Hello again from Kovolam , one more day then we fly home on Sat, leaving 3.30 am
but can't wait to see my family, and the pets.
Lots to tell! Will try to put pics on, don't know how to do a one-word link that some do, but will put the address of the pic site, with 'explanations'.
Hoping you're all doing okay, missing the camaraderie here, will catch up perhaps Sun or Mon with the posts - a good excuse not to do too much laundry when I get home.
Love n hugs

Evening everyone!
Welcome to the new folk on the thread - lovely place to be :j Glad you're having a good hol, Sparrer, and you have my sympathies on the humidity, mhagster - I can't handle that at all
Good day today:-
1) Tooth now mended - invisibly :j And because it was an emergency appt, only had to pay around £19 for what turned out to be quite a bit of work
2) Finally got around to changing my bank account - get £100 'welcome', and they are sorting out my standing orders etc. It'll be great to move away from that bank who claim to be 'helpful' - yes, they helped themselves to £35 a time if I went a few pounds overdrawn, which was usually because they took out DD's early before my salary had been paid in
3) Another spring like day with blue skies - really does cheer me up no end
4) Puddy tat a lot better after recent ear infection, and full of mischief again
5) Looking forwards to Masterchef and Marchlands on tv tonight
Hope all have had a good day,
Pam x0 -
Evening all and welcome to katieclampet, destroyerofdebt2011 and cat_g_83. Here's what I can manage for today.
1. Although another bad night, I dudn't doze in the chair all day.
2. Managed a sample for microbiology incase lungs growing funny bugs again and got it to gp.
3. No problem pickingd up some more air filters from medical enginering at hospital ( managed to mis place the spares from the last service and nebuliser wouldn't work). Had a nice chat with my old scouting assistant district commissioner at the same time
4. Managed a quick trip round Morrisons for the bits we'd run out of, and didnot spend too much on extras not on the list. - their no added sugar squash is a much better range than mrt's and the lemon sherbat squash also the fruit salad squash is only 69p and lush.
5.second part of master chef tonight - one of the few progs I likeIt matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.

Evening all. I'm sorry I didn't come back and post a fith pleasure last night - I dropped an open tub of chilli powder shortly after posting, which didn't do wonders to cheer me up!
I've been feeling a bit down today for some unknown reason, but have still managed to amass a few pleasures:
1) A lovely, sunny, spring-like day.
2) The crocus carpet round the cathedral is out in full flower, and looks as lovely as only massed flowers can do.
3) Saw the first butterfly of the year - a brimstone sitting on a crocus - nature's even better when it's yellow!
4) I've managed to damage the leather on the toe of my new boots , but a colleague has suggested a nicely OS way of repairing them, using beeswax and polish. :T
5) NSD.
6) Planning on curling up tonight and watching television (Hairy Bikers tonight! :j), and perhaps having a nightcap of a splash of the HM damson gin that's still sitting in the cupboard waiting for me to find an excuse to drink it. ( The excuse being... umm...... it's a bit chilly tonight, isn't it?)
frugalpam - I'm glad your tooth's mended, and at a price that doesn't hurt more than your broken tooth did!
newlywed - I'm so pleased to hear everything's OK again.
sparrer - it's really good to hear from you, and I'm glad you're having such a nice time. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos and hearing all about it when you get back. (No, I'm not just being polite - I really am looking forward to it!)
Frith - I hope your DS enjoyed Warwick Castle - I visited a few years ago and loved it, and would really like to go back some time.
Caterina - I hope your rainbow chard grows well - it must be one of the prettiest veg to grow.
cat_g_83 and destroyerofdebt2011 - welcome to the thread! :hello:
katieclampet - welcome back!
Back after a very long break!0 -
It has been quite a while since i posted in here, but i shall try to make sure i do so more often in future as it does one good to count ones blessings.
1. Was gifted my evening meal of chicken curry and rice.
2. Saw my bro who was visiting with his gf...don't see him often due to the nature of his work, but due to our Dad's poor health we've been seeing more of him the past month or two.
3. Sitting here nice and cosy, wearing what my daughter and I call my 'chav suit' which is a velour lounge suit which makes me look not dissimilar to Vicky Pollard. Specially the suit i have in bright blue velour (twas a brilliant bargain though i won't ever wear it outside the house!).
4. My wee old doggie who is laying next to me curled up with her 'baby' which is an old soft toy she 'mothers' and fusses over...oh yeah and DD is tother end of sofa on her laptop...we do speak to one another occasionally LOL!!!
5. Held my darling Daddies hand and kissed him and told him i love him, when i visited him in hospital this afternoon. Every day we have him on earth is an extra special blessingGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Evening Ladies,
Hope you are all well.
I am still carless which is very annoying (5 weeks and 2 days since I sent it to the garage to get fixed). Though I spoke to them today and they seem to think that they may have fixed the problem but are keeping it in for a couple more days to do the final checks.
1) Got loads of work done today:j
2) Cake at work!:j
3) Was in the office at 7.30am and left work at 4pm!:j
4) Had a few items that I ordered on line delivered. I wasn't expectig them so soon so that was a nice surprise (though the item that I was expecting today didn't arrive):j
5) WORKING FROM HOME TOMORROW!!!:j
Night night everyone!
Sleep tight
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
1. Going for a nice woodland walk this afternoon and enjoying the snowdrops.
2. Sowing some basil seed.
3. Finding out that a favour I'd done for a friend had worked really well and been greatly appreciated.
4. Sending a card to another long-term friend who recently had a bad stroke to let her know she was not forgotten.
5. Feeling pleased that two environmental protest petitions I signed have just been successful. The Ancient Forests are not now going to be sold off, and a consortium's plans to build a huge mega dairy in Lincolnshire where thousands of cows would never see the light of day and spend all their lives in covered sheds have been withdrawn. Two victories for those who have stood up and made their voices heard.0
