5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Hi
CCP - I tend to be a make it up as you go along cook but I will try and give you an idea of what goes into the Chirizio and Bean Soup.
I make a basic bottom of the fridge veg soup but add some chopped chirizio and italian seasoning (but use what herbs you prefer). I then blitz this and add a tin of Taco beans and a tin of ratatouille (but could use a tin of chopped tomatoes). I also add a bit more chirizio and get a gentle blitz just to give a varied texture. I let this cook out for a few minutes and its ready to go. I have found that it is better the next day as the flavours develop. Hope this makes sense.
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. I got the bus to work yesterday as was raining and the bus stop was open again but did make up for it by walking home
2. Other than using my bus pas was a NSD
3. Mix and match dinner of the Chicken with mozzarella and Chirizio that DD made at school and some meatballs and pasta. All eaten and suprisingly went well together.
4. Cup of tea with my friend. Weekend arrangements sorted out as I am staying at her house to look after her two teenage children so that she and her husband can have a weekend away. I'm a little bit apprehensive about this as her children even though the same age as my DD seem so much more grown up in lots of ways:eek:
5. Watching DD become a young leader at Guides, doesn't seem that long ago since she was becoming a rainbow.
Hugs to all who need them, happy travelling Sparrer0 -
Congratulations on your DD becoming a young leader at Guides, my DD is a Rainbow (and I'm a new Leader with them
) and she loves it, and is already talking about being a young leader when she's older too......mind you, this is the girl who at the age of 2 announced that she's going to be a doctor when she grows up, so every time anything remotely medical is discussed she "has" to listen/watch/help because she's going to be a doctor. With that kind of focus, I'm sure she will be a Guiding leader too

Hello everyone first time poster on this thread
1 When i got up this morning and let the dog out it felt like a soft spring morning. Hazy rain and birds singing their little hearts out even though it was still dark
2 planning to do something with meat taken off roasted pork shank (bought for £1.50) for tea then freeze what's left.
3 got bananas need using up so going to try making banana bread for first time.
4 have a good look through fridge to make sure nothing gets lost and forgotten
All i have planned for now and off to get ready for work. feeling: oddly light-hearted this morning must be the feeling that spring is on its way.0 -
Morning MaLarkin, lovely to "meet" you. I have a great banana loaf recipe if you want me to post it, once eaten, never forgotten0

Welcome to the thread MaLarkin
Here are mine from yesterday:
1) Managed to sort out a 3 month mortgage holiday so that's the main worry of our minds (for the time being).
2) A NSD
3) Noticed some snowdrops on the bank over the road - they're directly in front of the turning point for my car though, so I am taking extra care not to squish them!
4) Slow-cooked steak and kidney pie with a suet crust - umm but yum!
5) Hieroglyphics fun with our Ancient Egypt lapbook.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Hi all, feeling very
this week.
OH's dad's not well and me and him had a row....
He's talking to me again now but been sleeping elsewhere - most definitely not my suggestion.
Haven't been sleeping. Been upset, only just managed to hold it together at work all week and have been seriously busy sorting problems.
So here's mine:
1. Pasta with pesto was very nice for my lunch
2. Peaceful evenings with him hardly speaking
3. A whole double bed to myself
4. Manic week at work covering 3 jobs but now that's over and most of the problems I managed to sort.
5. Um. Its Friday?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Newlywed, sorry you are having an unhappy time. I hope things get better soon.
My day-
1) Getting the last spicesI need for some new recipes.
2) My cucumber seedling has appeared. I thought it was going to happen.
3) Making HM pizzas for dinner.
4) Popped into see SIL and little niece this morning.
5) DH has gone out so I can watch my gardening programmes with a wee glass of rose.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500

Pleasures for today (day off):
1 Didn't manage a run,but went out walking and covered the same distance.
2 Cleaned the balcony and washed the windows;jobs that I hate doing,so well pleased.
3 Have managed to resist the urge to bake (parkin),as have a half Black Bun and a half Christmas Cake still.Cake tonight I think.
4 Lugged all my recently decluttered items to the charity shop.
5 Going to watch another dvd tonight.
6 a sneaky extra:another NSD.:)
sparrer thanks for the holiday update.
newly-wed and Blimus (((hugs)))
Hi MaLarkin and welcome.
Hope you all have a good evening x0 -
Evening all.
newlywed - the hugest of hugs to you. I hope things get better right now, or even quicker.
MaLarkin - welcome to the thread! :hello: I hope your banana bread goes / went well.
Tealady - it sounds like you cook the same way I do!That recipe sounds utterly delish - thanks very much: as soon as we get another bout of chilly weather I'll be making a batch.
1) It's Friday.
2) I ran into my senior colleague in the baker's at lunchtime today, and he was able to tell me that the emergency project I've been working on for him for the past two days has been approved by the committee he reports to. That's such a relief - I think I would have cried if they'd rejected it after all that work. :rotfl:
3) A bought tuna mayo sarnie for lunch. I always feel guilty about eating tuna, but I've yet to find anything as nice as a squodgy, mayo-y tuna sandwich.
4) The news from Egypt. It was just impossible not to smile at the cheers of the protesters when they heard they'd got what they wanted.
5) A really nice dinner planned for tonight - a cheesy field mushroom in a bun with chips and salad, and possibly some onion rings if I'm feeling naughty.
Have a great Friday evening, all.Back after a very long break!0
