just lost my post! So will be briefer this time!

    1. Nice walk to school & came home a different route (new houses & gardens to have a nosy at)

    2. Good chat with one of best friends from home on phone.

    3. Very lazy /relaxed day! Didn't need to tidy up as was all tidy from yesterday for party.

    4. DD2 had friends at 10 pin bowling, nice group of kids and DD2 got some gorgeous gifts.

    5. I was the winning 10 pin bowler! I won a bar of chocolate but was generous in my victory & shared!

    Hi all

I never came back for pleasures yesterday but there were at least five, however here are mine for today:

    1 - SUNSHINE!!!

    2 - Good workout

    3 - Lost 2 lbs!

4 - Washed all the front room windows, at looooong last we can see through them!

5 - With DS and DD's help we spring cleaned the front room, lots of hoovering cat hairs. I should have collected it all, spun it and knitted myself a pair of mittens, I bet there would have been enough!

6 - Going with an Irish friend (former doula client) to see another Irish friend who is in London for a couple of days. Good excuse to doll up, drinks in a fancy bar (I am on mineral water though, due to diet - DOH!).

    Good night all xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Here are my pleasures for the day:

    1. Having a lay in this morning. It was lovely and lazy, and felt like a weekend rather than a weekday.
    2. Cooked a gammon shank in the slow cooker, and it has yielded lots of lovely meat and some gorgeous stock.
    3. Visited MiL and had a lovely time chatting.
    4. She gave me her Dairy Book of Home Management circa 1969 :)
    5. And also a stem of rhubarb off her plant in the garden. There'll be more, she has said, when it grows, but until then I have enough to put in a jelly for pud, or stew and use to fill some whoopie pies or something. :) Nice!

That pretty much sums up my day. Beyond a few moments of mopiness it has been alright so far. We've fajitas for tea so it's nice and light. Hope everyone has had a nice day, and that you have a nice evening. :)

Its been a good day today.

    1. Swim outside this morning in the sun. The cold air makes you swim fast without stopping.

    2. A NSD.

    3. Speaking to a friend on the phone and having a good chat. We hadn't spoken for a while.

    4. Using up bananas in banana bread to put in oven at same time as crumble.

    5. Cooked some butter beans for tea and there are plenty to be frozen. Cheaper than tinned.

    6. Finished all the paperwork for the week.

    7. Cleaned the kitchen floor and the door and frame inside and out.

    Evening all.

I'm afraid I haven't got a lot of OS pleasures for today, given that it's been the opposite of an NSD - a YSD (Yikes! Spend Day), perhaps. ;) I'll post what I've got, though, and hope no-one minds that it's not very OS-focussed.

    1) Another bright, sunny, very chilly day. smiley-happy005.gifsmiley-sad018.gif

    2) Got the new windscreen wiper fitted to my car - the price wasn't too bad (by car standards) and mostly paid for by the money from my puddy bank.

    3) Had my new sofa delivered by two very nice delivery men, and it's gorgeously squidgy!

    4) Savoury mince for tea, bulked out with loads of veggies and lentils (nicely OS, and it tastes better that way, too).

    5) Later I'll curl up on my comfy new sofa and watch last night's Hairy Bikers, which I missed because I was out. :)

    6) It's Friday, and I've got next week off work. :j

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
    1. Its Friday...
    2. The suns been shining all day making going for a walk a plesant experience
    3. Normal grumpy bus driver was actually rather plesant today suspect fairs going up in april and possibily going to need to catch another bus home think my route is going to get cut short but these things happen and at least he warned me.
    4. No grumpy boss in work today so actually been able to "get on" without stupid interuptions because he is too lazy to look himself.
    5. LO's for tea and other than £1 spend today on some choc to satisfy my cravings no other spends to declare.

Evening all. Here's mine for today.

    1. woke twice last night but dropped straight back to sleep.

    2. Sun shining day.

    3. leg wound from hospital healing nicely

    4. made lovely pot of leek and potato soup, saved the leeks going on tne compst on Sunday.

    5. started sorting favourite recipes into a recipe book, so we can find the recipes that have worked well before.

    6. refried the left overs of last nights tea with a splash of balsamic vin and another nice tea that was cheap and quick.

    7. managed to sneak in another approved food order without Hubby noticing. my reasoning is that some is for dad when he comes out of hospital.

    8. a lovely conversation and cuddle with puddy cat who decided that my lap was the only place to curl up on.

Evening all! My five pleasure for today:

    1. dd1 went off to school with no problems and sounds like she had a good day from all her talk!

    2. Friend and her lil one came for lunch, was lovely to catch up, went out last week with all our kids, 8 between us, but bit hard to chat properly with all those tiny ears tuning in! Her lil one is now chattering away, a change even from last week, she's so funny!

