Hi all
Happy Pancake Day and Happy Women's Day!
I have not been around for a couple of days (doing things and not sitting indoors while the weather has been so nice yesterday). Here are my pleasures for today:
1 - Sunshine again!
2 - DS made breakfast, oniony cheesy scrambled eggs with chilli, delicious.
3 - Another batch of laundry is going out in the garden today!
4 - Made the decision to stop signing on for Job Seekers Allowance, as I am not really looking for work at the moment and every time I go to sign on I feel bad about it. Will start again when I shall seriously start looking for work, meanwhile I shall have to be a bit more careful with my expenditure.
5 - Did not go to craft class today because the weather is too lovely to be cooped indoors, so I am about to go for a walk in the park.
Have a good day everybody xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hello!
Sorry to have gone AWOL - been having a bit of a time of it. Since coming off anti depressants, I've been having some difficult times, but I'm battling on, and coming out the other side :j Today it's as if the mists are lifting again. So, recent pleasures:-
1) All this lovely sunshine - what a treat! Does so much to cheer us all up
2) Re-commenced decluttering of spare room - I can see the carpet again
3) Realise I've got some lovely friends who care
4) Fit in some lovely jeans I couldn't wear before my diet (half heartedly doing WW - no more weight loss, but only a lb gained)
5) Seeing some friends Thursday and Friday which I'm looking forwards to.

Afternoon all! Here's my pleasures for today:
1. Picked up 5 lemons for £1 off the market, along with two lovely looking mangoes (also £1)
2. Reversed onto the driveway past a parked car! (little things, eh?)
3. Another disc of Lost sent by LoveFilm.
4. It's Pancake Day! I love pancakes
5. I feel organised, for some reason.
Hope everyone has a good day, or evening. Isn't it nice now the nights are a little lighter? A week or so ago I'd have had the lights on and the curtains closed when I got in from work, but now it's bliss to have natural light! That's another pleasure right there, actually.
happy flipping!

Last few days have been a bit grim including smaller son getting his finger shut in the car door as he got out at school yesterday morning. (When I say "shut", I mean the door actually closed completely and he had to ask bigger son to open it!) Nail 90% off (completely ripped out where it starts growing, bleurgh) and finger broken. :-(
So yesterday was medical centre, hospital, radiology, nurse, antibiotics... He was SO good about the whole incident. He doesn't really like being manhandled by other people but was polite to all the NHS staff and even made a joke about the Wolves sticker in the children's treatment room (then told us twice that it was a joke!)
Then we had yet another power cut until 11pm so I couldn't have updated on here anyway!
Then some almost talking about issues with MrN.
All a bit pants.
Anyway, will be back later and definitely find 5 for today - if it kills me!0 -
My five are
1. Lovely sunrise this morning.

3. A collegue left a note thanking me for having done something for her.
4. Quiet evening in by myself.
5. House seemed tidy when I arrived home.0 -

Evening
Frith - Hope your DS is ok, ouch:eek:
Pleasures for today:
1. Getting the free Morph with the Mirror, OH and DD have both played nicely tonight with this.
2. My cousin had a baby boy just before midnight. She has had a difficult time conceiving and holding on full term so this is a real blessing. They were told she was having a girl at the scans though so he is a real but lovely suprise.
3. Bought myself some socks in M&S for walking and as I had a couple of pound left on a credit note they only cost 28p.
4. Chicken and bacon pasta for dinner followed by pancakes. DD is a pancake demon and will eat them all night but made her stop at 4. Also made some savoury muffins for lunch boxes. Trying to fill DD up at the moment is a losing battle. She is eating non-stop, am expecting a growth spurt any time soon.
5. Walking home from work and it still being light :T
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Right, need at least 5 for today!
1) Smaller son with the broken finger had a really good night's sleep.
2) Smaller son had the morning off school so we played Mario Kart etc.
3) MrN made our lunch. :-)
4) Went to Hereford while everyone was at school. A completely frivolous trip, really. I did buy a first aid kit for the car (after realising yesterday how useful one might be....) and lots of stuff for future finger bandaging as it's going to be ages before the nail falls off and it'll need fresh bandages then plasters every day. Nothing at all in the charity shops, disappointingly. Some nice sprouty bean things in the health food shop - £1 for a massive container. Oh, and a new bag from FatFace - not at all MSE but it was in the sale.
5) Sat in the cathedral for a long time, pondering.
6) Went outside the cathedral and remembered that was the first archaeology I ever did (now underneath the Mappa Mundi museum). Looked across - and more archaeology was taking place, slightly further along from where I worked! It was all screened off so it must be graveyard stuff as well. I nearly asked for a look around.
7) Got a massive bag of potatoes on the way home (from outside a farm) for £1.
8) MrN made my tea as well!
9) Both sons happy.0 -
Frith that was 9.....very impressive!
Long shot here , does anyone have a copy of the book 'You can Swim Jim 'by Kate Umansky?
it's a kids book, telling in rhyme the tale of Jim learning to swim!
My friends daughter who is blind has just swam a full length at her swimming lesson & I thought I would re-write the words to fit her name if possible!
Tried googling but won't give me words....just wants to sell me the book!
Thanks

Frith your poor son, pleased he coped so well and wishing him better
1. Not a very good start to my frugalest of frugal efforts, bought a black venetian blind for the kitchen on amazon but I did have lots of credit (from doing surveys) so in theory it cost me nothing
2. Spent well under £20 in Mr M on a weeks groceries, dog/cat food and some bins to grow my potatoes in.
3. Postie brought me a letter from the elec co., confirming my dd is being dropped by £10 a month
4. Found a cruise which I think/hope will please DM, just waiting for my brothers approval. Sent him and DM lots of print outs with details.
5. A Passage Through India
Night night, sleepy tight
