Wow LazyLizb - does your neighbour's son travel? Cost me £15 to get my car fully spruced up the other week, mind you it took me about 40 minutes just to get car seats and rubbish out so that the man could clean it.....eek!!

    Early ones for me :)

    1. Nice texting with MrA, feeling reassured that I was just being paranoid this weekend, phew! Hopefully seeing him for pancakes tomorrow night, yum yum :)
    2. Did a Pinecone survey, so looking forward to my £4 LV coming through :)
    3. Redid my figures and I think I have a bit more to survive on this month than at first feared, yippee :)
    4. The sound of DD and her little chums giggling away in the sitting room, I don't think I want to know how much mess they're making ;)
    5. Nice cup of tea and a natter with a friend earlier on
    6. Neighbour took DD up to school for me this morning as I had a forgotten work phone call to do very early on
    7. Did a teensy tiny bit of gardening so that the girls could play out, but as yet they've been everywhere but the garden!
    8. Aiming for NSD no. 15......think I'll leave my purse at home when I go out to college later as it'll remove any and all temptations!
    9. Seeing the sun and being gently mocked by other mummies on the school run for being out in flipflops, a dress and leggings when they're all still snuggled up in coats and boots - it's summer in my mind, even if nobody's else's!! :)
    10. My "nasty boss" sent me and my lovely boss an email thanking me for my recent hard work and saying how amazing I am!! Wonders will never cease... :)
    11. Nice chat on the phone with DM just now.

    Here's some pleasures for today:

    1. Reverse parked this morning!
    2. There was a green woodpecker in the garden again. I'm taking his return a bit cautiously as while it's great to see him, it probably means there's ants in the lawn. Still, nice to see. :)
    3. Leftover chicken & ham pie for tea ;)
    4. Having a power cut, but knowing that I'll be fine if it doesn't come on before I have to cook tea. There are ways ;)
    5. Researching solar ovens yesterday! Just something I read about on a blog and thought how cool would one be?

Went to Mr M for some shopping today, and came back with 4 gorgeously sweet oranges for 60p. I've just had one cut up into quarters and oh my it was good. I've saved the peel in an old marge tub in the freezer and will have a go at making my own candied peel with it :D Waste not, want not... Today has been rather mixed at work - there have been good moments and some not so good moments. I'm home now though - must concentrate on here. The power is thankfully back on here. This is the 2nd one in 3 days so I hope there's not major trouble in the works. Ahh, a cup of tea. I've started using the teabags twice - am I getting a bit OTT?

    Have a good evening, everyone.

    1. Being very MSE and making a toothpaste discarded as 'empty' by my son, last a week for me.
    2. Slathering myself in lotion after cutting up an 'empty' tube - there was LOADS left.
    3. Completing (almost) learners' files for work - the culmination of a lot of hard work. And 2 of my learners in my other job passed tests. (One didn't, though. She can re-sit, however)
    4. Pulled muscles have been better today, ditto arthritis, pleasure being the absence of pain.
    5. I got paid! Last pay-day was Jan 24th so this was quite welcome.

Tomorrow is a very busy day, may not post till late.

    2) Good tidy up of the living room. Found a Roman coin under the sofa (as you do). :-D

 I wish I found interesting things like that under my sofa - I've only ever found cat fur there! ;)

mhagster - thanks very much for the banana cake recipe - I've got a few too many bananas sitting around at the moment so I might well try making that later in the week. :)

missminx - apple and blackberry pie -. I've also got a load of pears so I'm now thinking I might do a pear and blackberry pie - or banana cake? Decisions, decisions!

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Very long lie-in this morning - I just couldn't wake up and ended up sleeping for nearly 12 hours. :o Oh well, it can't hurt occasionally!

    2) Put the washing out on the line. :)

    3) Walked into town along the seafront in the sunshine.

    4) Found a throw to protect my new sofa from cat claws, half price in a cheapy shop so only £20 (which isn't a bad price considering how big the throw is).

    5) Curry for dinner - I was going to get a supermarket one but couldn't justify the cost to myself so I've got a HM one simmering away as I type. :money:

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening,

    For today (a day off):

1 Had a good night's sleep,so forgave the wee cat for waking me early.

2 Went for a run and also walked into town instead of taking the bus.

3 A friend praised my HM ginger cake.

4 Had a natter on the phone with my sister.

    5 Lovely sunny day,cold though.

mhagster it never occured to me that Australia produces bananas. It's such a huge country as you say, which would explain high transportation costs.(How awful that 90% of crops have been destroyed).I also love bananas. Thanks for the recipe.

missminx007 Hi and welcome!Hope tomorrow is a better day...

Hi MOneysav3r and Lazy Liz !

    Have a good evening x

    Evening

    Pleasures for today:
    1. Pile of ironing done this morning before work. Is it just me or is this a never ending task.
    2. Bought a newspaper today to get the free plastercine, will make a nice easter present for niece and nephew. Plus at only 45p each a bargain:money:. They will get too much chocolate so this is something differnet for them. Have had to hide this from DD as even though she is far too old I know she would sit happily and mould something.
    3. Huge bag of potatoes from the market for £1. Am considering buying some meat from the market as has some real bargains but not sure on the quality. May buy a chicken next week and see what its like.
    4. Lovely chat with my oldest niece on the phone. She has just been promoted and sounds like she is settling into her new house
    5. Easy dinner of spag bol which everyone ate with no compalints.

Hugs to all who need them.

just a quickie for yesterday as I fell asleep on the sofa last night and woke up too late to post :o

    1. nsd
    2. Arranged with my brother to take DM on a cruise for her 90th at end of May, something she's wanted to do most of her life. Neither of us likes the idea of cruising though, and I drew the short straw
    3. Hours spend poring over the computer looking for said cruise, quite a pleasure in fact (mainly cos I should have been doing housework :o). There's so much on offer that DM is going to love it
    4. Gave the pets a good brush, they're all neat and tidy now
    5. Working out how I'm going to be even more frugal for the next 3 months to save as many £, and lose as many lbs, as I can. Quite looking forward to seeing how many more savings I can make, especially as I thought I make as many as there are now!

Have good Tuesday everyone, enjoy Pancake Day

evening all......on this Pancake day....not a pancake fan but made them for kids tonight for their pudding with ice -cream!

    1. Walked DD2 to school, then got bus to next town, I had to pay for a GP appointment last month but under a reciprocal health care agreement with UK , I was able to claim about 2/3 of costs back. Went to the health office today & within 90 seconds had the cash in my hand!

2.Got a few more bits & pieces to put away for Christmas. DD2 really doesn't need much more, it will be whatever her main gift request much nearer the time! All bought greatly reduced so far. Had a lovely converstion in a shop with a young woman who's mum is Scottish!

    3. Home & didn't do too much ! (other than wrapping my Christmas gifts (sad I know!)

    4. Went down to the library with kids when they got in from school, replenished books/dvd's and caught up on my Casualty fix! OH finished work a bit earlier than usual, so picked us up on the way home!

    5. Ate my last piece of chocolate before I give it up for lent (and cakes and sweets in general!)

    Happy Pancake Day!