    3. Went to have my hair cut, not in the least OS given how much Toni & Guy charge, but I always come out with a good cut, anyway the pleasure was in getting home to a lovely roast that the kids had cooked, was so nice to walk in to the smell of dinner wafting around!

    4. My friend is hoping to move into her new home next weekend, she has moved back home, which is 200 miles away, and whilst I miss her terribly, I am so pleased that she will be settled and that she is happy.

    5. Going to have a long soak in the bath, found a stray lush bathbomb at the back of the cupboard whilst cleaning today - just in case anyone is wondering I wasn't actually cleaning inside my cupboard, but looking for a sponge to clean the tiles!

Hope everyone has a lovely relaxing evening and lots of good things this weekend. I am off to meet old school friends for a weekend in a hotel, something we do each year, and each and every one of them is a huge blessing in my life xx

    Evening all,

Just dropping by to record my pleasures from yesterday and today.

    Yesterday
    1) Did a presentation to about 100 people on sustainable supply chains - it went really well and I even managed to make a joke which people laughed at! Comedy doesn't come easy to me in these situations.

    2) Brrr... it was bracing waiting for the various trains I had to catch throughout the day but the pleasure was that a nie colleague that I hadn't met before picked me up from the station to take me to the event.

    3) My lovely friend G kindly let me stay over at his last night as I had a meeting down on the South coast this morning and it wouldhave been a hassle to go from home.

    4) He made me yummy cocktails and we got a chance to catch up on news.

    5) In return I made him pancakes in an early pancake day celebration (as is our tradition) as we will both be away next week.

    6) While G was on the phone to his boyfriend, I chatted to M his housemate, best friend and ex-boyfriend. M is lovely and we were both bemoaning our single status.

    Today

    1) G made me tea and toast before I left for my meeting

    2) Beautiful sunny day

    3) Spent 5 hours on trains today so spent time appreciating the beauty of our countryside in the sunshine

    4) Did a presentation this morning which was not good... but the client seemed happy enough so that's all that matters!

    5) I'm going skiing tomorrow... Yippeeeeeeeeeee! Pity I have to take my blackberry with me and work while I am on holiday... :(

Night all - have a great weekend.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Lucky you CCP having a week off, wish I had one soon..........ENJOY :)

Caterina - vodka is a very pure drink, much nicer than sparkly water ;)

    1. Bit of a spendy day, but hey vodka for £9/bottle in MrS was not to be sniffed at :)
    2. Bought DD a pirate red nose, and called MrA to see if he and his son would like one - his chuckle was lovely to hear :)
    3. A lovely friend gave me lots of dance clothes and shoes for when DD is older and also offered me a DS complete with games for her which I declined as I don't want her to have one yet, she's only 6 and I'd miss our board games if she had a computer.
    4. Lovely lovely texts and chat with MrA *swoon*, popped in and had a quick chat with his mummy when he was out to drop something off for him and feel more reassured that she likes me, and sees me as a good influence on his life (which of course I hope/trust I am!)
    5. Have booked a groupon voucher for a karaoke party for DD's birthday, hope it'll come through soon and I can book it up, spoke to a lovely girl there who gave me lots of info and made me feel confident to buy it
    6. Have managed to get something tricky done at work which is making me feel hugely relieved and I will have lots of brownie points, hoorah!!

Oooh, did it again - remembered some more :)

    7. Have been offered an old laptop on Freegle after posting for MrA's son who wants to do geeky techy things with computers. Gulp, I might meet him when I drop it off!! Not sure I'm ready for that.....hmm....
    8. Did a Reverbe and found 1p. Reverbe - hope things are good with you sweetie, it would be lovely if you and Olliebeak and others who have vanished came back to us. Hugs to you all x
    9. Hosted lunch for a lovely friend who is going through a really tough time and her cute as a button daughter.
    10. DD told me that above friend's son (who is also gorgeous and lovely) is her "best bud", so sweet!
    11. Popped round to a friend's to invite her to dinner and ended up staying for a glass of wine and a natter whilst our dinner cooked - she couldn't come but I nipped home and stuck our dish in the oven, it was perfect by the time we returned. Hoorah!
    12. Bought the MrS £5 dinner deal - 2x pizzas, 1x pack of 2 garlic baguettes and a bag of salad for £5. DD's got chums coming for tea and we have a friend for lunch on Sunday so pizzas for little girls and salad for me and grownup chum.
    13. Realise that I've been slipping down quite low again recently but that the feeling is fading fast over the last day thank goodness. Life is great when you take the time to stop and reflect, I'm trying to make time every day for the past few days to switch off mentally and be thankful for the awesome things. Not just DD and yup, you know who ;) but everything, and posting on this thread really helps me too as it gets me into a good frame of mind reading everyone's posts and thinking about the good bits of the day. Thanks everyone xx :)
