I'm going to eat up all my leftovers for tea, which will make a very peculiar meal, but who cares? And then I shall catch up on the mending, polish my shoes and potter around listening to the radio. And maybe read my library book. Bliss.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hi all thanks for all the hugs. Still not great, but not feeling as low as yesterday.
1. Locking myself in the bedroom with a bottle of wine - and only had two glasses - so have some left.
2. Cleaning the kitchen - it was a serious state but that's when I like cleaning it - when there's a huge difference.
3. Realising if I needed to get away for a bit there are a few people I could call on (or turn up on their doorstep) - not sure I need it but it's a comfort to know.
4. Roast chicken tonight for tea.
5. Having a full freezer.
and 6. catching the last half hour of Mannequinworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Evening all. I hope the weather's been as glorious where you are as it has been in Portsmouth today.
(Sorry, mhagster - it must be really strange hearing us enthuse about warm weather when you're desperate for a little less heat.)
I've had a very pleasant, if not terribly OS, sort of a day:
1) A lie-in this morning, and woke to sunshine coming through the curtains.
2) A delicious, vaguely Italian-style breakfast of mushrooms with pancetta and ciabatta bread.
3) Got some washing out of the line for the first time this year. (It hasn't really dried at all, but it was nice to see it out there!)
4) Mooched into the city centre in the sunshine and did some shopping - a new pair of work trousers that didn't cost me anything as I bought them using a voucher from doing surveys, a pair of boots reduced from £50 to £14 , and a bright yellow towel - well, I had to, didn't I?
5) Listening to the football on the radio, although my arm aches a bit now as my radio decided it would only work if I held the aerial in my hand the whole time.
6) Treating myself to a takeaway curry in a bit - and it will be even more of a treat as I've found a local restuarant that does my favourite green chicken curry, which you don't see around much so I haven't eaten since I moved to Portsmouth.
newlywed - I'm glad you're feeling a bit less down today. You sound like you're still in need of a few hugs, though, so I'm sending some your way.
Frith - thank goodness MrN's son is OK - that could have been a very nasty accident. And very well done to your DS on his awards. :T
wogglemaker - your puddy tat sounds like she's in an 'amusing' mood.Mine's favourite game at the moment is climbing into the wash basin while I'm washing my hands, which makes things a little tricky! :rotfl:
beachbaby - it's good to see you back. What a nice pressie to receive through the post - I only ever seem to get bills and adverts.
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Lovely warm sunshine after the fog cleared this morning.
was well enough for a quick trip round Aldi at mid day.
had a nice chat with one of OH's work colegues from before he retired, he was a bit surprised to see me using oxygen, (mid you I still cannot believe how near I was to popping my clogs even when OH tells people I nearly didn't pull through)
Managed a bit of garden tidying this pm
A nice nibbley type tea and comfort food to boot.
England won at rugby
Newly wed I hope you two make up very soon
Frith well done to your son

Good evening all. What a gorgeous day it turned out to be.
Caterina, that would be wonderful!
Frith, I hope son5 is ok.
villagelife, well done you on the £50.
mhagster, how lovely to get a proper letter.
GreyQueen, aren't leftovers great?
Newlywed, it is reassuring to know there are people who are there at any time should you need them. Not everyone has this blessing.
CCP, I can't wait to be able to get my washing on the line. It smells so much fresher.
Wogglemaker, the sunshine was a lovely surprise wasn't it.
My five for today,
1. A friend sending me a silly joke by text.
2. Walking the dog. When I set off it was foggy, but it lifted to reveal a beautiful view over the lakes.
3. Clearing the old bits of wood and carpet out of the loft and sweeping it clean. I don't use it but it's nice to know it's all ship-shape up there. I have put it all in the car and will take it to the tip tomorrow.
4. Coffee with a friend.
5. Ex being civil. At last!!!
Love to all. X0 -
Hi all
A quick entry as I had a long (but lovely) day and very tired. Hugs to all who need them and hoping you are all having a good weekend.
My pleasures for today:
1 - Nice breakfast (not in bed for a change) with DH before he went to his martial arts class.
2 - Then back to bed for a nice lie-in with cup of tea and magazine reading.
3 - The sun is shining, what a lovely day!
4 - Mystery shopping lunch with DH, it was delicious and I am very happy that I shall be able to give a very good report.
5 - Afterwards, friend's birthday party, where not only it was good to celebrate my friend but also met other friends that I only see rarely, at her parties mainly, and catch up with.
6 - I had told my friend about my low carbing and she was very accommodating, in the end we had an amazing range of cheesy salads and I managed to stay on course (even if I ate too much cheese, but tomorrow I am going to be extra strict and hopefully put a workout in!).
7 - Lift back from another friend who lives not far from me.
Love to all and good night xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Had a lovely day today - not all ms
1. Walking my dog in the sun - still very muddy but seeing buds on some of the trees great.
2. DS1 thinking hard about future and investigating work in the summer and whther it would be beneficial to slightly change his coursefor future job prospects.
3. DS2 needing a bowtie for a delayed christmas ball and finding one in a set with a shirt for £8 when only a bowtie was £13.
4. Met DH in london after a meeting and had a chinese but northern chinese which was different and I really enjoyed it and it was cheap - 1/2 price of most other places we looked.
5. Watching England play rugby, sorry Caterina, but I would have preferred a closer match.
6. My hob arriving!!!!! I have been without one for a couple of weeks now. Only need to get it fitted now.0 -
1. Nice cheap lingerie at A$da, desperately needed and thank goodness it fits, lol.
2. A friend said my house looked really tidy and spruced up(made a change....)
3. DD happily away at my parents, having a whale of a time.
4. Me enjoying lovely time with MrA, and the dinner party I was dreading was wonderful; lovely people, delicious food, great music, and MrA holding my hand *swoon*
5. The lovely florist who suggested a great collection of flowers for us to take for the hostess, I really had no idea, and she was so friendly and helpful (and quite reasonable), that I will go down there again.
6. The nice shop assistant in Asda who told me about said florist, as I explained that as lovely as their flowers were, I wanted something a wee bit more stylish.... :T
5. Made fabulous bottom of the fridge soup that DD said was the best ever - even though it wasn't Tuscan bean!! Amazing
There's a gazillion more I could put down, but mostly slushy witterings about how happy I am with MrA, so not particularly OS, more0
