Monday night!
1.We woke up this morning & it was rather chilly! A cool 11o at 8am, which warmed up to 21o as the day progressed! Had my jeans on to take dd2 to school!
2.Attended assembly at school & offered my services to head teacher, so have to pop back in tomorrow morning & see what's available.
3.had a visit from a neighbour & her 2 wee girls which was nice.
4.when they went ( & I had rushed round tidying before they came so that was all done!), got stuck into dd2 room & got that finished. So I'm pleased with how it's turned out.
5. A very simple tea of French toast!0 -
Caterina - am not Italian but have enjoyed watching Italy improve over the past few years in the six nations and would like them to do well.
1. Staying dry and fairly warm while watching DS2 play rugby.
2. Friends at rugby for giving me support when DS2 was knocked out. The care he was given on pitch and then at hospital. He is ok with a headache at moment but no lasting effects but it was a scary few moments.
3. Having DS2 at home. I didn't complain on watching WWF.
4. DH was visiting DS1 for the day but came home earlier than was planned.0 -
Windy here in Yorkshire today -
1. Off to library to collect my ordered book
2. Free range chicken from butchers
3. Day off work
4. hoping the mega wind drys the clothes in A flash & they dont end up in the canal
5. recording Radio 4 programme on Roma for when I get back later on.0 -
Some pleasure already for today and the morning isn't over yet.
1. Eating some of neighbour's home-made Seville marmalade for breakfast, swapped for some bunching onions and fascinated to see how hers differs from our own recently made version. They both taste lovely but have two quite different tastes.
2. Sowed my chilli and peppers seeds this morning where they're now on a warm windowsill waiting to germinate.
3. Getting all the beds stripped, sheets washed and now drying outside in the wind.
4. And the best one of all - dear OH is in the kitchen cleaning the oven, which is my most hated chore.0 -
Evening all.
I'm afraid I'm a little short on pleasures today - I knew it wasn't going to be a great Monday when my cat woke me up at quarter to six demanding breakfast, then disturbed me again 10 minutes later by throwing up his breakfast all over the living room carpet. _pale_ The day pretty much carried on the same way from there. However,
1) I lost my comb last week (my flat only has one bedroom and one living room so I don't know how it's possible to lose anything in such a small space, but I somehow seem to have managed it), but I found I had enough points on my Boots card to get a new one for nothing. :money:
2) Treated myself to a naughty but very nice bacon and brie baguette from my local sandwich shop for lunch.
3) Having had said baguette for lunch I'm now not very hungry for my dinner, so I should be able to have a small portion and take the leftovers to work for lunch tomorrow, rather than buying something. (A very naughty habit I've got into recently and must get out of.)
4) The prospect of a nice cold glass of wine with dinner. Well, I have to open a bottle to make dinner with, and it seems a shame to let it go to waste.
OK, four's not bad for a lousy Monday, I feel.
villagelife - I'm glad your DS is OK - that must have been very scary for him and for you.
Kitchenbunny - sadly I don't have a recipe for the flapjacks, as I do it all by eye. It's basically: some butter, some sugar and some syrup melted together, then one mashed banana and one chopped banana stirred in along with enough muesli to make a decent mix (sticky looking but not too wet); then pour into a greased dish and bake in the oven until brown on top. I will warn you - the bananas make the flapjack rather stickier than normal, so it's more like an oaty cake than a true flapjack.
Kittikins - I hope your DD's feeling better today.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all, Primrose - does your OH travel far? My oven needs a clean desperately, lol.
Villagelife - hope your DS is fully recovered from his rugby accident.
Today's joys
1. NSD, woo hoo! 7 already under my belt for the year, I'm doing so much better than last year
2. MrA came over for the afternoon, yippee! Friday felt like such a long time ago......*swoon*
3. Chatted to an old friend last night and are hopefully going to meet up for drinks in the spring. He's still as mad as ever, doesn't appear to have changed much in 20 years!
4. Have found another old friend on facebook, looking forward to chatting to her online soon.
5. Have eaten very healthily today
6. College cancelled this evening, sorry the teacher is feeling ill but glad as I wasn't in the mood!
7. DD is 100% again, happily went off to school this morning and will soon be off up to bed.0 -
For today,not sure I have 5:
1 A pleasant day at work.
2 Nonetheless glad to be off tomorrow.
3 Have been promised marrows from a friend with an allotment,so I'll be making marrow and ginger jam again;not for a while yet I know...
4 Looking forward to an early night.
5 Had a natter with a friend that I hadn't seen for a while.
Villagelife how relieved you must be.
Hope you all have a good evening x0 -
Evening
Villagelife - Hope your DS is ok now, your heart must have been in your mouth:eek:
Pleasures for today:
1. Walked to work this morning, was not planned but the bus stop I use is out of action and by the time I have walked to the next one might as well keep walking. Very MSE and healthy for me at least
2. Free lunch at work as had to sort out lunch for a director (who is a pain) at short notice so I got a sandwich out of it and one for tomorrow
3. There was also some chicken left from the lunch so I brought it home and turned it into a pasta dish some fridge left overs for dinner:money:
4. Just won an I-pod on ebay which DD has been saving for so one happy DD.
5. Another £3 of luncheon vouchers arrived today from a survey site plus some Tesco clubcard vouchers. All put away in the voucher stash ready to use when needed.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Hello everyone...
Hope your week has got off to a good start.
1) Went to the doctor first thing about my sore shoulder. Turns out it is tendonitis so am on some serious painkillers and anti-inflammatories.
2) Good day in the office - we had out monthly @rse-slapping (also known as pricing meeting) with the big boss. Happily she was in a good mood so it was a good meeting and she didn't kick off.
3) Text from a (nice) ex - I haven't seen him in nearly 6 months so we decided to go for coffee. His girlfriend had a baby last month and it was nice to hear him so happy. I really loved him and it was good to realise that I have moved on and that we can now be friends.
4) Made a lemon curd cake... it didn't work ut quite right but it will be find for me to eat. I also made some muesli bars which were slightly more successful (though i haven't tried them yet)
5) Sold a book on Amazon...
Night all... sleep tight
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
CCP - my flapjacks are always rubbish! To the point my sons are used to eating the little particles of them with a spoon.
Villagelife - hope your son is feeling better.
5 so far for today...
1) Went to see mum and dad and dad is getting better from a horrible cold/flu thing. He had had a really high temperature so good to see him on the mend.
2) Went into town and closed a bank account that was (some years ago) massively overdrawn to the point it was blacklisted. :-( It's been in the black for years, just never got round to closing it! Also found there was £60 in it so that was nice.
3) Went to Sainsburys with no children.
4) Took MrN's dogs for a walk, lovely sunset looking out over the hills.
5) Saw MrN on and off throughout the day as he was working from home, not sure if I will see him later. :-)
6) Now got nothing to do except sit by the fire, drink tea and listen to Just a Minute on iplayer.
7) Oh yes, had to laugh at smaller son! He was sent out of assembly for putting his hands in his pockets. For someone with behavioural problems, this really isn't a big deal... Anyway, he was sent to the Head (!) who, bless her, said, "I don't think you need to worry about it, C - off you go". :-)0
