Evening! it is our very first Australia Day in Australia, the Australians really do celebrate this day.
1. It's a public holiday so OH was off work & we went to beach with a picnic, 'our' beach was almost empty and my 'boys' had a new toy.....a kayak! So much fun had by them & I got some good photos as I captured their progress......including the falling ins!
2.Headed into city ,which was jumping with so many people, hoping to see Andy Murray on big screens but it wasn't on today because of Oz Day.
3. headed home & changed out of beach stuff & went out for dinner, which was very nice.
4.Drove into city ,to a viewpoint to watch fireworks over city to celebrate Australia Day.
5.saw the most amazing sight of a colony of 100 & 100's of large black bats, swooping & swarming in the twilight sky. I have never ever seen anything quite like it!
Do have a good Wednesday, take care x0 -

Hi all
Frith, warmest congratulation on clearing your debt, you must be feeling very proud of yourself, well done!
Please, does anyone know how to insert pictures or images on the forum, or could you please post the link to the info - no matter how hard I try I cannot find it (sorry for ineptitude!). Thank you very much!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1 - Scrambled eggs and salmon for breakfast with DS.
2 - Went to sign on, only my second time and I am still quite apprehensive, but no need to worry, everybody was still very pleasant and I signed on without a problem.
3 - Received the Vegetarian Low Carb book that I had ordered online.
4 - Received the Approved Food order nice and early so no longer need to be stuck at home waiting.
5 - No rain, the weather seems to be turning for the better and I am looking forward to my long weekend in Cornwall with DS (who will be looking for summer work there).
Have a great rest of the day, everybody xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
New sig? Hoorah!
Well done! It must be a wonderfully liberating feeling. Now you can look forward to building up some savings and earning some pitifully low interest rates on them ! Why do we all get punished twice? High interest rates on money that is owed, followed by virtually zilch interest rates on money we've painstakingly saved ?
My recent ones:
1. starting to organise my seed box for this season's vegetable sowing plans. Need to start putting some dates in my diary to remind me.
2. Good friendly session in our outdoor park gym equipment yesterday. (Legs ache so it must have done me some good!)
3. Digging up most of my remaining leeks from the vegetable patch to turn them into leek & potato soup for the freezer.
4. Clearing some overdue domestic paperwork tasks.
5. Finishing Rabbi Lionel's Blue recent book that he autographed for me at a recent talk he gave.0 -
Frith - that's a spectacular new siggy.
Fantastically well done you!
In fact, this knowledge will magically affect the areas which previously trapped you and sometimes made you express hopelessness here.

1. Waitrose deli` saving` their freezer boxes for me ( former hummus or cream cheese containers) which are great freezer containers!
2. Being called a `lady`- that always makes me smile.
3. Having coffee with an old work mate and putting the world to rights!
4. Spending time making socks...and nearly completing it.
5. Making mashed potato -totally yummy- which qualifies as my last meal food(!) Went with lambs liver which only cost about 76p!0 -
Congratulations Frith, that's great news
