    5 for today (Tuesday).

    1) The builders finished! I'll overlook the fact it took me 2 hours to shovel up the mess they left in the garden and the broken porch window...

    2) Got LOADS of odd jobs done. Passport forms now in the post. :-)

    3) All boys behaving nicely.

    4) Brother came to help me dismantle the fireplaces so we could remove all the rubble that had fallen down the chimney during its rebuilding.

    5) Cleaned almost the entire house. MrN came round with his hoover for a while too! Changed the beds, tidied and hoovered upstairs, cleaned the stairs, kitchen, kitchen floor, dusted every surface of the lounge and did 3 loads of washing. That has made an impression in the massive amount of brick dust that had settled on everything.

    6) - this no longer in chronological order - went to the college to get my haircut cheaply and it's OK. A bit fluffy and Keith Chegwin at the front but better than it was.

    7) MrN came round and has just left. :-)

    Morning

CCP - Sorry about your reaction to the Kumquat I get it with Bananas and Apricots. Even the smell of bananas makes me feel ill which can sometimes bit a bit awkward as people seem to eat bananas all the time.

    Pleasures for yesterday:
    1. Made some muffins before work yesterday, took a few to work with me.
    2. The butternut squash soup I had made was really good and got a thumbs up from the guys at work. We have come to an agreement that if I bring in the soup once a week someone will bring in fresh bread and someone else will bring cakes. So all works out well.
    3. Recieved the Red Nose Sack Race Kit which I am giving to the local guides to use.
    4. Funny texting conversation with OH yesterday
    5. DD has put a case forward for going to my parents next week. A bit scary as she will get the train on her own to the North East but she is being very mature in her approach to it and I know she is growing up  so need to book some tickets tonight for her. As grown up as she may seem it doesn't stop me feeling sick at the thought of it though.

Hugs to all who need them

Tealady - it is scary when they first go on a train journey by themselvea but am sure DD will be fine.

    My five are
    1. Good day at work.

    2. A NSD again.

    3. Lunch of soup - lovely.

    4. DH bringing some muffins home.

    5. Quick journey home from work as very little traffic even though I left a bit later and am normally queueing all the way home.

    1. Rain! After a very hot & humid day it is most welcome!

3.I was fairly industrious at start of day but then kind of wilted about midday. However got back end of house tidied (having done front yesterday!) washing all done .
    4. Snacky tea tonight (as in couldn't be bothered cooking!) , quite nice for a change!
5.....I am thinking ! I'm going to have an early night, was up at 5am ,had a nice chat with niece on skype first thing and think I peaked to early!

    Enjoy your Wednesday!

    Evening all.

I have to confess I'm struggling to think fo pleasures for today, but I'll see what I can do:

    1) Aside from a rather sore throat this morning I seem to have escaped unscathed from the Great Kumquat Disaster. ;)

    2) Took the remaining kumquats to work rather than throw them away and a colleague took a great liking to them. It's good to know they're not going to go to waste now.

    3) It was still just about light when I left work this evening.

    4) Thai prawn noodles for dinner tonight - nice warming stuff for a chilly evening.

    Umm...

I can't think of a fifth one at the moment - I'll leave it and maybe something will come to me later. Have a pleasant evening, all, and steer clear of kumquats / bananas / tuna / whatever your particular allergen may be. ;)
Back after a very long break!
  • 1) sun been shining all day
    2) Tesco vouchers finally arrive and the £4 voucher compensates for my £1.88 overspend on food. (But i had run out of milk and bread till pay day and this will now take me through to then)
3)Mr Toxic was not at work today so much more plesant.
4)Found out Mr Toxic not just been creaping me out but others in the office too to the point where someone has made a complaint.
5)in an alround good mood as hopefully will secure some more income in the form of a new job tomorrow.

    1. Managing to resist buying any more Seville oranges today. Our cupboards are groaning with freshly made marmalade - and we still have some left from last year.
    2. Glorious sunshine after several days of rain. Managed an outdoor exercise session in our local park.
    3. First crocus and winter cyclamen coming into flower in the garden.
    4. Despite my various aches, succeeded in weeding the strawberry bed and pruning the grape vine. Not sure how to do it properly but it doesn't seem to matter as it always regrows like crazy and bears lots of grapes
    5. Am going to settle for an early night with a book, knowing that if tomorrow is fine, we'll probably go and visit a local Snowdrop Trail.

    Evening everyone!
Been trying to log in for a while - not sure if there's a forum glitch, or whether it's IE. Seems to be working fine on Firefox anyway.

    Today's pleasures:-

1 - Lovely sunny day, even felt like spring :j
2 - My amaryllis is in full bloom and looks stunning. It's the second stalk of flowers!
3 - Looking forwards to the hyacinths blooming
4 - Made a lovely card based on one of the designs we made at my card making class. It's turned out really well :D
5 - Am looking forward to no longer looking like Fang after my dentist appt tomorrow. Really hoping he'll agree to crown the tooth as this is the 2nd time a bit's chipped off

    Have a good evening everyone,
    Pam x
