Dundeedoll - hugs to you
Pleasures for today:
1. Walked to work again, did get a lift home though
2. some crisps to trial for a survey site which are OH favourite flavour so that made him happy
3. Also received a cheque from the company that are building houses next to ours for letting them use our water supply when they need it. We are not metered so great result :j:T:j
4. NSD
5. Made toad in the hole for dinner. Made too much yorkshire pudding batter so turned the excess into herby pancakes which I will fill with bolognaise, top with cheese and bake for tomorrows dinner.
Hugs to all who need them.0 -

Hello - am new to this thread though lurk and occasionally post on many of the boards. This is such a great idea - I try and mentally do this every day but will try and put mine in writing... Today's were:
1. Wednesday means its free Stylist magazine day - I got mine outside the Tube station this morning and read it on the train home
2. Our new frosted glass-effect film on the bathroom window is doing a good job and saved us having to buy a new window pane! Hurrah!
3. OH has gone out which means I can get in my PJs ridiculously early and snuggle down in bed with the laptop without feeling bad
4. A cool map I bought OH for Xmas has finally made it onto the wall, with some ingenious sticky velcro pads. It looks awesome!
5. (Not MS at all - but) we signed our wedding contract and paid our deposit today. This means the date is confirmed and the plans can begin (as MS as possible, of course...)0 -
1) Consultations are ongoing about what they actually want me to do, now that I still have a job, and it doesn't look too bad.
2) MSE lunch, which was leftovers from last night's dinner. Found an orange in the kitchen at work and was told I was welcome to it, so that was dessert.
3) Using up day at home (happens weekly), so it was risotto and salad, with some yellow-sticker pastries for DD, DS and DH.
4) Wearing my £3 purple jumper, bought from the local F*ctory Shop in the sale. I can never have too much purple.
5) A teaspoon of strawberry jam - made in the summer from our bumper crop of strawbs on the allotment. Pure Heaven.
PS I love the idea of "burning with the sacred fire of housework" Caterina! That's me tomorrow morning, I hope.0 -
Evening everyone!
Wow - well done Frith :j You've done incredibly well and should be so proud! I think we should all have a slice of :bdaycake: and a glass or 2 of something alcofrolic to celebrate
My thoughts exactly

PS Can we all spare a thought for dundeedoll who's had an accident in her car (I think she's ok though) and sadly had to have her beloved puddy tat put to sleep following a sudden illness

1. Visited a friend who's very poorly with a heart condition, she's very good, tries to be cheerful and never complains.

Hello again to everyone -
Engulfed and overcome still, but coming here will help me through.
Well done on fixing your laptop, sparrer. I remember the feeling of disbelief and relief when I successfully put in a new hard drive a few years ago. Only 8 days till you leave now:-)
1. Another day.
2. Dr confirms ripped thigh muscle, so no gym atm. Rest and painkillers - no shortcuts.
3. NZ Skype from D, who has so much more to contend with and a big decision to make.
4. Lovely em from dear M who I will see in France in March.
5. 'Siberian cold' in weather forecasts, but I can be warm and renew hottie, for more than its immediate comfort.

5 for yesterday (Weds).
1) Boys went back to school after 2 days off poorly.
2) Builders started re-pointing work on the house. Noise was appalling and falling plaster in the kitchen was a nuisance but glad it is finally being done! (Plaster is a mixture of horse hair and grotty lime so not nice to find in your cup of tea).
3) Went to mum and dad's and took them some shepherds pie I had left and had lunch there. Looked at the windows my brother has put in his barn conversion.
4) Paid off final debt :-D
5) Took boys into town to get our passport photos done. We look very severe when we're not smiling!
6) MrN came round.
Which is all marvellous. Unfortunately I started thinking of coming home from the refuge. What a shambles that day was! My mum stayed here overnight and stepped backwards and fell over a toy box and broke a rib. :-O The ex had emptied half the house out so we hadn't even got any pillows. Then I started thinking about the debts and living on £20 a week for the first 18 months after we came back (£20 for 3 of us - I lost 2 stones!) Bloomin Casualty upset me again with its horrible storyline and I made the mistake of watching it on iplayer on Tues night in bed and that made me cry.
Anyway, by tea time yesterday I was feeling quite stressed and am also a bit under the weather with what the children had caught. I cooked tea for everyone as MrN was at a parent evening. By the time he got back I felt so queasy and stressed I had to stand on his front step to get some air. :-S I went home and he thought I had gone out to the step because I was really angry about something. Obviously forgetting there that I don't get angry, just a bit peeved from time to time!
By the time he came round last thing I was a right mess with the good old ptsd back again. At least I have it down to a fine art now - basically to lie on the sofa and think of everything awful that I possibly can, almost to get at stressed as possible, notice all the inability to breathe, palpitations etc then, in about half an hour, it all goes away. Probably not the nicest half hour MrN has ever spent but I think the poor chap is getting used to it now and he does a good job of the cuddling/not expecting me to say anything.
Builders are back in!0 -
Dundeedoll - sorry to hear about your recent troubles. :-(0
