5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Hi all
Blimus, sorry about the awful work situation for your DH, I hope he gets new contracts soon. I understand the stress of being self-employed. I am sure you will manage to cope, with your amazing OS skills, and will eventually turn the corner (I hope soon!) (((HUGS)))
Tealady, thank you, it was lovely, but I really went to town to spoil him this time, see my pleasures below!
Here are my pleasures for yesterday:
1 - Glorious sunshine
2 - 3 lots of laundry done, including bedding.
3 - Mixed pleasure: found some insect eggs (Horrid! Yucky!) in the fluffy dust under our mattress (this is not the pleasure!) so I was spurred into a cleaning and disinfecting frenzy, I removed, hoovered and beat that mattress to an inch of its life, then hoovered all the nooks and crannies in the bed frame, then sprayed the anti-moth poison (luckily it is "natural" so it should not poison us, too!). Luckily we had such glorious weather so I left the windows open for ages and cleaned the rest of the bedroom as if it depended on my life! Then I remade the bed with fresh linen etc. In the end, our room now is doubly spring-cleaned and fresh, sweet smelling (This is the pleasure!).
4 - Found a fantastic offer online for a dinner for 2 in a restaurant where the waiters are opera singers and they sing to customers. Took DH as a surprise and we had the most magnificent dinner and entertainment ever, it was a perfect evening and he was thrilled by this surprise treat.
5 - Getting back late home and entering my freshly cleaned room and bed, it felt better than any posh hotel!
Off now, will post later or tomorrow for today's pleasures, have a good day everybody xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
1. Another dry day for getting laundry washed.
2. Managed to finish digging & weeding all the borders in the back garden.
3. Finally getting the bags of composted manure off our patio and spread around on the soil.
4. Snowdrops seem to have grown two inches in the past couple of days and ready to burst into bloom.
5. Catching the first early perfume from our Daphne flowers.
6. And the first one I've seen this year - a very brave bumble bee who has obviously just emerged from hibernation.0 -
It's been a day or two, but they have come and I am still here, however wracked.
1. Unusually for me, slept deep and long hier soir, after dragged-out feeling day[we both felt it, despite doing v. well] at Charity Showroom, following night with no sleep at all. QED.
2. First Amazon book sale for many weeks, posted, which may help madness of self, who....
3. ......after dithering for some days, actually bought ticket for May>Glasgow>Armadillo>glorious and superb Tim Minchin[who shares Old School with s/o, which is a path I must not tread too nearly, dearly atm.] I did not realise his 'Matilda' was on for only a short run, when the plaudits rained down, almost in critical disbelief. I hope it will tfr>West End at some point. TM is a very, very clever and funny and grounded fella. Amazon sale covers barely a qtr of tkt, but in a so-wot defiance, I have done it.
4. Mr T vouchers arrived, will use some to cover Glasgow SYHA stay. It's a marvellous building, former mansion of shipping family and well-sited up on Park Terrace.
5. Dreams may have helped last night, but there is much I am far from able to re-visit atm.
6. Worser and worser, considering content of no.3, also bought 2 books on Amazon.
7. I've noted others' pleasures re: snowdrops and spring flowers, but today saw some for myself, around Surgery. Amidst them stood a great bunch of daffodils, in full bloom.
8. NZ Bush Shirt is having gentlest wash and will be set to blow dry overnight. The bittersweet which overwhelms just now is present here, too, but I must visualise that diluting, departing with the gusting night air.
9. Earliest ever schoolfriend D has found me via the f/b thing I have been very wary of....am venturing in tentatively.
10. A 'Goody goody' poss. mtg to anticipate with pleasure and empathy with an mser - lovely pm. Thankyou.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Evening all.
I'm afraid it's another hurried post from me tonight, before the football starts.
For yesterday:
1) The security light didn't come on as I left for work - it's definitely getting lighter in the mornings!
2) A glorious, warm, sunny day, which felt decidedly spring-like at lunchtime.
3) LOs for lunch - much cheaper than buying something.
4) An email received by a colleague threatening dire consequences to his immortal soul for rejecting a client's case. The whole thing was so ridiculously over-the-top it had us in fits of laughter - probably not what the writer intended!
5) Lots of cuddles from my puddy tat. I don't know what's making him so clingly at the moment, but it's rather cute.
And for today:
1) More LO pie for lunch.
2) Many apologies from a very senior colleague for dropping a nasty bit of work on me at the last minute, and I know he'll remember it next time I need a favour.
3) HM chicken and lentil curry for dinner (well, HM from a jar as my attempts at totally-made-from-scratch curry have never been remotely successful) - it's cooking now and smells delicious.
4) Football to watch very soon (I'd better get a move on...)
No five today, sadly - I've been feeling really tired and run-down recently and am scratching around for pleasures rather more than I'd like.
ampersand - sending you big hugs through the ether - you're obviously having a really rough time at the moment.
wogglemaker - it's great to see you posting again - I hope you manage to stay out of hospital for a while now.
Blimus - that's dreadful news about your OH - I hope something turns up right NOW!
Have a great evening, all - I'm going :footie:wards now.Back after a very long break!0 -
