I keep meaning to try and post on here more regularly but time seems to overtake me !
However, a few recent ones to keep my pot boiling:
1. I'm still digging up leeks, celeriac and parsnips from my smallish vegetable patch. Can't believe how long they've lasted.
2. Had a good session in the garden this morning in the sunshine tidying up and digging, accompanied by a tame robin who kept hovering nearby to collect the worms.
3. Used up some more soft fruit from the freezer.
4. Discovered this morning on the premium bond website that I've just won £25.
5. My elderly car recently passed its MOT.
6. Noticed a pair of blue tits investigating one of the nesting boxes in our garden. Hopefully this might mean some fluffy babies later in the spring. (or perhaps they were just looking for spiders ?)0 -
Have been thinking about you, sparrer and wishing you a wonderful time in my head and far voyaging mind. Reading about your nails spurs me to enquire.
When I asked about it at College Beauty Salon on Monday, was told it's £30, which is way too much for me. Only the Graduate Salon offer nailwork, not the Trainees'. You inspire me to do a local-ish Google.
#########
1. Another day after night of memory-Hell, but it looks fine out.
2. Reading Louise Penny.
3. Phone must have slipped from bag when I was between cars on Tuesday - luckily found by another OD volunteer who left a-phone msg yesterday. Off to collect shortly and will....
4. See L on way back, in not dissimilar situ. Brought back tall taper Church candles from Notre Dame des Arts for us both.
5. Ordered Braeburn apple tree at last, using Mr T voucher.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Mwuahaha, I'm going to be thrown out of 'the club' for this...
I had limoncello meringue pie for breakfast. That was most definitely a pleasure :A
What club, freyasmum? LOL I have been known, in times past, to have limoncello for breakfast, hold the meringue pie :rotfl: Well done you, that's a double pleasure (the meringue AND the limoncello)!
Sparrer, well done on weight loss, don't worry about the holidays, I am sure you will make some wise food choices and some less-than, but so what, that's holidays for you! BTW Thank you for your Chinese New Year wishes, same to you (I just KNEW you are Chinese! LOL).
Ampersand, £30 for college-based nails sounds like a LOT! It is possible that you will find something much more reasonably priced in a small independent salon, good luck!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1 - Day 3 of my low carbing and still going well, a bit tired and spaced but not hungry at all.
2 - Long walk to the Underground in the lovely weather, instead of catching the bus.
3 - Picked up DD's dress from the shop where she had it sent, I had forgotten to take the printout (she ordered it online) but the shop assistant kindly let me have it anyway, after I produced proof of address.
4 - Found a lovely pair of shoes at the Ecco sales, 70% off, amazing bargain, and just the type and colour I needed to complete my wardrobe!
5 - Back home, found that DS had swept the stairs and tidied up the front room. The house is looking really good at the moment!
6 - Feta and spinach salad lunch with DD and DS, I love these lunches with my darling children!
7 - All DH's shirts ironed, all the towels (garden-dried!) folded and put away, now it is a bit of me-time and I am spending it surfing here!
Have a good evening everybody xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
hi all
My pleasures for today are
My lovely students-the level 2 group are doing really well.
Sunshine today.
Nice sit down this afternoon after work.
OH enjoyed the toad in the hole I cooked for him (and said so).
Dollycat chirruping hello when I got home.
Have a good evening folks.

1) Cleaned and tidied the house this morning. Managed to get some sheets dried outside and took them in just before it started raining.
2) Coffee with my Thursday friend in our local cafe and I didn't order a piece of cake.
3) Chilli for tea. I'm afraid it's the second day in a row but I find it improves with time and all those beans are a great way of making the mince stretch.
4) Made a tea loaf and used up some of the marmalade peel from the freezer - there was definitely too much to go in the marmalade but I couldn't bear to throw it all away after I'd stood and cut it up. We shall see if it goes well with the mixed fruit in the cake.
5) Went to a craft party on Tuesday and got some lovely ideas. The lady who runs them suggests that you buy one of her kits and put it together while you are there, which is brilliant. I sat and sewed in contentment whilst I was chatting. It did surprise me, though, how few women can sew. Having said that, I learned a new stitch while I was there, so it was a very productive evening after all.0 -

I think I was a bit hyper this morning - what the the sugar in the pie and the thinking about college :rotfl::o:D
Maybe I meant the 'mature adult who has sensible breakfast club'? I did ensure that littlie had cereal and yoghurt and fruit though :AFreyasmum - I salute you for your breakfast choice, sounds divine!! Have a great day at college, sounds like you're a superstar student already
I really enjoyed it!0 -
1. A lovely dress that I ordered on ebay arrived and it's fabulous, I feel gorgeous in it and have the right occasion coming up to wear it next week
2. DD gave me a lovely relaxing massage and relaxing talk to me when I told her I have a tummy ache this evening, bless that child!
3. A lovely afternoon with MrA, we went to see The King's Speech, a great film, I heartily recommend it!
4. Nice PMing with a lovely person from this thread today
5. Chinese takeaway for dinner, although sadly DD decided she didn't like any of it......Happy Chinese/Vietnamese new Year (Chinese Rabbit and Vietnamese Cat)0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today:
1. Very early in the office today as DD needed to pick up the canvas I had delivered to the office to take to school.
2. Treat myself to a baguette from my favourite sandwich shop today. Not MSE but yummy
3. Some teacakes reduced to 25p in Mr.T for breakfasts tomorrow
4. Easy dinner of cottage pie that was prepared yesterday that just needed to go in the oven
5. Postie brought me £15 Love2shop vouchers that I ordered ages ago from a survey site. Totted up the vouchers I have saved and should cover a few birthday presents already plus a meal out for the family.:money:
Hugs to all who need them0
