    Evening,

Ampersand - sending healing vibes and hugs your way

Pleasures for the last couple of days in no particular order:
    1. Taking DD for an eye test to a new opticians that were able to do a colour test for her. Has recommened lime green overlays to use when reading. DD is very relieved they didn't recommend a colour tint to her glasses:eek:
    2. Hair cut and coloured. Had a 50% off voucher for the colour and a free treatment. Still expensive but really like my hairdresser. No longer have my badger streak as DD calls it.
    3. Evening out with the girls. Food was rubbish but the company was good and had a very entertaining night.
    4. No hangover this morning as was very sensible with my alcohol intake.
    5. Food shopping done on budget this week. Meal planning and writing a list makes such a difference to my shopping bills but sometimes get complacent and slip with this.
    6. Sunday baking session today included sausage rolls, maid of honour tarts (made using the most yummy HM blackcurrant jam bought at a christmas craft fair), bakewell tart and a big pot of carrot soup. Also made a chicken, ham and veg pie for dinner which went down well.
    7. Cuddles off OH this morning, have not been sleeping very well this week so have not really been around for cuddles.

hugs to all who need them or just want one

    Morning!

Saturday passed in a bit of a daze and I didn't feel altogether chipper on Saturday night :-( Felt very downhearted and didn't even bother going to bed until 5am. The boys were at their father's too.

    So 5 for Sunday!

    1) Woke up at (drum roll..........) 2.45pm. Hmmm! That'll cancel out certainly the last couple of years of insomnia!

    2) Walked down to mum and dad's.

    3) Fairly up to date with house work etc.

    4) My school friend came round for tea.

    5) Children came home unscathed.

    6) MrN came round. :-)

Think I'll join the Insomniacs, not that I've ever let it worry me, taking the view that body/mind will switch off when enough's enough. I have always had radio, reading alongside and know that fretting about not sleeping is the worst thing to do.
    That aside -
    1. Another day.
    2. Thankyou Tealady.
    3. Hair de-badgered at College.
    4. Finished David Nicholls' 'One Day' on bus back, fits mood somehow - and there's a travel piece by him in weekend Grauniad. I like this man.
    5. A sunny day, against forecast, with angel pink sunset just now.

Empathy and hugs to those who feel the need atm.

    Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all having a good week so far.

I'm back from Bonny Scotland and have a great weekend (despite arriving nearly 5 hours early for my flight home... doh!)

So my pleasures for the past few days:

    1) Fabulous weekend with my friends from Edinburgh - lovely to see them and all 3 of us needed a good break so it was lovely to chill with them.

    2) Snow at Cairngorm was stunning, as was the skiing. Except for the sheet ice at the bottom of the final run home - i got over it fine but it was amusing to see the human skittles come down... definitely not suitable for the novices on the slopes!

    3) Shared some yummy red wine with my friends - I normally don't like red wine, but my friend's husband took it on himself to educate me in this matter and I was definitely pleasantly surprised.

    4) Got over my tonsillitis and regained my appetite.

    5) Stupid car is still at the garage... but my lovely colleague gave me a lift in to work despite it being slightly out of his way and then another lovely colleague lending me his company car for the evening.

    6) Was told today that I am going to be moving office to London when our new London office opens. I am going to work from there 3 days a week which means hopefully I will start getting out and meeting people again! or at least start doing jiu jitsu training.

    night all... sleep tight!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

  • I think I should be sneaking through the back door feeling very guilty for not posting in so long. I've been so incredibly busy, and feeling rather overwhelmed of late. Just had a quick catch up. My five pleasures for today,
    1. Jacket potato with beans and cheese for tea - simple but gorgeous!
    2. Feeling much better after some self inflicted sickness this morning.
    3. Up to date with laundry.
    4. Doing a big shop - I like to have full cupboards.
    5. Some positive news from my solicitor.
    Love to all. X
  • 1. Stayed overnight with my sister
    2. Had lunch with good friends
    3. Went through the Dartford tolls with no hold up.
    4. Got Sun holiday in September
    5. printed out edited photo for photo competition, could be a winner!

    1. Went into M&S to buy some gloves as it was so cold today and my fingers were like icecubes, but came out with a pair of lovely sandals :) They were "free" as I took back the dress that DD had said was 'divine' the other week that I wasn't sure about.
    2. Enjoyed seeing my London colleagues, even irritating boss wasn't too bad!
    3. Bought yummy lunch at M&S using a gift card
    4. Had a divine time with MrA this afternoon and have now met his father who is as lovely as his mother and sister were!
    5. Payday :)

house elf hope you're feeling a bit perkier today :)
whammy good for you going for the good life, hard work but amazing rewards :D
mhags congrats on your bravery :T, I know just what you mean about 'things' touching your legs under water so I think you were very brave
kittikins thanks for the vibes, they'll help through one of my least favourite jobs. Re keys, how do we get so many that don't fit anything, and lose the ones that do ?
ampersand pleased to hear you got some pleasure from the concert, hope you're feeling a little less sad. We spent much of our time in and around Belluny and the lakes, so peaceful, then bought a quarter share in a gite near Puymirol, near Agen.
vouchersrme good work on the sailor suits, and well done on the bargain BM :D
wammy bless your family, what lovely people. No wonder you feel so lucky :)
Tealady pleased you had an evening out in good company. Well done on your control, saves making with the black coffee in the morning :D
Frith wish I could sleep like that, even if I go to sleep at 2am I'm up at 8 at the latest. Hope you're feeling up to par now
Ladyhawk Scotland sounds like a good break, good that you didn't break anything on the ice ;)
beachbaby pleased to hear things are going well for you, don't overdo it though. And pleased you got some good news for the sol :)

    1. nsd
    2. started laundry
    3. Postie brought me a small cheque for doing a survey
    4. She also brought an offer from my ins co, not to put the price of my car ins up this year even though I made a claim when someone reversed into me a few months ago. Will do a search of the insurers anyway but they're reasonable anyway so will wait and see...
    5. Reached target on another survey side for 500 nectar points. Now got £50 worth :)

Night night, sweet dreams, hugs to everyone
