy cards are naff, imo. All of them seem to feature what my mum called 'death lilies' too. She hated Arums.
8. De-cluttering a bit more.
9. A new book to look forward to from Amazon Vine.
10. Home baked bread from my son's fair hand.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
It's been a lovely day here, quite autumnaly crisp first thing then warmed up to a nice 24o.
1. Assembly at school.....short & sweet this morning, last few ,whilst interesting have went on.....and on!
2. Had a most excellent mooch around op shop. Got great half price bargains! Shorts & skirts for girls and a cardi for me but nabbed by dd1!
3. Went to library, caught up on my weekly Casualty fix.
4. Home & had beans on toast for lunch, was most yummy! Got caught up on washing & ironing.
5. Made cupcakes for my birthday cake but I will not be partaking, tomorrow!
I am really enjoying reading about all your gardening forays! Wish I had daffodils.....not quite birthday time without them or wee lambs0 -
Catching up for a few days:
1. Noting that the first batch of frogspawn in our tiny pond has dissolved and we have lots of tiny wriggling tadpoles (and, unfortunately, lurking newts waiting to gobble some of them up!).
2. Good session in the garden, sowing Kavalo Nero. My first sown batch of Kohl Rabi are peeking up in their compost trays.
3. Using up more mixed fruit from the freezer by making a jellied compote.
4. Entertaining evening on Saturday at a quiz night with some new acquaintances.
5. Having got a big batch of washing drying out in the sunshine.
6. Managing to buy a large stock of First & Second Class stamps at Costco a few days ago at a discount before the price goes up on april 4th.0 -
A warm welcome :hello: to all the new posters, lovely to hear about all your pleasures
A bit all over the place with posts lately, but will try to catch up..
1. Found a new fabric shop and bought some amazing black, cream and silver curtains, and cream voiles for the dining area, both at half price.
2. Phoned the kitchen people to complain they've not been back to remove their rubbish and return my back door key  and told them the inspector is coming tomorrow. They're coming today
3. The above scuppered the usual Monday pulm rehab class but gives me extra time to take up and re-hem the voiles I bought yesterday, and do lots of little odd jobs that are outstanding
4. Since sorting out the store cupboard pre new kitchen I've not had to do a major shop, still eating well from existing stock
5. So excited, looked at my potato tubs this morning and 8 out of the 11 have tiny, tiny green shoots showing !!!! :j Looks like my first ever spuds are on their way
Have a good day and a sunny week

Still no laptop here. Good to read Kittikin's pleasures! ;-)
Pleasures for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not necessarily in the right order!
1) Bigger son went to a sleepover on Friday so smaller son and I had some peace and quiet. We went for a walk in the forest in the evening. No deer this time but plenty of bats.
2) Had some buttons off Ebay which we've enjoyed sorting through and can use for craft type projects.
3) My sons away this weekend so I went for a bit of a drive on Saturday morning.
4) Went to bed for a second on Saturday afternoon and got woken up 3 hours later!
5) My sister babysat MrN's youngest 4 on Saturday evening and we went out for a meal. :-)
6) House and garden passably tidy.
7) Bit of a lie in on Sunday.
8) Went to my sister's on Sunday then went looking for a second hand table for her and had lunch out at a pub.
9) Went swimming with MrN and youngest 3 on Sunday afternoon which was fun.
10) Made some brownies.
11) Sons came back from their father's.
12) My school friend came for tea.
13) We did an Earth Hour (a day late as sons had been away) so lit the lanterns, had hot chocolate made on the primus stove and taught my friend how to play Murder in the Dark!
14) Gruesomeness for smaller son which will be fun for him to show everyone at school today...... during Earth Hour, he wanted another change of plaster for where his finger got shut in the car door and broken and the nail wrecked. (He did it 3 weeks ago today). I got the gauze and tape ready for the big night time bandage and he pulled the plaster off - and the nail came right off! Bleurgh! It looks really awful but also very impressive. :-D
15) MrN came round last night and seems happy at the moment. :-)
16) Went into town with my brother today and am just cleaning and tidying otherwise.
Have a good day, don't know when I shall be back online again apart from on my phone and I don't seem able to post from there.0
